“Fucking Bitch,” I shrilled squeezing my phone.
Slinking down the steps, I scurried out the front door.
The Paparazzi hurled questions at me from the curb, sticking their cameras in my face. Whipping my hand up, I turned my cheek, warding off the bright lights.
My brain was in a haze. I blinked repeatedly. What’s happening?
“Is it true you came to Hollywood to swindle patrons out of their hard-earned money?”
Fresh hot tears blurred my view as I approached the Valet attendant. The ticket shook between my slender golden-brown fingers. The lanky guys Adam’s apple bobbed and the corners of his pink lips lowered.
His long fingers latched on to the other end of the ticket. “Chin up beautiful.” He took a step closer. His blue eyes sparkled in the camera lights at my back.
“Don’t let them see they broke you. This is tinsel town. You have to remain strong. No matter how deplorable they make you feel inside.”
Swiping at the tears, I mouthed, “Thank you.”
He winked before darting down the street.
The distinct ring sounded in my purse. It was Maxon calling. I couldn’t speak to him right now.
Shit, maybe the decision to move to L.A. was rash. Doubt wrenched my thoughts. Maxon said it was time for me to follow my dreams.
My phone vibrated inside my tiny purse a minute later. He probably sent a text.
I retrieved my phone.
Maxon: Sorry I couldn’t make it tonight. Got caught up on the set. I promise to make it up to my favorite girl.
Ballerinas’ twirled in my belly, performing pirouettes through the stomach acid. Nothing else was in the tiny pouch. I hadn’t eaten since this morning.
At sixteen he uttered those words over and over again as he came deep inside of me. Waves of pulsating vibrations struck my frame and my panties were drenched at the thought of the epic memory. We’d get to that mind-blowing time in my life soon.
I’d been called his favorite girl since the age of ten. I guess you could say I was his favorite girl. We were after all best friends.
