5 star review for University of Berkshire Hathaway: 30 Years of Lessons Learned from Warren Buffett & Charlie Munger at the Annual Shareholders Meeting via Amazon.com: Fun, educational and revealing book about Berkshire Hathaway

Would you be willing to copy and paste your review to Amazon? It would mean a lot to me.
A great summation of how Berkshire Hathaway started out and how each decision from Buffett and Munger made it an amazing corporation that keeps on giving.

5 star review for University of Berkshire Hathaway: 30 Years of Lessons Learned from Warren Buffett & Charlie Munger at the Annual Shareholders Meeting via Amazon.com: Must read for Berkshire nuts!

Loved the book. Have come across many books on Berkshire letters, but none on the shareholder meetings. This book does an excellent job of crystallizing 5-6 hour long annual meetings into a few pages packed with insight and Warren & Charlie's inimitable humor.

5 star review for University of Berkshire Hathaway: 30 Years of Lessons Learned from Warren Buffett & Charlie Munger at the Annual Shareholders Meeting via Amazon.com: Great concise summary of annual meetings

Ive read most of BRK annual reports in their entirety but I very much enjoyed Daniel and Coreys unique perspective and interpretation. For over 30 years they have attended the annual event and meticulously kept notes on the most important developments. They did a wonderful job editing and presenting their years of dedicated work.

5 star review for University of Berkshire Hathaway: 30 Years of Lessons Learned from Warren Buffett & Charlie Munger at the Annual Shareholders Meeting via Amazon.com: among descriptions of the business evolution which will not be interesting unless you ha

Their insights, clarity, ability to dissect a problem or business and defining it in a phrase are incredible.

Their intellectual honesty and sense of humor also.

All these is found in the book, among descriptions of the business evolution which will not be interesting unless you have had BK stock during those years like me. Anyway, those pages illustrates their approach to businesses and strategy.

The latter, as far as I understanding it, is to buy a good well managed business at a very good price, retain of a capable managers, add resources if needed, and let them work.

More or less the opposite of what many companies do with acquisitions.

As a former Gillette employee can see also the company role in its model.

Gillette was a business that can be run by mediocres. (It was not the case, but had its moments of mediocre decisions)

Of course reading every page is tiring because they are inevitably repeated but is easy to find the "pearls

5 star review for University of Berkshire Hathaway: 30 Years of Lessons Learned from Warren Buffett & Charlie Munger at the Annual Shareholders Meeting via Amazon.com: This book is a great compilation of notes from annual meetings of Berkshire Hathaway

This book is a great compilation of notes from annual meetings of Berkshire Hathaway, compiling quotes and views of Buffet and Munger while giving context about the market as well as about the company's growth. After reading the annual letters, this was a good way to get additional insights as well as vicariously experience the wit and humor delivered by the sage of Omaha and his partner. Also, now that we know how history unfolded, it was great to see how calm they were on letting go of the opportunities during internet boom as well as during the financial crisis of 2008-09. Recommended read to anyone who practices equity/value investing.

5 star review for University of Berkshire Hathaway: 30 Years of Lessons Learned from Warren Buffett & Charlie Munger at the Annual Shareholders Meeting via Amazon.com: Brilliant

An outstanding compilation of 30 years worth of wisdom imparted by perhaps the greatest business and investment duo of all time captured by Messrs. Pecaut and Wrenn. As someone who was born in the early 90s, it was fascinating for me to hear about was going on in the markets, the economy, and Berkshire Hathaway from Buffet and Mungers perspective during that time. And given that Ive been to a few BH shareholder meeeings, I can attest to the authors abilities to not only restate the important lessons on investing, corporate responsibility, and life, but also to the two mens sense of humor and wit. Highly recommend!

5 star review for University of Berkshire Hathaway: 30 Years of Lessons Learned from Warren Buffett & Charlie Munger at the Annual Shareholders Meeting via Goodreads:

Well worth it! Here you can read nuggets and exchanges from past annual meetings like this one from 2007, before the financial crisis: '"Don't you want real-time information?" Munger replied that if you can mark to market to report any level of profits you want, you'll get terrible human behavior. The person replied, "You just don't understand accounting."'
