Desire Unleashed Out Today

My alter ego has a release today. Desire Unleashed, the 5th book in my Miami Scorcher series is finally here. It's a short story (Quickie length) and one I loved writing. Here's the official blurb:

Turned into a shifter against his will, Ethan Connell would have died if the Lazos pack hadn't given him shelter. While he's grateful to them all, there's one she-wolf he can't get out of his head. Sweet, sensuous Caro, who not only saved his life but sets his body on fire and triggers his every possessive instinct. But she's made it clear she wants only his friendship.

At first he scoffs at the idea and after six months of biding his time, he makes his move. Instead of rejection, she meets him with a passion he's only dreamed about, and Ethan knows he's playing for keeps. If only she'll let him…

Available now from Ellora's Cave! Hope everyone has a great weekend :)

Authors 4 the Cure - Entangled out Now!

My buddy Cynthia Eden is part of a fabulous anthology with a bunch of other really fab authors (Allison Brennan who I love!!). Their book, Entangled, is out now for $2.99 and all the proceeds are going toward breast cancer research. My mother in law (who I love dearly!) had a really tough battle with breast cancer but luckily came through it so I'm definitely a supporter of this kind of research.

Here's the official press release (which I copied directly from Cynthia Eden's blog):

Authors4TheCure Donating Book Proceeds To Breast Cancer Research

Eleven authors have banded together to support breast cancer research with their writing. Authors4theCure, which includes award-winning and New York Times bestselling authors, as well as two breast cancer survivors, is donating proceeds from the sale of their paranormal anthology, Entangled, to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF).

BCRF-funded research has helped save lives and improved the quality of care and rate of survival for tens of thousands of breast cancer patients in the past decade. Their research has revealed that the "cure" is a mosaic made up of as many approaches to diagnosing, treating, preventing and surviving as there are different types of breast cancer. The anthology is also a mosaic made up of many stories donated for this worthwhile cause.

Entangled includes ten suspense-filled paranormal stories from authors Lori Brighton, Michelle Diener, Cynthia Eden, Jennifer Estep, Misty Evans, Nancy Haddock, Liz Kreger, Dale Mayer, Michelle Miles, and Edie Ramer, plus a novella by Allison Brennan. Stacia Kane contributed the foreword and the book's formatting and cover art were also donated to the project.

Entangled will release September 12, 2011, and it will available as an ebook at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Smashwords and other online retailers.

More details on each story included:

HALLOWEEN FROST by USA Today bestselling author Jennifer Estep (author of the Mythos Academy, Elemental Assassin, and Bigtime series) — It's Halloween at Mythos Academy, but Gwen Frost and her friends are in for more tricks than treats when they run into a mythological monster intent on killing them.

THE FAT CAT by Edie Ramer (author of Cattitude, Galaxy Girls) — In a battle for the souls of seven women, a wizard has the god of war on his side; all the witch has is a fat, black cat.

MEDIUM RARE by Nancy Haddock (author of the Oldest City Vampire trilogy) —What's spooking the spirits of St. Augustine? As the witching hour of Halloween approaches, ghost seer Colleen Cotton must team with a by-the-book paranormal investigator to locate the one ghost who can save the city's specters. If she fails, her own great grandfather's spirit may be lost forever.

SWEET DEMON by Misty Evans (author of the Witches Anonymous series) —When Chicago's vampire king insists Kali Sweet join his empire, the vengeance demon must rely on her ex – the half-human, half-chaos demon who left her at the altar three hundred years ago – in order to escape the vamp's clutches.

SIAN'S SOLUTION by Dale Meyer (author of the Psychic Visions series) — When a vampire discovers the human man she loves has been captured and hung in a blood farm, she goes against her own kind and risks everything to save him.

A BIT OF BITE by Cynthia Eden (author of NEVER CRY WOLF and ANGEL OF DARKNESS) — A killer is stalking the streets of Crossroads, Mississippi, and it's up to Sheriff Ava Dushaine to stop him. But when suspicion falls on werewolf alpha Julian Kasey—Ava's ex-lover and the man who still haunts her dreams—Ava knows that she'll either have to prove his innocence…or watch the whole town go up in flames.

