New Book WIP Title Reveal
Hey! So, after working on a few chapters, I realize I’m in. Yet another accidental book writing project. Life in the ’Cosm was an accident and so was The Stealth Lovers! And this past month, I dug up a 25-year-old manuscript that was pretty horrid—but also, not really. I’ve decided to upcycle it! I’ve swapped … More New Book WIP Title Reveal

Why I Should Listen to Madona More Often
No, that’s not a typo. I’m speaking about Canadian author Madona Skaff, not the recording artist. This post is way overdue, too. I just have to tell the world how this amazing human has impacted my life since late 2015. She told me to enjoy the journey. When I met Madona, it was at the … More Why I Should Listen to Madona More Often

Aliens who resemble humans…huh.
I’m probably one of the oddest people I know. So, yesterday, while I was working on the retooling of my 25-year-old WIP, I realized I had a lot of aliens who resembled humans. And that felt weird. In my ’Cosm series, I have people who don’t look like humans. Maybe Noola and Stewart are the … More Aliens who resemble humans…huh.

Erm…a funny thing happened when I stumbled upon a 25-year-old manuscript.
If you follow me on Twitter (@CaitGAuthor), you’d have noticed how I’ve been tweeting with the #25YearOldWIP hashtag this past week. That’s because I was looking through my file manager and came across the first manuscript I’ve ever completed. You know, the kind of work you really shouldn’t show to anyone because it’s so awful? … More Erm…a funny thing happened when I stumbled upon a 25-year-old manuscript.

Holy Aurora! I’ve some Franken-news!
So, the final ballot for the Prix Aurora Awards was just released. Although my individual short stories didn’t make it into the Short Fiction category, We Shall Be Monsters (edited by Derek Newman-Stille and published by Renaissance) is nominated for Best Related Work! This is pretty awesome because my story, The Hilltop Gathering, is in … More Holy Aurora! I’ve some Franken-news!

Oh, what the hay? Here’s the full-colour cover reveal for The Stealth Lovers.
The fantabulous Nathan Fréchette from Renaissance and I collaborated once again, and I’m so happy with the result. The greyscale version of the cover is already out in print as a promo at the back of MJ Lyons’ Murder at the World’s Fair, so, as Xax would say: What the hay? I figured I might … More Oh, what the hay? Here’s the full-colour cover reveal for The Stealth Lovers.

What To Do When You’re Not Writing Enough
First, ask yourself: What the heck does enough even mean? In my opinion, a dangerous game to play is the comparison game. Before anything else, I recommend the following self-check: Am I forcing myself to fit someone else’s writing routine? Am I putting unrealistic expectations on myself? Am I being influenced by “bullies” who tell me … More What To Do When You’re Not Writing Enough

A Healthy Pride Can Be Motivational
Sometimes it’s easy to get stuck inside my own head and be overwhelmed by all I have to do to manage my health. That’s the life of a disabled Spoonie, and I’m not the only one who feels this way or goes through this. What helps me get out of these ruts are visual reminders … More A Healthy Pride Can Be Motivational

Okay, the cat’s out of the bag!
I was going to wait on this, but anyone who purchases MJ Lyons’ novel, Murder at the World’s Fair, will see a promo for my upcoming book, The Stealth Lovers! Cover and all! Now, I’m only going to post the larger cover image (and in colour) when it’s closer to the pre-order date. I think. … More Okay, the cat’s out of the bag!

Did you pick up on the Easter eggs in Life in the ‘Cosm?
It’s been almost three years since the book was published, and a second edition will be released this fall. (See: Why there’s going to be a second edition of Life in the ’Cosm) But in both editions, there are a few Easter eggs based on my cultural heritage of Irish and Polish. Did you pick … More Did you pick up on the Easter eggs in Life in the ‘Cosm?
