Body is in the Eye of the Author

Do authors write their main protagonists with figures similar to their own?

Many authors write stories for the same reason readers read them and that is as a means to escape. So, if you’re large, do you create your hero/heroine with a smaller physique? Do authors automatically—naturally—create their main characters to be everything they (may) wish themselves to be? Or do they mix it up a bit?

Or do they simply go by what the story--or market--demands?

New stuff coming soon

Howdy!

For those of y'all interested, I've been reading a book that I plan to comment on sometime next week and I have 2 or 3 other books lined up. You may have heard of them before, if not, they may be books for you to check out.

But I'm still interested in hearing what YOU have to say about the things I post here or any thing YOU would like to get off your bountious chest with regard to the portrayal of fuller, bigger, fat figures in the media.

Mode Magazine and Ugly Betty

The following is a rant, so if you’re not in the mood, check back later.

OK, am I the only one who sees the irony that the magazine on Ugly Betty is called “Mode?”

How many of you ladies out there remember MODE Magazine that introduced the world to the beauty of the plus-sized woman as a cover girl and strutting her stuff in between glossy pages? I still have pictures I cut out of the magazine and put in a book because it was the first time I’d seen fashionable clothing in my size on beautiful wom

Info about "The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency" TV series

Like I said in my previous post, the TV movie aired here earlier this year on the BBC but it's being produced in conjunction with HBO. I strongly encourage any of ya'll out there who have yet to introduce yourself to The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency books to do so.
