Are you an intercessor?

“So he declared he would destroy them. But Moses, his chosen one, stepped between the LORD and the people. He begged him to turn from his anger and not destroy them” (Psalm 106:23).

Have you ever felt the burden to pray for someone that was in dire need of a miracle or for God to intervene in their life?

Have you ever had someone on your mind so heavy that it begins to affect you emotionally?

These are a few questions that many people ask when it comes to intercession. They begin to sense someth...

4 Reasons You Shouldn’t Be Worried

Worry is primarily a matter of control. It’s an attempt to manage the uncontrollable. We can’t control the economy; therefore, we worry about it. We can’t control our children; consequently, we worry about them. We have no control over the future, so we worry about it. Worry never solves a problem! It’s like simmering without doing anything.

In his Sermon on the Mount, Jesus presents four reasons why you shouldn’t be worried.

Worry is unreasonable. Matthew 6:25 says, “Therefore I tell you,...

God’s grace through Jesus Christ

The Bible says in Acts 20:24, “But I do not account my life of any value nor as precious to myself, if only I may finish my course and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.”

Did you notice it does not say the most essential thing inlife is to get married, get a job, travel the world, or become famous? It saysthe most important thing in life is to fulfill your mission. And one of yourmissions is to go into the world and proclaim the ...

What Is the Meaning of Zion in the Bible?

Question: I keep encountering quotes from the Bible about Zion, “What is Zion? What is Mount Zion? What is the biblical meaning of Zion?”

Answer:
Zion appears at least 165 times in the Bible. These verses refer alternately to a Mount Zion, the daughter of Zion, virgin daughter of Zion, and many of them are just plain Zion. Besides being popular in scriptural reference, Zion is described as being quite loved by the Almighty.

The first few times that Zion is mentioned, the verse gives another...

5 Steps to God’s Forgiveness

As Christians, it’s safe to say that God plays a significant role in our lives. We worship God with our praise, we worship God with our prayers, we worship God by studying His words, and we even worship God with our money. There is no doubt we do our very best to live productive and godly lives as devoted followers of Jesus Christ. Still, we will never be perfect.

No matter how much we worship God, perfection will always escape us. In fact, as long as we are on this earth, we are going to make m...

Put On The New Self

In this new year, what old things do you need to take out of your life? What new things do you need to fill your mind? Are there new habits you need to develop in order to become who God created you to be?

“They have become callous and have given themselves up to sensuality, greedy to practice every kind of impurity. But that is not the way you learned Christ!— assuming that you have heard about him and were taught in him, as the truth is in Jesus, to put off your old self, which belongs...

Is It A Sin To Drink Alcohol?

Question: Dr. Warrick, what is your take on alcohol consumption?

Answer:

Wine and intoxicating beverages are fascinating subjects when viewed from a biblical perspective.

In the Bible, wine was used for the sanctification and conclusion of Shabbat and many festivals. Many of the commandments are accompanied by a cup of wine. Blessings were recited with a cup of wine beneath the wedding canopy, at a circumcision, at a “Pidyon Haben” (the Redemption of a Firstborn Son), and let’s not ...

The Greatest Gift You Can Receive

There is nothing like the joyful chaos of Christmas morning. Little boys and girls quickly rip the wrapping paper off the boxes to discover they got precisely what they craved. However, the authentic enjoyment comes from examining and using the things they have been given. Think about it, how strange it would be if a child chose to keep a gift without unwrapping it. If we are honest, that is how many Christians treat the priceless gift of salvation. Some know about it, and others have received i...

Help, My Husband Watches Too Much Football

Question: Dr. Tony, I need your help. My husband is swiftly losing his faith in God because his favorite football team is constantly losing. Every time his team loses, he loses more of his faith. How can I help him look at it differently, and how can I get him not to watch so much football?

Answer:

I truly hope your husband is not losing his faith because his favorite team is not winning. If he is genuinely losing faith in the Lord, how about telling him this:

It is not a rational react...
