Murmuration
Murmuration.
Original poem hand stitched on linen blend measuring approximately 23"x15.75". Initialed on the front.
The scientists and mathematicians have worked out the mystery of how murmurations are formed, it turns out that magic is divisible by seven. Starlings operate on the principles of the management of uncertainty while maintaining consensus.
Murmuration is the perfect word for this phenomenon - for how can one witness such a dipping, diving, gliding, swirling, curling wave of beating wings and not have their heart open up so wide that it nearly breaks?
As Ms. Dickinson so eloquently wrote more than one hundred fifty years ago, hope is the thing with feathers.
