Rebirth is almost scientifically proven.
1)Study about near-death experiencesMany dying people have near-death experiences. If anyone could collect all of these data and analyze, he could guess what is going to happen at death. Near-death experience should categorize correctly according to the person type. Such as who see fires (marks of hell worlds), who see forest (marks of animal realm), Asking for food (marks of ghost world), Who see red color (marks of human womb), Who see flowers and heavenly mentions (marks of heavenly worlds). So there may be lot of types.Below explanation describes how dying being experience marks of next life, moment(some times several days) before the death. Consciousness is something like a computer program. A computer program processes something with huge number of instruction cycles. Similar way, there is an ultimate entity for consciousness (called as Citta). But life time of Citta very smaller than to a computer instruction cycles time (I guess this is the Planck time. So completely different scale we can’t even think). During the life we usually do some activities and we have infinite number of non-ending Citta stream (genaration). Don’t get it wrong this Citta stream doesn’t stop at even when we sleep. Also, it doesn’t stop at even death. When our last Citta vanish from the body next Citta start in a new life without any delay even new birth is at another solar system. What we usually do every day is what we remind (Consciousness) at death. New life is depending on what we strongly remind at death. When our Citta stream ready for next life it shows the qualities of our next life. What is giving charity (or donation) and how to get the best possible result (good Karma) from a donation?
When you do a giving (as a donation), to become a powerful good Karma (to get better return in the cycle of rebirth) there are three factors. First one is Chiththa-Sampaththiya, it means giving with a clear mind and believes that there’s a resulting Karma. As much as he knows about case and effect (Karma), result is powerful in good side. Before the giving, when giving and after the giving, the mind should be clear and happy about it. There should be no hidden goal such as becoming famous by giving. If you have a goal of becoming famous by giving, then the resulting Karma is less powerful. It is said that if someone gives with the mind of "With this good Karma I may receive eternal happiness (Nirvana)" it is the best possible giving that can support you in the cycle of rebirth. "With this good Karma I may rebirth in a heaven" is not that good. The second one is Vasthu-Sampaththiya. It means giving thing should be correctly received your own thing. Also the things you are giving should be arranged in a better way, you should give in a honorable way, you should give by your own hand, you should give something that is not useless (If you give a useless thing still there is a result but not a better result). Third thing is Prathigrahaka-Sampathhiya. It means the receiving person should have a good virtue., the best possible receiver is a Lord Buddha with Sangha (Sanghika Dana). If you could give one spoon of food to a Lord Buddha, the Karma from that deed is enough to be in heavens for many eons and become human king for more than 1000 times. But giving Dharma (ultimate reality) knowledge is the most powerful giving. It is said that giving Dharma knowledge is better than giving life (protecting his life). If you do a giving without knowing these things, there is a result but not a good one.
But when you are killing if you know about Karama the bad result is reduced, since you are afraid of killing. When you kill with a wicked and angry mind the result is powerful in a bad way. When you kill a large animal you have to put great effort. So when it is large, Karama is powerful in a bad form. Also, Karama will be powerful in a bad form when the receiver is virtuous. No one (a god, Mara or a Brahma) can kill a Lord Buddha so the result is not explained. There are many stories where people went to hells just by blaming Lord Buddha.
Giving without seeking anything in return leads to greater spiritual wealth and it reduces the greed (Lobha), But giving with the mind of "With this good Karma I may receive eternal happiness Nirvana"(without expecting any worldly things) is the best as it returns good deeds in the cycle of rebirth and also help to achieve Nirvana. To reach eternal happiness, all beings must complete Giving in some level as Pāramitā. To attain the Buddhahood, anyone must fulfill giving (donation/Dānapāramī) in grate (unthinkable) manner in three ways. Regular Perfection(Pāramī), Higher Perfection (UpaPāramī) and Highest perfection (ParamatthaPāramī).Giving out some objects(outside of the body) such as wives, children, assets are Dānapāramī; giving organs such as hands, feet, ,etc., is the DānaUpaPāramī; giving own life is DānaParamatthaPāramī.
Lord Buddha may have donated only blood more than the amount of the sea to complete the necessary Pāramī in the cycle of rebirth (Only after receiving prediction from the Dīpankara Buddha as "In a future aeon [world cycle] you will become a Buddha named Gautama." while living as an ascetic named Sumedha ). So, how about other donations, Buddha have donated his wives, sons, daughters, eyes, also their own life numerous times to complete only the Dāna-Paramita. When we talk only about Buddha's giving of children as servants (as thinking "I may become a Buddha by this good Karma" without any angry mind), if all hand tied strings (by others) collected it will become a huge mountain. There is a nice story as 'Sivi-Jathaka' in 'Jataka Tales'. In this story King Sivi donated both of his eyes.

Religion is going to win over Science? Science Is Excellent for Us. But, What's Science for Someone Who Has Seen Humans for Millions of Years?
Science is the knowledge developed based on logical thinking of scientists and their experiments. It is consistently changing. It has frame of references and approximations. There are no answers to the most basic questions about nature in the science. Such as, What's the simplest unit (fundamental particle) of all substances?, What Exactly Is the size or age of the universe?, how can the brain and mind work? Does life exist solely on Earth? etc. Buddhism has clear answers for all these questions. Buddhism is the ultimate truth without any frame of reference. Buddhism (reality or Dharma) does not change with time (Akaliko), it truly is to be understood and realized by the shrewd in accordance with their own amount of wisdom (Paccattam-veditabbo-vinnuhi).
