2017 Lammy Nomination AND Moogfest

METROPOLARITY crew got news the other day that our STYLE OF ATTACK REPORT is one of eight finalists under "LGBTQ SF/F/Horror" in this year's Lambda Literary Awards.

Here is the full list of finalists in all categories:

http://www.lambdaliterary.org/feature...

Looks like we're planning to roll deep to the award ceremony in June. Update you on how it goes, ok? =}

At any rate, this status means that we can now slap a very special "Finalist" type sticker on the book. I believe this also boosts our group's EXP points up considerably.

I almost forgot to mention too that METROPOLARITY will be in Durham from May 18th through the 21st for Moogfest.

Here is the official fest About:
Since 2004, Moogfest has brought together artists, futurist thinkers, inventors, entrepreneurs, designers, engineers, scientists, and musicians.

By day, Moogfest is a platform for conversation and experimentation. This mind-expanding conference attracts creative and technology enthusiasts for three days of participatory programming in Durham, North Carolina. By night, Moogfest presents cutting-edge music in venues throughout the city. Performing artists include early pioneers in electronic music, alongside pop and avant garde experimentalists of today.

We're going to do a few workshops and a reading or two, alongside the eminent Black Quantum Futurism collective of which our own Rasheedah Phillips is a founder.

It's 26º and snowing in Philadelphia right now, with most of the premature spring blooms seemingly dead or dying.

Interesting times.

The Romance of the Colony

http://www.maskmagazine.com/the-escap...

I wrote this narrative for Mask Magazine about the persistent imperialist romance myth of “the colony” in sci-fi.

It's a story about the dreams of The Colony’s extension into outerspace/surveillance state as seen thru lens of hollywood blockbusters n anime.
