The Social Justice Translator
So, I’m new to the world of social justice and am still learning all the lingo, but after asking someone who considers themselves an authority on the matter, I managed to get some explanations that I’ve attempted to translate for the “non-woke” individuals out there. If anyone else can think of any other funny translations for terms like this, please PLEASE add them in the comments because they make me giggle.

Does “Free Will” Exist?
This is an argument that I’m still working on so please tell me if or where you think I’m wrong here.
1 – Anything that is restricted, limited, regulated, or is contained in any way cannot be fully free.
2 – In order to have “will” there needs to be a being, be it biological or A.I. system, that has, creates, or acts upon it.
3 – These beings, either biological or A.I. systems, are either restricted, limited, regulated, or contained in some way.
4 – Although these beings can have more or less of these restrictions, limitation, regulations or be more or less contained in given circumstances or contexts, some form of these things will still be a part of these systems.
Therefore, “Free” will, defined here as being fully free, does or cannot exist.

Release date: TODAY!
Price: $4.99 or KU
Description blurb:
The decision to start a new life is never an easy one, but for Joe the transition was far from figurative. Becoming a permanent addition to a game world, it doesn’t take long to learn that people with his abilities are actively hunted. In fact, if the wrong people gained knowledge of what he was capable of, assassins would appear in droves.
In his pursuit of power, Joe fights alongside his team, completes quests, and delves into the mysteries of his class, which he quickly discovers can only be practiced in secret. Ultimately, his goal is to complete every mission, master every ability, and learn all of the world’s secrets. All he has to do is survive long enough to make that happen.
A LitRPG/GameLit story for fans of video games and epic fantasy!

My Kinda Geek Recommendations
[image error]I love recommendation websites. I find them the best way to learn about new books to try. My Kinda Geek is a website I discovered on Facebook that is building a great list of “If you like that then you should try this” recommendations, which if you’re like me and look for things similar to what you’ve enjoyed in the past, is the most effective and direct way to try media that will most likely be up your alley.
For those of you have been on this site before, you might think me a little biased being on the list, but several of the books recommended like Monkey’s Luck and Thrill Kings are books I have read and reviewed well in the past as well. However, the best thing about the website is that it’s still growing, so if you have something that relates to a book that people enjoy and want to add it to the list you can send the site’s owner an email and have your own recommendation put up!
Either way, it can be found at sciencefantasyhub.com and I recommend giving it a look.

Top 5 Ways to Break Final Fantasy VIII
#5. Drawing Magic from the Islands Closest to Heaven and Hell
This is #5 because it can’t be accessed until Disc 3 and I want to focus on breaks early on in the game. On these islands are multiple draw points for Ultima, Full-Life, Meteor, Triple, and Aura, all of the best Junctioning magic (except for Pain and Meltdown which I will cover in #1). Enc-None will allow you to quickly draw from them and hop from one island to another. Do both islands between the events of Disc 3 to let the draw points refresh. Once you have 100 of each, Junction the magic you drew and your massive stat increase will show you why this aspect of the game is broken.
#4. Increasing Crisis Level for Multi-Hit Limit Breaks
The ultimate damage cap for a single hit attack is 60K but several characters have multi-hit Limit Breaks. With Irvine and Zell, you can physically control the number of hits dealt with a single Limit Break. Access to them and the length of time you have to execute them is determined by Crisis Level. Using Aura, which are refined with Supt Mag-RF from Steel Pipes that you can get from Elastoid Cards or by fighting Wendigos, or increasing your HP early by refining Tents into Curagas with L Mag-RF and staying below the 10% mark are easy ways to increase your Crisis Level. Stacking these with Status Effects can allow Zell’s Limit Break to reach damage limits up into the millions by repeating the two button combos.
#3. Not Leveling to keep Enemy Levels Low
Monsters and bosses scaling in difficulty with the average level of your active party isn’t a broken game mechanic by itself. In FFVIII, however, character stats increase more by Junctioning magic, and because of the powerful magic you can get early on by means I will outline in #1, the Junctioning system is very broken. Not gaining experience by escaping battles can make you OP enough to one-hit both monsters and bosses. Because bosses don’t give EXP, you can complete the entire game without gaining a single level by either carding or casting Break to petrify monsters in the unavoidable, inescapable battles.
#2. Refining Cards into Items that give GF Stat-Boosts
Zell’s Card, which you can win from Ma Dincht right after you return from the Dollet Mission, refines into 3 Hyper Wrists, each one can teach a GF Str+60%. Before leaving for Timber, you can win the Mini-Mog Card from the running kid in Balamb Garden and then lose it to the Card Queen in Balamb. If you talk to her after losing, she will say she’s heading to Dollet. If you talk to her about her father in the Dollet Pub you can then win the Kiros Card from the man in black standing on the side of the street in Deling City. The Kiros Card refines into 3 Accelerators, each one being able to teach a GF the Auto-Haste ability.
#1. Refining Cards into Items that Refine into Magic
Gayla Cards refine into Mystery Fluid, which with ST Mag-RF, refine into 10 Meltdowns, which (besides Ultima & Triple) is the best Junctioning spell for Vitality. Tri-Face Cards refine into Curse Spikes, which with ST Mag-RF, refine into 10 Pains, which (besides Triple and Ultima) is the best Junctioning spell for Magic. The Quistis Card (which you can get from the back Trepe Groupie in the Cafeteria at the start of the game) refines into 3 Samantha Souls, which refines into 60 Triples each. Prioritize learning Quetzalcoatl’s Card Mod and Diablos’ Time Mag-RF and you can get the second best Junctioning spell before you even leave for Timber.
Those are the top 5 ways to break Final Fantasy VIII. You can also get the Lion Heart on Disc 1 (there are youtube walkthroughs for that) but considering the Limit Break it gives is also determined by Crisis Level, I’d consider that a part of #4: Increasing Crisis Level for Multi-Hit Limit Breaks.
