AO: Evolution is live on Audible!

As the title suggests, Awaken Online: Evolution is live on Audible!  Happy reading!  Or listening, I suppose…

ACX and Audible weren’t able to process the audio pre-order in some marketplaces (Germany and Canada, for example).  However, I’ve been told that the audiobook should be available in these marketplaces soon.

In other news, Awaken Online: Apathy (following Eliza’s origin story) is complete and has been sent off to the narrator.  I’m tentatively planning to release the ebook, print, and audio near the end of July or early August.  It will just depend on how long it takes to the prepare the audio.  I’m super excited about this one and can’t wait to hear what you all think!

AO: Evolution Audio and Apathy Update

First off, AO: Evolution is now available for pre-order on Audible.  The official release date is July 11th.

I had to delay the release of the audio a little bit since ACX wanted to run some sort of new promotion.  They’re hoping that this will give the series more visibility — which is definitely a good thing!  I tried to push up the release as much as possible, but this was the best I could do.  They also mentioned that pre-orders are super important, so it would be awesome if you all could drop an early credit and/or tell your friends!

In other news, we’re making great headway on editing AO: Apathy and July is looking like a real possibility for release.  It’s also looking like the final manuscript will clock in at 85K words.  So a normal-sized book by most people’s standards.  If you want to check out the first 8 chapters, they are available here (unedited).  I’m also releasing new chapters twice per week (Mondays and Fridays) on my Patreon until release.

AO: Evolution Print is Available

The print edition for AO: Evolution is up — it’s just not linked on the ebook product page yet.  This usually takes Amazon a couple of days.

If you would like a signed copy, you can place an order at this link!  Just FYI, it’ll take about two weeks until the inventory gets delivered to me.

I should also have an ETA on audio next week and I’ll be sure to make another post!

AO: Evolution is Live!

It turns out Amazon went a little crazy and put up Awaken Online: Evolution within 45 minutes of me hitting the “publish” button — which has to be some sort of record.  The good news is that you all get it a little early!  It clocked in at a whopping 768 pages in print, so it might even take you all a couple of hours to devour it!

We ran into some delays with audio for AO: Evolution, but it’s already in production and the audiobook should be out sometime in June.  I’ll make another post once I have a more firm date.  The print edition should hopefully be up sometime next week and I’ll add the option to purchase signed copies to my store pretty soon.

I hope you enjoy the next installment and please don’t forget to leave a review!  Those things are incredibly helpful for a little indie guy like myself.

In slightly other news, the draft of AO: Apathy is complete (a side novel following Eliza — who you all are about to meet!) and we’ve moved onto editing.  So it might be possible to get that one out in June or July.

Finish Line in Sight!

Hey everyone!  So we’re getting really close to the launch date for AO: Evolution.  The ebook will go live on May 28th – or at least I’ll hit publish then.  It may take Amazon some time to set up the book page.  Print will follow closely.  Again, I’m a bit limited by Amazon’s processing times so I can’t get the releases perfectly in sync.

Audio is still in production and we ran into some small delays.  The audiobook will likely be out sometime in June.  I can’t offer a more definitive release date yet, but I’ll post an update once I have a firm ETA.

Finally, the ebook releases tomorrow on my Patreon for my $5+ patrons!  So you can snag an early copy if you are so inclined – or are terribly impatient like me.

AO: Evolution is Coming!

I just wanted to give a quick update.  We are making great progress on editing AO: Evolution and May is looking likely for a release (ebook, print, and audio).

In the meantime, I’ve started putting up some early chapters on my Patreon — for those of you who hate waiting.

AO: Evolution Draft Complete!

So it has been a while since I last updated this blog.  But at least I have some good news!  The first draft of AO3 is complete and I’ve begun the editing process. Believe it or not, the first draft clocked in at 193K words and I expect that this will increase further as I edit.  As a result, AO3 will be quite a bit longer than the previous two books.

In terms of a timeline, editing will probably take a couple months (for my second developmental pass, an editor pass, and then proofing), and then we will need about two weeks to prepare the audio.  However, the manuscript looks pretty clean so far, so hopefully I’ll be able to move quickly.  The bottom line is that May or June is looking like a possibility for a release!

I’ll make a separate post once I’m ready to start putting up some early chapters on my Patreon.

Update on AO: Evolution

I hope you all are doing well – and looking forward to some time off for the holidays! I just wanted to provide an update since it has been a little while.

I’m over halfway through the first draft of AO3 (~90K words) and I’m still making progress – albeit slower than I would like. Between the recent U.S. tax reform (which has clients beating down my door) and some personal health troubles, I haven’t been able to find as much time to write lately as I would like.

Hopefully, things will clear up a bit over the Christmas holiday and I’ll find some time to get some serious writing done. When I actually have time to focus, it usually moves pretty quickly (5K+ per day). I also have all of AO3 outlined already, it’s just a matter of sitting down and hammering out the words.
