Nazism & Dehumanizing the Other

A few months after his liberation and long walk home from Poland to Turin, Italy, twenty-six-year-old Primo Levi wrote a poem titled…

You can be assured of it.

You can be assured of it. We are entering post-absurdity when a moronic blogger has the sand to call the first gay candidate for the Presidency — a veteran, who has a legitimate shot — a sociopath. Politicians and money are synonymous. I love to remind santimonious leftists that Obama was at least partially installed by Goldman Sachs. I love to remind santimonious leftists that Hillary was a straight-up criminal and that Bernie has done his own share of shady shit. This is American politics. If you and people like you kill the candidacy of Pete, or anyone else who can beat the Orange Buffoon — you are only hurting yourselves.

As a writer and a person who has survived trauma — I admire your honesty in what Paul Rep’s calls “writing down the bones”. I get it. And yet, as I read the story and the comments — I could not help but feel that we, as a society are becoming more and more comfortable with lying and justifying it to ourselves. I was with a partner who lied about me — it landed me in the hospital. I understand making mistakes, I’m impressed you used the word regret — but for the record, lying is never a good idea. I don’t care how feminists want to lay it off on the man either. You lied. You didn’t have to.

As someone with a theological background in Buddhist philosophical anthropology and thirty + years of practice, I find articles like this disheartening and disengenous. None of these quotes, as in ZERO — are attributable to the Pali canon from which Buddhist antiquity can be studied. Stop posting things like this. You just misled 10.8k people into thinking you know something about Buddhism. This is the problem with coaches — right. here.
