Happy Mother's Day #giveaway #kindle

Hope everyone is having a wonderful Mother's Day! This is my first one as a mom so it's pretty special. My husband and son made me the cutest card (which you can see here) with my son's hand and foot print! Since I don't live close to my mom we're taking my mother-in-law out for brunch then just spending the rest of the day vegging out at home. I'm looking forward to a peaceful day. Whatever you do today I hope it's special!

As a Mother's Day special I decided to mark down Danger in Paradise to .99 cents for the next week! If you haven't read it, now is your chance. :)

Happy Mother's Day!

Tabby's Nocturnal Nights blog is doing a huge ebook giveaway of 80 books to one author, including a copy of Protector's Mate. And you don't have to be a mother to enter ;) Click here for a chance to win! Good luck and I hope everyone has a wonderful Mother's Day weekend.

My husband is taking the baby to the in-laws for dinner tonight so I can get a few hours of uninterrupted quiet and time to work. I'm deep in edits for book 3 in my Moon Shifter series and want to take a big chunk out of them tonight!

Primal Possession Virtual Signing!

Exciting news! For the release of Primal Possession, my second book in the Moon Shifter series, I'm doing my first ever virtual signing. And this is open internationally! I'll be ordering books from my local book store, autographing and personalizing them, and mailing them out to those who have ordered on September 4, 2012 (or more likely a couple days early). The virtual signing is live and will be open until August 1, 2012 to the first 300 people. Complete details and instructions on how to order can be found here .

If you have any questions about the virtual signing that you can't find in the instructions, feel free to contact me.

Hope everyone has a great weekend! Mine will be spent at the zoo and aquarium. No work for me this weekend (well, maybe I'll sneak in some on Sunday night) ;)

Updates!

My little one has decided that sleeping the night through is overrated so…I figured now was a great time for some updates! Currently I’m busy working on page proofs for Primal Possession. It amazes me that after so many different sets of eyes have looked at this manuscript that we still missed small things. And it’s not necessarily typos. For example, there’s a scene where December is eating out of a bowl and then a few paragraphs later she looks down at her ‘plate’. This is why there are different sets of edits, to get everything as perfect as possible. It’s been a while since I’ve read the story so I’m enjoying looking at it with fresh eyes.
I’m falling in love with Liam and December again (okay, I never stopped loving them!). They’re such a great couple and I can’t wait until their story is out. I also just received edits for book #3 in the Moon Shifter series so I’m working on those too. And, since some of you have asked I’m also working on Grant’s story (Porter’s brother from No One to Trust). It’s mostly plotted and I’ve finished the first chapter. So far I love what’s developing. I’ll post more details on my website and here when I have them. Until I’ve finished with page proofs and edits the story will be taking a backseat.
In other news my little one is now walking. Nine months is early but I was an early walker so it wasn’t completely unexpected. Of course we’ve only baby-proofed half the house but we’ve put up gates until we can complete the rest. :)
What I’ve been reading lately: The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie by Jennifer Ashley and She Can Run by Melinda Leigh. I also finished listening to And One Last Thing by Molly Harper and loved it. Ironically I’d held off on downloading it and even contemplated not buying it at all because I was afraid it would be too different from her paranormal stuff. Nope. Still hilarious and it’s one of my favorite books by her. How to Flirt With a Naked Werewolf will likely always be my favorite book of hers but this one takes a close second. And now I've read everything by her and am desperately waiting for her next release which I think is this summer :)
So, what has everyone else been reading?

Kaylea Cross's Newest Release

My friend Kaylea Cross has a release a week from now (4/23) that I'm incredibly excited about! Kaylea is known for writing realistic and fast-paced romantic suspense and now she's dipped her toes (okay, jumped feet first!) into the paranormal waters. Darkest Caress, her first paranormal release will be out next Monday. Since she's my critique partner I was lucky enough to see this in the original draft and since she loves me, she sent me an ARC so I got to see the final, freaking amazing book! I'm giving away a copy over at my facebook page so if you want a chance to win (and seriously, you want to read this book!) hop on over there!

Darkest Caress:

Two-hundred-year-old Daegan Blackwell is one of the last remaining Empowered, an ancient magical race. Daegan's duty is to lead and protect his remaining Brethren in the coming war foretold by prophecy. The last thing he expects is to meet the one woman who will either save or destroy him—his destined mate.

Fiercely independent Realtor Olivia Farrell believes darkly handsome Daegan is simply a prospective client. Until she's attacked by a man with a strange aura—and Daegan fights him off, taking away her pain with just his touch. At first, Olivia refuses to believe she's part of a magical race, yet mounting evidence and her powerful chemistry with Daegan are too strong to deny.

But as Daegan's partner, Olivia becomes a target in the battle between good and evil that threatens her life, as well as the very existence of the Empowered. And the only one who can save her is the man claiming to be her destiny...

Spring Into Romance #giveaway

I guess it's officially Spring now that it's April! I apologize for being so quiet for over a week but I was sick with what I'm sure was the flu. Well technically I'm still a little under the weather but the worst is gone and I'm at least functioning and returning emails again. Thanks to drinking quite a bit of Mina Khan's special garlic/honey tea (which sounds gross I know) I'm feeling a hundred times better.

Today I'm a guest at Reading Between the Wines as part of their 'Spring Into Romance' celebration. For my blog day I'm sharing some 'love letters' (notice the quotes!) between Felicia and Alaric from Protector's Mate. If you've read the paranormal novella then I think this will be very entertaining, but if not don't worry there aren't any spoilers. This is just a cute blog showing their personalities. And if you haven't read it yet you have a chance to win a copy so I hope to see you there!

Protector's Mate is Now Available!

Protector's Mate is officially available today from Harlequin Nocturne Cravings!

The idea for Protector's Mate came to me out of personal experience, which is a rare thing in my writing. Years ago when my husband was in the military (we were engaged at the time) he was sent to Africa for about 5 1/2 months and we emailed each other every chance we got, sometimes multiple times a day. Looking back, I can't believe we had that much to say to each other. Even though I was newly engaged and crazy in love with him, we still had a lot to learn about each other. Thanks to those emails we got to know each other faster than I think we would have had he not been living overseas. There's a sort of freedom in being completely yourself when writing letters whether they're typed or handwritten.

In Protector's Mate the two main characters, Felicia and Alaric, get to know one another largely through email while she's in Afghanistan working as a nurse. This all happens before the actual story starts but it sets the stage for how well they know each other when the story opens. I drew on my experience when I created their background so maybe that's why this story is so special to me.

Protector's Mate

After two years in a war zone, werewolf Felicia Serna has finally returned to find another pack has taken over her territory…and the new second-in-command is the very man who haunts her fantasies.

Alaric has wanted Felicia from the moment he laid eyes on her, and now he's ready to claim her. When a threatening shifter begins stalking them, he's determined to protect her…even if it means putting his seduction on hold. But even in the heat of danger, their red-hot passion cannot be denied.

Available as an ebook from all major digital retailers including Harlequin, Amazon, Barnes & Noble and Books on Board.
