‘Archetypal’ Erotica

Terrance Aldon Shaw at Erotica for the Big Brain just described Death and Beauty as “archetypal erotica” alongside two of my ultimate writing heroes, Janine Ashbless and Emmanuelle de Maupassant!

The myth of Baldr’s death, Shaw writes, is an “unlikely scenario for a sweet erotic romance, but MacLeod makes it work with surprising skill.”

“There’s plenty of humor to go with the sex, and a great deal of humanity to set this apart from the average mindless romp. This is a fun, fast read, and thoroughly enjoyable.”

Why, thank you!

You can read the entire review here, as well as glowing reviews of two other “archetypical” erotica stories, Viking Thunder by Emmanuelle de Maupassant and

 by Janine Ashbless.

Free Story: Tam Lin

Remember those plans I so cryptically mentioned earlier..?

Well, the amazing Teresa Conner put them all together and came up with my new favorite cover.

Yup. That’s everything I like, in one mouth-watering kilt…I mean, cover.

My erotic re-telling of the Scottish folktale Tam Lin originally appeared in A Two Dame Productions’ sexy anthology Lustily Ever After (which I highly recommend).

Now I’m offering my sexy fairy tale as a stand-alone short story. What’s more, I’m offering it for FREE!

So where can you get your hands on Tam Lin?

Yes, all you have to do is join my newsletter and I’ll send you a sexy Scotsman (story)…FREE!

And let’s be honest here – we could all use a bit more sexy Scotsman in our lives.

As Promised…

I’m back from my 4th of July “vacation” on the Colorado-Wyoming border. (I say “vacation” with quotes because it involved sleeping in a tent with small children for multiple nights…)

And yes, I did even wear a cowboy hat.

[image error]FYI, that’s a mosquito bite, not a hickey

Now I’m back and I’m perusing my Amazon page.

Guys, the reviews of Death and Beauty are totally making me cry. In a good way.

Here’s what some lovely, lovely readers are saying about my Baldr/Hel romance:

“Be warned you will be sucked into this world!”

“This is my first story by Samantha MacLeod and I know it won’t be the last. I can’t wait to see what she has for us next.”

“The details, the writing and the scenes! I felt like I was transported back to the time of magical, all powerful beings and I am actually sad to find myself back in my living room!”

“This book was sexy, suspenseful, gripping, spellbind and seductive while it was a quick read, it turned out to be the best mythology book I have read in a very long while.”

“A brilliant read. Captivating and perfectly written. Beautiful dialogue and settings.”

Awwwww, friends, you’re making me blush!

You can check out all these lovely reviews on Amazon (and, you know, pick up your own copy of Death and Beauty).

AFK

Wow, it’s been a crazy two weeks.

Death and Beauty, my erotic fantasy romance inspired by Norse mythology, came out on June 20th.

Since then I’ve been scrambling all over the internet, getting reviews, doing interviews, and generally promoting the Hel out of myself!

And now I’m taking a break, yo.

The kids and I are headed to a family reunion on the Colorado-Wyoming border. If anyone needs me, I’ll be knee-deep in sagebrush, about an hour’s drive past the point where you lose cell phone reception.

I might even be wearing a cowboy hat.

Sinful Pleasures in August

Way back when I was in high school, I got invited to a party with the cool kids.

You know, the cool kids.

I spent the entire party standing in a corner with a strawberry daiquiri in my hand thinking, “Holy shit. I’m hanging with the cool kids. How the hell did that happen?”

When I saw the lineup for the forthcoming Sinful Pleasures anthology, which promises to “weave our way from mainstream erotic romance to surreal sex-filled dreamscapes and everything in between,” I had the exact same reaction.

List of authors:

Janine Ashbless

Ella Scandal

Sonni de Soto

Jo Henny Wolf

Lily Harlem

Lady Divine

Gail Williams

Samantha MacLeod

Two Interviews!

I’m delighted to be part of two fabulous blogs this week!

The amazing Bronwyn Green, author of many sexy books (including In Bounds, which I really enjoyed), sits me down in her virtual living room and asks me about book hoarding, writing, and what the heck is up with all this Norse mythology stuff…

Check out the full interview here (and get a peek at my favorite cookbook).

AND author AJ Adams hosted me on her blog to chat about writing, marketing, and connecting with my very favorite people – readers!