SINFULLY SWEET by Michelle Miles (author of the Coffee House series) — When Chloe bakes a little magic into her pastries, she attracts the attention of Edward, the sexy half-demon, half-witch, who's come to warn her those who murdered her sister are now after her.

A NIGHT OF FOREVER by Lori Brighton (author of A Night of Secrets and To Seduce an Earl) — Who is Aidan Callaghan? Mary Ellen James is intent on uncovering the truth about the mysterious man, but as she soon finds out, some things are best left buried in the past.

FEEL THE MAGIC by Liz Kreger (author of the Part of Tomorrow series) — Jenna Carmichael's magical attempt to rectify Jessica Manfield's birth identity takes an unexpected turn when the past comes back to haunt her.

BREAKING OUT by Michelle Diener (author of the Tudor-set historical suspense novel In A Treacherous Court) — Imprisoned in a secret facility, powerful telekinetic Kelli Barrack and two other 'special' inmates grab a chance to escape, only to confront their worst nightmares on the outside.

GHOSTLY JUSTICE, an all-new Seven Deadly Sins novella by New York Times bestselling author Allison Brennan (author of the Seven Deadly Sins series) — Demon hunters Moira O'Donnell and Rafe Cooper are dragged into the dangerous world of nocturnal predators to find "Ghostly Justice" for a virgin sacrificed to an ancient blood demon.

This book is only $2.99 and the cause is so great! I really hope you check it out.

Contest Updates and More

I can't believe it's September already! In fact, I *ahem* almost forgot to pay the rent because I was still deeply ensconced in August. The summer flew by at light speed this year, probably because of my new baby (who is changing every day!). My mom is arriving in town tonight because two months is too long to go w/out seeing her first grandchild ;) Even though we'll probably be house-bound because of all the torrential rains, I'm so excited to see her. Since this month crept up on me I figured it was way past time for some updates:

Starting next Tuesday (9/6) I'm going to be blogging two days out of the month with a bunch of other fantastic paranormal authors at the Darker Temptations blog. We'll be having a scavenger hunt with awesome prizes too so check the blog later today. I believe the post should be up soon.

On 9/7 I'll be at Desert Island Keepers and on 9/8 I'll be at Magical Musings guest blogging and giving away prizes!

I still don't have a cover for Destined Mate, my upcoming release with Harlequin Nocturne Cravings, but I do have a release date; October 1, 2011!

And finally, starting October 5 - 31, I'll be having guest authors every day of the month for my Monster Mash-Up party. More details will follow in the next couple weeks! Now I must get back to edits. Hope everyone has a fun, safe weekend :)

Release Day!

Deadly Obsession is out today from Carina Press!

The chilling words of a killer: This is just the beginning…

Ten years ago, Lilly Carmichael left town without an explanation, breaking Braden Donnelly's heart. The death of her aunt has brought Lilly home–and face to face with memories she thought were long buried. Still getting over a traumatic incident from her work as an NSA agent, Lilly initially dismisses the face at her window as a figment of stress-induced paranoia.

Now the sheriff of Hudson Bay, Braden has spent the last year hunting a sadistic murderer. But his investigation is turned upside down when new evidence indicates that Lilly is the killer's next target. Determined to protect the woman he's never stopped loving, Braden must race against the clock to trap a dangerous psychopath—before it's too late…

This 80,000 word dark romantic suspense is also available from Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Audible (audio format). If you'd like a chance to win a copy of Deadly Obsession I'm guest blogging at Manic Readers and Writers Gone Wild today and giving away a copy at each blog.

Plagiarism is a Crime

Plagiarism is not a nameless, faceless crime. If you're on twitter or facebook you might have seen that the very talented author Cynthia Eden has been plagiarized on a scale that is disgusting. A person calling themselves Misconception76 posted Cynthia's entire book of Deadly Heat on a fan fiction site here. She changed the names of the characters, stating that she was using Bella and Edward from Twilight and wasn't intending any copyright infringement. Too bad she stole all of Cynthia Eden's work and posted it as her own. The entire story can be read here at Cynthia's blog. The thing that pisses me off the most is the thief's extra notes at the end of various chapters stating how much research she was doing and how hard she was working. Yeah, must have been real hard to copy and paste. Absolutely awful!

Luckily Cynthia has a lot of fans (myself being one) and someone alerted her to this issue. Hopefully this will be resolved soon and her publisher will take care of things!
