Why Celebrate “Daughter Of Blood”?
Right now, Daughter of Blood (The Wall Of Night Book Three) is a Kindle Monthly Deal from 1-11-2019 until 2-12-2019 in the US and Canada — all courtesy of my US publisher, Harper Voyager.

USA
To support the whole monthly deal process, I decided to make November the Month of Daughter of Blood here on the blog, all of which I explained here: http://helenlowe.info/blog/2019/10/31/a-kindle-monthly-deal-for-daughter-of-blood-a-month-of-qa-thursdays/
Most particularly, I heralded the Month of Q&A Thursdays for Daughter — which kicked off last week with four, fabulous questions from Phoebe, Sandy, Lindsay, and Chris. High fives to you all, not only...

And here it is, the very first Daughter of Blood Q&A Thursday that I’ll be running all this month, as part of celebrating the book while it’s a Kindle Monthly Deal.
So don’t let me run out of questions, OK?!

It’s Not “The End” Yet – But I Can See It From Here: A WALL #4 Update

Keeping the WALL vigil…
credit: PJ Fitzpatrick
The essence of this WALL #4 update is pretty much encapsulated in the title.
A year ago, I told you that I was working to a deadline of 1 July this year for completing the WALL #4 manuscript. Unfortunately, life and the muses did not cooperate with that date, so I’m still writing, writing. However, although there is some way still to go, I can actually now see the end up ahead—which feels very positive to me as author, and I *hope* will prove encouraging for readers as well.

Something Worth Saying… And Trying.
But we can do small things with great love.” — Mother Teresa
Recently, this quote from Mother Teresa crossed my path and I do think it’s worth sharing—especially as quite often the challenge of writing a blog post can be coming up with something to say that is actually worth saying, rather than simply adding to the “babel”, or “babble” amid the “noise and haste.”
A good reminder for the start of the week, if not for every day…

About The Characters: Meet The Minor Players in “The Wall Of Night” Series — Meet Ilai

USA
The About The Characters post series focuses on the minor characters in The Wall Of Night series, in large part because:
“I think it’s the presence of the smaller characters that “makes” a story, creating texture around the main points of view.”
Initially, the series focused exclusively...

“Watchtower” by Elizabeth A Lynn — aka The Unreliability of Book Lists

Cover of the version I first read.
Last week I posted an “off-the-top-of-my head” list of favourite reads.
As with everything, there can be positives and negatives to impromptu lists. On the one hand, one tends to reach for the tried and true, so the chances are these are books one has really liked, without too much internal editing before jotting down the titles.
On the other, there may also be a tendency to tread well-worn paths, with a bias toward older titles. And sometimes you just forget really great rea...

A Book List — Off the Top Of My Head!
On Saturday evening, exactly like a large proportion of the world, no doubt, I went to a party.
At this party, I caught up with an old friend who asked me what some of my favourite Fantasy novels and series are. I did say that the answer to the question was buried in the deeps of my blog, under Recommended Reading and What I’m Reading and Epic Fantasy…
…But then I thought, how cruel, to make a friend trawl through what is now a very long list of posts, given I started blogging awa’ back in 2...
