I might say, have said,
it depends, how you understand
the roots, you were coming, from
or leaving, before you have, left them.
I see, one road to go and where there are
lines crossed, you’ve passed the whole attitude
worldwide. A matter of days, not seconds.
I look to my world, for a long long time
and I had one goal, a purpose and rhyme.

Namens, VVD, Dennis Wiersma die zo zijn
behoefte heeft, richting de magere Hein van Defensie.
Ik wacht de meldingen, over een half jaar, wel af, jongen!
U mag, wat mij betreft, per direct, afnokken.
Ik vind het niet bewonderenswaardig om via deze wijze
mensen aan de galg te hangen, om welke redenen, dan ook.
Het snollenvolk weet zich hier, althans ruimer te vertegenwoordigen
en vanuit de Randstad lach ik u van harte toe, met problemen
die ik voorzie vanuit een wanstaltige houding, de hersenen
doordrongen van de Vetsmelterij te Tilburg.
Het is aan een gastarbeider, om alle eer
te mogen doordragen!

Time changes
I slept for an hour and a half, but I
thought I had been taken, away
for 48 Hours.
Sometimes, I have this moment
when I apparently wake up,
again, here.
I do not know,
where I’ve been
but it must be very far,
far away.
As long as I have
some moments of rest, now.
It is strange
when the strangest experience
is the richest gift to my child.

I knew, he watched
me during his lesson.
An hour, he stood
there, in his white clothes.
I loved him.
He taught me,
more than a teacher,
even more than a student
could learn, me.
I was following him,
his way of moving
through his oldest job.
And then, he came close.
Not closer.
It made me sad.
And so it often,
goes during the life
of a writer without one job.

A narrow choice
Dark Moon and Sun
were going down, in the very same night.
I watched the stars at night
on my bicycle, but in fact, it was a horse
or the fastest spaceship around the world!
I used to visit a lot of villages nearby,
at that time.
All my bicycles took me half way,
out of reality in more
than poetry, could be.
A village, Oisterwijk, had a lot
of shops, an old classic Mill
and wide spaces of open skies.
I know, I travelled in a Morning Sound,
but I made a choice not to buy
that older painting in an old store,
close to the streets.
Someone was watching, there,
was he.
I moved forward
closer to the waters
where sun and birds
shivered in the first light.
It was not very happy, I remember,
I thought it was sad,
it could have been some sadness.

I saw it and could not, stop it,
then, because I was not strong enough.
After school, I played
with all of my friends,
on the streets
till the Sun would,
go down.
You had that strange smell,
in my playfield, when all children
were, safe, at home.
That’s what they thought,
that they would all be safe
by their way of living… .
I knew then, spiders come easily
in autumn before my hand strikes,
twice .. you had those 2 boys
losing all their eyeballs!
It is so funny,
when I do not care
about scary disasters.
In the morning,
the fever was gone.

A living legend

A living legend
He wrote a story for children,
especially one child.
No one knows, actually,
from the beginning
what it was all about.
In silence, he doubted
if he would be writing, forever.
But that would, be the end!
He has something in his mind
I can’t describe.
It is the twinkling
in his eyes
by an eye that does not feel.
It is a connection
between 2 writers
and it will never end.

The Pen Shop, Ulpia Noviomagus Batavorum
I walked in a shop,
more than one penshop.
It was not, actually, a store.
I have been looking
for a special pen, the year of 1933.
Immediately, I saw the name
of the darkened red pen.
It is signed, “Merlin”.
I keep it in a golden pencil case, nowadays.
It is a fountain pen, with a golden point
and the ink has been refilled by my 2 hands.
The man behind the counter
did not look at my words.
He saw, someone else
enter his shop, while I talked to him.
Twice, he looked at that spirit
before I gave him one particular glance.
I decided to buy his pen,
because polished shoes
last longer, even longer
than a mind might remember.

In a hurry
He seems to be in a hurry.
His long legs carry him around
the globe.
He has no time to watch
his watch.
Apparently, he looks
in a far away sky,
as if, if, he wants to see,
something.
In the silence of his eyes
water is peaceful, quiet
and extreme extraordinary
harmonious.
No one says a word, but the sky
openend, opens and light never
shined brighter in his lost, lost heart.
