Decorating With Books

When you finish reading a book, do you cram it on a shelf? Loan it to a friend? Give to the library or a shelter? Or do you decorate with books? One of the problems of moving to a smaller house is the need to find creative ways to display your books. On this table,… Continue reading Decorating With Books

Today is Caught and Collared’s release day. Some call it a book birthday. Whichever you prefer, I’m celebrating. To begin the celebration, I have a prize for one commenter chosen at random. To make it easy, tell me if you listen to podcasts. Do you have a favorite? Here’s the blurb for the fourth book… Continue reading Release Day

Super Bowl LVI

We’re days away from the Super Bowl, and it’s time to celebrate. I like both the Rams and the Bengals, and I think it’ll be a fun game. My husband and I will cheer for different teams this year, but we attended different colleges so we’re used to pulling for different teams. Let’s look at… Continue reading Super Bowl LVI

Books I Read

Before joining Goodreads, I didn’t have a great way to track books I’ve read. It’s fun to see what I’ve read and chat with other readers. My goal for 2021 was to read 40 books, and I read 42 books. Yay! Here are a few fun facts gathered by Goodreads. The most popular book I… Continue reading Books I Read

Magical Gingerbread

Who could possibly do magical gingerbread better than Disney. My sweet daughter-in-law, Amanda Sturdevant, is here to share a little about Disney and gingerbread. Amanda said that there are life size houses and they smelled delicious. Lifesize gingerbread houses? Can there be anything more magical? Well, yes! Because it’s Disney World.

Gilbert’s Gingerbread Cookies

Some of you may know Gilbert’s is my favorite ice cream shop. We stopped by and discovered they have gingerbread cookies too. I bought a soft one with powder sugar sprinkled on top. Not only is it pretty, it tastes great! I also ordered another cookie that’s firmer and decorated like a turtle dove (I… Continue reading Gilbert’s Gingerbread Cookies

Gingerbread Cookies

One of the many things I love about Christmas is being able to find gingerbread cookies. I began looking for cookies the week before Christmas. It turns out the bakeries I tried before Thanksgiving have not started baking gingerbread cookies. I looked in South Carolina, Texas and Oklahoma. No luck. The first place I thought… Continue reading Gingerbread Cookies
