A Rise in Book Trends for 2018

Although we are in the middle of 2018, this year will still see a good increase in book trends. There are several book-to-movie adaptations that are coming out this year. Some include Mary, Queen of Scots, Red Sparrow, and The Little Stranger.

In 2017, Stephen King’s It placed 12th on USA Today’s best sellers list. Wonder by R. J. Palacio lead the list.

If the book trends of 2017 are any sign, the novels from adaptations this year could see a sharp increase in sales. In fact...

Mouth-Watering Plot

Whether your mouth salivates over the mere thought of a thick juicy rib eye steak marinated in honey mustard barbeque sauce, or drools over a creamy rich strawberry sundae with chocolate sprinkles, you must admit, the food industry KNOWS how to get you addicted. What are they doing? You don’t see people mainlining twinkies or selling their car to get another brownie, but still, people keep buying that stuff whether they need it or not. If only we could get people that hooked on reading our bo...

Advocate: an exploration of finding self!

What’s in a personality? Like many others, I have wondered this myself. In late 2016, I took a meyers-briggs test, and I found out that I am an Advocate, an INFJ.

Growing up, I always felt like I was the black sheep among my family and friends. I was always the weird one: the artist with a sensitive soul. When I was typed, it was like a fresh breath of air. It seemed that I was reading an answer to why I was a certain way.

Ever since my discovery, I have been trying to f...

Writers: Go from Sedentary to Fit.

Our profession offers us some benefits. One important one for me is the ability to stay at home. This allows me to be a stay-at-home mom while contributing to the household, but it also means that my once fit body wasted away into nothing.

I have somewhat of an excuse. In 2006, I was diagnosis with Poly Cystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), and with this condition, losing weight is difficult. Not only do I have to exercise, I have to watch the foods I eat.

As an author, we have a...

Beware the Cat: 5 Cat Tales to Read This Halloween

Growing up, my favorite holiday was always Halloween. There is something about this season. My favorite would be snuggling on the couch with my cat and a good horror novel.

I can’t think of a better symbol for the halloween season than the Black Cat. As my religious views changed, I also viewed this season differently. During this holiday, I honor my ancestors and the pets that I had that passed on. Many were cats.

As an animal lover, I have always loved a good tale. One of...

Cover Reveal : Timeless Souls

Over the last few months, this novel series saw some growing pains: 3 title changes, 4 timeline overhauls, a planned trilogy, and even data loss. Even the cover saw some growth.

Today, I’m unveiling my gothic erotica, Timeless Souls. Check out the blurb before you see the cover.

For Vincent Delacroix, business is a cut-throat enterprise—and his publishing company is the city’s most successful. He has a few people he considers family, but he keeps most at a distance.

For Bianca Rossi, family...

Why It’s Rude to Ask an Author About Their Sales.

How many books sales does it take to be a published author? I remember a few months ago someone asked me on deviantART how many novels I sold, and the question startled me. This was not a family member nor were they a friend. It took me aback because it was a complete stranger, someone I only knew a week. Instantly, I panicked. Am I selling enough novels? Does how many I sell prove my legitimacy as an author?
