[image error] This week the weather has been up and down! And now it's down again. I woke up two hours later than normal this morning and I'm totally blaming it on the cold. My Canadian friend would laugh at my use of this word but to me, 66 degrees in the house is friggin chilly! Normally I'd be annoyed at losing all that writing time but the man is going to be away all weekend hunting (I live in the South and bow season just started...I'll be lucky to see him the next couple months) so my computer time just opened way up. Maybe I should miss him more, but uh, yeah, I'm super excited to have all this free time with my keyboard! Besides, absence makes the heart grow fonder, right?


I'll post a reminder next week but this upcoming Monday through Wednesday I'll be blogging at Desert Island Keepers! Since it's October it seems only fitting that I talk about all things paranormal. I might even tell a true story involving me, an old house, fire, and some creepy ass paranormal activity. Intrigued? No? Stop by the blog anyway!

Today is Canada's Thanksgiving! Something I might not have known if not for my fabulous friend, Kaylea Cross. She just informed me she's about to have her second turkey helping. Since I just had blah leftovers, I'm a bit jealous! So, Happy Turkey day to all you wonderful Canadians. Seriously, have you ever met a Canadian you didn't like? I haven't. They don't even jaywalk. Talk about pure awesome :)

I'm Back!

Technically I was back home yesterday but I was too tired to blog. The Moonlight & Magnolias conference last weekend was really good, though I don't know if I'd do it again. The Saturday workshop with Michael Hauge was amazing though. If you're a writer and ever have a chance to attend, I hope you do. I got back on Sunday and thanks to the fabulous Manda Collins, the drive seemed uber short. I haven't known her that long and when traveling with someone for the first time I'm always a bit nervous. She likes to travel the same way I do so it was all good. Only gas/bathroom stops but nothing else. :)


As soon as I got back, I had to catch up on laundry, repack, and head to New Orleans the next day. My CP's husband planned a big surprise anniversary trip for them and I was part of the surprise. Her shocked face when she saw me was priceless. She (Kaylea Cross) was sitting in Jackson Square when I showed up and blinked a few times until she realized what was going on. I spent two days with them and they're so much fun. We did a couple tours and the geek in me had a blast! The ghost tour was more of a history tour and I hope to blog about a couple of the stories I heard because they're interesting if a bit gruesome. They'll be staying with us tomorrow night so I still have to clean the house. The man isn't exactly messy but he's not tidy either (even though he claims he is!!). I came home to loads of clothes that need to be put up and a bunch of dishes. Ah, fun stuff.


Ooh, while in NO I stayed at the Crescent City Guest house and while their website isn't much to look at, I loved the place. Even though it was right on the outskirts of the French Quarter, as a woman traveling alone, I felt completely safe walking the two blocks to the main downtown area. I promise to blog about it and the tours later! I finally understand why so many paranormal authors place their stories in New Orleans! :)


Now I really do have a lot of stuff to catch up on! Saturday I'll be joining Cynthia Eden's Halloween month long blog party and giving away a book from my back list so if you get a chance, stop by!

Gearing up for the Weekend

I know it's early but I'm getting ready for the weekend already! I'll be going to my first writing conference so I'm trying to get my pitch ready (thank you to the friends who've already helped me out!) and figure out what clothes I'm bringing. Currently my bed is covered with clothes. I pulled out skirts and cardigans I haven't worn in forever so they're going to be getting some good use. The man is at work so he has a surprise when he gets home, lol. Hopefully I'll narrow it down and clean ...

Audible!

[image error] Last month I discovered how awesome Audible.com is. There are a few other similar sites but Audible seems to be the best option for me. I have an iPod shuffle (iPod's mini version) so it's perfect. See the pink one on top of that stack? Same kind and color of the one I have! I was a little worried there wouldn't be enough space, but shuffle has no problem holding all my songs and 5+ extra hours of an audio book. Thankfully Audible breaks books down into parts.
