Go to bed at 10 every evening
Have a solid 7 to 8 hours of sleep daily

Is it better to graduate or start a business?

Some time back when I was asked this question, I thought about it for a while, did a little research, and here is what I came up with.

History has shown the most brilliant businessmen never needed a higher education to pursue their dreams.

I could point out the obvious well known cases such as Bill Gates, Steve Jobs and so on.

My advice is, if you have a brilliant idea or product you are sure is a game changer, find out if the market is ready for it, then do your best to realize it.

On another note, starting a regular business that’s just the same as many of the others currently in existence is not a bad idea, given the uncertain job market in today’s world.

 

For this however, there are certain measures to take, such as:

– Make sure there is a market for your chosen business

-do your best to differentiate your business from the rest (i.e. Business Branding)

-don’t put all your eggs into one basket

-since 85% of all startups fail, try not to borrow money for your new business, and make sure you have a back up plan.

Spring, Summer, Joy and Happiness

The thing I’ve always liked most about vacations is the time it gives me to do the things I love most.

From sleeping in, to chilling before the TV, or simply meeting up with friends and having a fun filled day…

nothing east or west beats the vacation feeling.

 

What I recall loving most of all, was taking walks in nature with my best buddies,

fooling around telling jokes or playing at spotting the wild bear, even when we knew there were none far and wide.

It’s a time to dream and fantasize, look forward into the future with unfailing hope and boundless courage,

and swear we will be better in all we do and strive for.

 

I love such days dearly, and when they were done, coming home to a movie or music was simply the crowing highlight of perfect idyll.

I always ended up before the couch, taking in the marvelous special effects of a box office science fiction, or the palpitating adrenaline rush of a mind-boggling thriller.

And afterward, singing in tune to the perfect harmony of a cherished pop idol would set the perfect clang on a most beautiful day well spent.

 

Make the most of these wonderful vacation days. Tank up on goodwill and courage. Only so can we go out refreshed and ready to excel in the next leg of our journey.

BGS: Today we are chatting with K. M. Oddeck  the author of Intrinsic Encounters. K.M, Tell us something unexpected about yourself!

K.M: I speak and write fantastic German. Nevertheless, I would never dream of writing a novel in this, as it is a most recently acquired second language. The finer nuances would take quite some doing to nail down.

BGS: What novels affected you the most growing up?

K. M: A good number of very fine novels shaped me, including some I happened upon by chance. Primarily though, John Grisham and Robert Ludlum lead the pack.

BGS: Where did the idea for your current book come from?

K. M: The idea came to me while I was warming myself out in the garden on a particularly rosy sunday morning. I remember thinking how lovely it would be, to weave a story out the many funny moments and bizarre incidents I have witnessed over the years. This is how Intrinsic Encounters came into being. Of course, an over-abundance of imagination played a big role in the finer details of the story.

BGS: Do you think there’s any way you could ever run out of ideas for books?

K. M: Absolutely no way. Not as long as I have time to think and muse over the world. There are millions of untold stories just waiting to bubble out into the open.

BGS: What is your routine for writing and has this method changed over the span of your career?

K. M: My writing career is still relatively young. Nevertheless, I have established a modus operandi. This entails creating a detailed plot plan before I commence with the actual writing. Of course, spontaneous bursts of inspiration during the actual writing phase help to nicely fill out the story.

BGS: How important is marketing and social media for you?

K. M: Without marketing, a book probably won’t sell much, regardless of how good it may be. So marketing is very important to me. Social media helps in keeping one’s fan-base engaged. As such, it plays a fundamental part in the continued success of an author. Bottom line, the two are my very lifeline. I wouldn’t care to guess what would happen to my book without them.

BGS: What advice would you have for other writers?

K. M: A good plot is 10 percent inspiration and 90 percent hard work. One simply just cannot get around the hard work.

BGS: What are you reading now?

K. M: Dark matter.

BGS: What’s your next step?

K. M: Marketing Intrinsic Encounters. I believe everyone who comes across it will love it. It’s that kind of book. At some point, I will sit down to write my second novel.
