Halloween…
Have you seen 'em yet? The pumpkins. The flying witches. The vampire bats. Every store I enter seems to have the Halloween decorations up already. I know–some folks think it's too early for that. But, hey, I'm a paranormal writer. For me, it's NEVER too early for that. I've had my "Here lives the wicked witch and all her little monsters" sign up for weeks now. I can't help it, the Halloween decorations make me feel good.
And speaking of Halloween…here's a friendly reminder that my Month...

Chugging along on a Thursday…
Just wanted to pop in with an update because I know I've been quiet this week. :-( Sorry! I finish up my page proofs today (for Eternal Hunter) and I'm in the middle of a PR mailing for the mass market re-release of Hotter After Midnight. I'm also working on my still untitled paranormal romance–hopefully, the rough draft will be done in the next two weeks. I'm enjoying this story. It just took one of those turns that I totally didn't plan when I began the story. Those turns are always f...

Links on a Friday…
My page proofs arrived for ETERNAL HUNTER, so I'm going to be a working girl this weekend. (But, on a brighter note, whenever page proofs arrive, that means ARCs aren't far behind! So stay tuned for an ARC contest soon! Probably in another week or two…)
I thought I'd post some links today, for your viewing pleasure.
First up, a site I always head to for inspiration and positive posts: Magical Musings. Today, LaDonna has a great post up on what she calls "open window moments."

Why do you read romance novels?
I know why I read them–I love the story-telling, the characters, and, in general, I'm addicted to happy endings. I love picking up a book and knowing that when I get to the end of the story, the heroine won't be killed off. Instead, she'd get everything she wants out of life. I love being able to read about vampires, demons, medieval knights, and futuristic super-soldiers. Hey–they're fun! I love reading romantic comedies and dark suspenses. Yes, I love 'em all.
I've been addicted to romanc

Call for Submissions!!!
Do you want to write a romance? Then Samhain has a call for submissions that you should check out!!
Wanted: Fairy Tales
And I took this fun blurb from the submission site: "I'm looking for your super-hot take on the fairy tales we grew up with and… there must be a Happily Ever After."
Personally, I loved Sleeping Beauty and I'd sure like to see a new take on that story. Hmmm…wait, I think I'm feeling inspired! Better go write down some notes in my idea file!

A little bit of holiday news…
I'm starting to sing Christmas songs at my house. I know, I KNOW–way too early, right? (Even if the local hobby store does already have aisles and aisles of holiday decorations up. Christmas Creep dead ahead!) But, see, I've got a reason for my holiday cheer. I've recently been asked to write a holiday novella for an upcoming Kensington Brava Christmas anthology. Fun!
This is my first Christmas story. I did a New Year's story for A RED HOT NEW YEAR, and a I had a blast with that holiday. An

Movie Moment
Just wanted to share this movie preview with everyone–it's for the new Gerard Butler flick, LAW ABIDING CITIZEN. I think the film looks great (yeah, Gerard helps), even though it features one of my least favorite plot motivations for heroes. The motivation technique I don't like? Killing the hero's wife and child to make him "tortured"–for a while there, it seemed like every action movie featured this particular motivation method. Just not one I like.
Are there any particular plot types that