If a man born blind touches an elephant's tail, he will think that tail is the complete elephant since he can't feel other parts of the elephant. In the similar way, if Buddhism (reality/truth) is an elephant, science can be treated / dealt as its tail which may be comprehended by the blind man.
Science makes this world to a place that is more unsatisfied. Let's say we don't have the TV and commercials; then individuals will be pleased with what they have.
Science is nothing when in comparison to the well-developed human's (or god's) mind with meditation. Non-Buddhist ascetic meditator who has well-developed supernormal powers (mind based powers / Rddhi) could make a physical technology far advanced than current human's technology and science. But, when a meditator reaches to higher level of meditation, he will aware that what a useless thing is physical technology. And he will know that with physical technology humans can't get happiness but humans will get more suffers since physical technology. So, he will not develop such a useless technology as in his view. Even if such an ascetic meditator developed an advanced technology, many humans will not be able to get physical sensuous happiness from that according to Karmic lows. Ven. Sariputta Thero (the most intelligent individual [Arahant/Nobel being] among all the disciples) was able to count how many raindrops that would fall if it rains for an entire eon of time with his mind. So, we can't even think of the Lord Buddha's mind ability. Can super computer model and count raindrops fall in one day accurately? So, according to Buddhism, the human mind has a computation capability greater than a supercomputer once concentrated with meditation (with higher level of Dhyana), and I believe that. The computer is nothing, and that is why there aren't any computers in paradise worlds.
In the foreseeable future, humans will be ruined as a result of their science (Sashthrantha-Kalpa / Mass extinction by wars). Wicked humans with powerful weapons, anyone can guess what will happen then.
Shoot the big picture of science. It is a baby less than several hundred years old. Can any scientist ensure this will not occur? From tomorrow, All electronic equipment devices (most are made from silicon wafers) in the world cease operating due to some kind of radiation came from our sun? The response is NO. I've read somewhere that there was a human civilization ever that developed a technology with Lead (chemical element), but afterwards, the entire culture died due to the toxin of Lead. I believe that when Lead was being used by them, they may have thought they had the highest technology. Also, science has tested only under very limited conditions. Our physical science may be completely invalid in another solar system. Let's believe God Jesus (Catumaharajika Gods life is about 9,000,000 human years) exist and he is watching humans and then he will see that science is something like a child playing in the dark. Gods know humans will be ruined by killing each other. Their life expectancy will go down to ten years.
Science makes this world to a place that is more unsatisfied. Also, Internet (especially social networking websites) and smart-phones make human minds more diversified in considerable amount without any rest. So, compared to old human's, the current individual's mind is more diversified (roaming and feeble). Toxic gasses, poisoned foods, different kinds of radiations, different kinds of desires, and unknown sickness are effects of science.
Actually, Buddhism is the cosmic or universal science which is valid in any solar system in the infinite universe. Intelligent Gods know the mind is the main and the most powerful thing. During the world forming and destroying cycles, at the end of time of emptiness (Wiwatta-Sthayi-Kalpa), higher Brahma Gods think that it is better if below worlds form again. Since the power of this wish world started to form. When living beings (humans and Gods) get exalted with lust (Rága), malice (Dosa) or delusion (Moha) the world start to destroy. (Please read my book "Theories of Nature and the Universe" for more information). So, even the world system form and destroys since the power of mind. Humans do not know the ability of the mind, so they do not treat Buddhism as the science. If any equipment like a computer is more powerful compared to the mind, Lord Buddha really makes a computer come second with his supernormal (Rddhi) power. Additionally, an atomic bomb will be seen as a matchstick by a strong God.
Non-Buddhist ascetic meditator who has well-developed supernormal powers can turn a forest to a desert in one curse (a true Buddhist monk who's only goal is to reach Nirvana, will never curse even their life gone, since it is a very bad Karma). Also such an ascetic meditator can stop the movement of the sun. So when humans are very virtuous, current physical laws become invalid. But when humans become wicked without mental powers, no powerful Karmic forces or supernormal things happen. Then it is more visible that physical laws govern the nature, since small Karmas or mental powers can't directly interact with physical things. Humans will be wicked and mentally weak in the future. So, there will not be powerful Karmas as no virtues persons and there will not be supernormal thing as humans are mentally weak. So, miracles like soil become gold will not happen and physical lows will valid without any obstacle.

What is the time? Is time travel possible?
Answer from the book; "Theories of the Nature and Universe: Comparison of Pure Buddhist Philosophy and Science"
There are two types of realities. Apparent reality and ultimate reality.
Apparent reality is ordinary conventional truth or something that is generally accepted (Sammuti-sacca) but not ultimately exist. For an example, you are a vast combination of Nāma(Chitta and Cetasika ) and Rūpa. So, there is no ultimate thing as you. But, you exist as a conventional truth and generally accepted.
Ultimate reality is abstract truth (Paramattha- sacca). Their nature or characteristic never change. It is real for forever. They can‘t change to other things with further subdividing.
In the whole infinite universe only four types of ultimate things are exist. Those are:
1. Consciousness entity (called as Chitta)
2. Consciousness states entity (called as Cetasika)
3. Ultimate entity of matter (Rūpa or Rūpa Kalapa)
4. Nirvana
These four entities cannot be further subdivided. This is the most fundamental thing of Abhidhamma.
Time is not an ultimately existing thing. It is only a concept or an illusion. Only the present exist. Past and future are just concepts or illusions. So, time travel is not possible.
