It’s nearly NaNoWriMo!

NaNoWriMo is nearly here! For those of you who don’t know, NaNoWriMo (or National Novel Writing Month) takes place every November, while novelists around the world cheer each other one to write a 50,000 word novel in the month of November. The Story of Lizzy and Darcy was a NaNo winner in 2015, and The Adventures of William Fitts started life as a NaNo in 2016. It’s great fun and a great way to get that book written!

I am so excited to participate in NaNoWriMo this year. I’m really pumped for this year’s story, so without further ado…

(You can add me on NaNoWriMo here and we can be writing buddies!)

For NaNoWriMo this year I’m writing The Fight for Oz (title still up for change!), a steampunk-esque fantasy adventure inspired by The Wonderful Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum. And, of course, it’s a bit more queer than the original.

Leonie is escaping from life as a servant in the Emerald City when she is taken in by legendary freedom fighter Dorothy, who is fighting to retrieve the heart of the Tin Man, currently being kept under lock and key by the Wizard. Along the way they meet the disgraced Professor Crow and come face-to-face with the Wicked Witch of the West.

There’ll be action, adventure, friendship, romance, and above all, a quest to find wisdom, love, courage, and a home.

I can’t wait to see some of you at the starting line on 1st November, so add me on NaNoWriMo, say hi on Twitter, and let’s get writing!

(Also don’t forget to pre-order The Adventures of William Fitts and add it on Goodreads!)

Happy reading (and writing!)

Grace

‘The Adventures of William Fitts’: Pre-order now!

When Will Fitts was fifteen, he made a list of everything he wanted to do before he was twenty-five. Now, with less than six months to go, he and his friends Darcy, Lizzy, and Jordan, are on a mission to make sure he can accomplish the dreams of his younger self.

But crossing off everything on the list means revisiting Will’s past, including some demons that he’d rather forget.

The Adventures of William Fitts is a companion to The Story of Lizzy and Darcy.
