Reviews for CLOSE PURSUIT are in!
“Dees blends action and intrigue in this character-driven romance with deft skill, keeping readers enthralled until the final secret is unveiled and the last chase winds down. Her fictional war zone is minutely detailed, and the dangers surrounding her characters feel dangerously real. Most impressive of all is in her deeply conflicted and enigmatic hero, whose background and personal scars combine to make him a mystery, even to himself. His development, and growing desire for the plucky heroine, keeps the heart of the story strong through every pulse-pounding plot twist.” RT BOOK REVIEWS 4 1/2 stars
Whew. Now there’s a great review. Makes me blush a little.

Operation Yellow Bird
For the first time ever, the Chinese government has acknowledged and even embraced Operation Yellow Bird as bloggers compare Edward Snowden’s escape from Hong Kong this weekend to the Yellow Bird escape of some 400 Tiananmen Square dissidents from China. Even a cursory read about Operation Yellow Bird begs for a novel to be written about it or based on it. Just sayin’. And people wonder where I get my ideas for books. I merely watch the news!

Dragon Crest Edits in progress
THE SLEEPING KING has crossed its next hurdle to publication. The revisions have come back from its editor, Claire Eddy–one of the grand dames of fantasy editing in New York for over 30 years–and they’re not bad! We’re hoping to complete edits for her within the next couple of weeks, and then we’ll be close to the final manuscript and full-blown production, packaging, and marketing. Woot!

Women Allowed in SEALs!
FINALLY. Here’s a link to an article from San Diego reporting that gender neutral standards will be applied to the SEALs by 2016. It’s being reported that the standards won’t be lowered, merely any person of any gender can join the SEALs if they meet the standards. Interestingly enough, buried in this article is a mention from a SEAL commander that they expect sexual relationships in the field to disrupt operations and are considering forming all-female units to combat the problem.
Huh. Now there’s an idea…
My first Medusa book was published in October 2005, by the way.
