Welcome First Kiss Hoppers!

Greetings First Kiss hoppers!
I am Jaxx Steele, author of gay romance. During this hop you will read many ‘first kisses’ from a lot of people. Some are planned to the smallest detail for perfection sake, others are romantically spontaneous, mine, however, was totally out of my control.
I had my first kiss at 12. There I was walking down the street, minding my own business when Charlene screamed my name to get my attention. I turned to see her and another boy running toward me. She was my sister’s best friend so I waited in case she had a message for me from her. To my surprise she grabbed my arm, turned my face toward her and kissed me in the mouth. With wildly blinking eyes I stared between her and the other guy wondering what had just happened.
With a big grin she said, “See, I told you I had a boyfriend. So I can’t be your girl and his.”
Convinced by her logic the boy shrugged and walked away. When he was safely out of hearing range, Charlene turned to me and said, “Now you know dag-gone-well I was making that up, right? For the record, you are Jackie’s nasty, stinking brother and there is no way we would ever be boyfriend and girlfriend.” Then she wiped my mouth off, presumably to wipe away the kiss, and left me standing there dazed and confused.
Today my sister is still friends with Charlene. We laugh every time we see each other and that day comes up. Now, that you’ve seen what my first kiss was like, I would like to show you what Luke’s first kiss with Anthony was like. He too was left dazed when it was all said and done.

After the death of his lover, Luke Finley took dating off his list of things to do. When he met Anthony Dixon, Luke found it difficult to keep the handsome man safely on the friend list. Will Luke to let the ghosts from his past prevent him from having love in his future?

EXCERPT: “Luke, I’d like us to be more than friends,” Anthony blurted out.
Luke stiffened. He turned wide eyes to Anthony. Since the night they went out to dinner after their first bowling match they had been almost inseparable.
“I thought we were more than just friends, Anthony. We’re together all the time. You’re my closest friend beside Nick.”
“That means a lot to me. I know how close you and Nick are. I’d like to be more than that to you.”
“How much closer can we be? I mean, we do everything together.”
Anthony smiled and cupped his face. “Not everything.”
Luke felt heat fill his cheek as he comprehended his statement.
“Oh, well—”
“Luke, I want us to be exclusive. Friends don’t have sex, boyfriends do.”
“Is that the only reason you want to be more? So we can have sex?”
His voice was sharper than he wanted. Luke saw something change in Anthony’s eyes and immediately regretted his accusation. Anthony dropped his arm and sat back on the cushions.
“I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have said that. I didn’t mean it like that.”
“No, it’s all right, Luke. That’s a valid question. Do I want us to be more just so I can have sex with you? The answer, of course, is no. If all you can truly offer me is your friendship then I will gladly accept it, but I would like to be more."Anthony paused to shift position to face him.
"I want to be the one you turn to when you need a shoulder to cry on. When you’re so happy and feel like you’re about to bust if you don’t share your news with someone, I want that someone to be me. I want to hear about all the trivial details of your day that drive you crazy and the ones that remind you why you love what you do. I want to grow old with you, making memories that we can cherish as old men,” Anthony explained, taking his hands.
Luke was flabbergasted. He never considered anything more than friendship with Anthony. Luke had already had the love of his life. If you only get one powerful love like that, then Luke figured he and Anthony were best suited to be friends.
“I want to make love to you every day of my life, not have one-time sex,” Anthony continued. “I want to feel your feet resting on my shoulders while I drive my cock into you. I want to hear you say my name on a moan as you orgasm that would sear a place in my soul. I want to hear the sex sounds unique to you when you come from me sucking your dick. I want to lie on my stomach and enjoy you riding my ass on many nights. I want everything you’ve given me up until now, everything I have just said and so much more. What do you want, Luke?”
Luke gasped. The bold words poked at his excitement making his cock throb. His lip trembled beneath the thumb Anthony slid across it. He could tell from the beginning Anthony was an amazing man, someone he could see himself with in another life.
Could someone really have more than one great love in one lifetime?
Faced with Luke’s stunned silence, Anthony sighed and his fingers slipped away from Luke’s cheek. He turned away and leaned on his knees.
“I don’t get it, Luke. From what I hear, your Sean sounded like a great guy. You guys must have had something special.”
Luke nodded. “He was, and we did.”
“I can’t speak for the man, but I know that if it were me, I wouldn’t want the man I loved to be alone. I would want my lover to be happy again.”
Luke said nothing. He knew Sean would want him happy, but Sean wasn’t here to do that.
“You’re an incredible guy, Luke. I fell for you a long time ago. I’m not Sean, but I can make you happy if you let me. Moving on doesn’t mean you have to forget him. It’s not uncommon to have room in your heart to love more than one man, you know.”
They sat silently staring at one another. Anthony angled his head, gazing at him. Luke saw Anthony’s intent in his eyes and tilted his head the other way to accept the kiss. It was their first. Anthony’s lips were warm and supple. The kiss was soft and gentle sending shivers along his spine. Never before had such a simple peck left him wanting more.
Disappointment rose within him when Anthony pulled away. With a sad smile, Anthony stood and left him sitting on the sofa. Luke turned. The closer Anthony got to the door the more Luke’s pulse raced.
What just happened? Was that goodbye? We’re over before we even start? Is that what I want?
The questions bombarded his mind one after another. He couldn’t process them fast enough to ascertain how he really felt at Anthony’s apparent decision to leave him.
Upset? Relieved? Saddened? Regretful?
He rose with every intention of stopping him, but his feet wouldn’t move and his mouth wouldn’t work. When he reached the door, Anthony spun unexpectedly landing a burning gaze on him. Luke almost jumped back, startled by the look. With swift strides, Anthony retraced his steps. Before Luke could say a word, Anthony wrapped his arm around Luke’s waist and yanked him into his embrace.
Another kiss silenced Luke’s stunned intake of breath. The latter, however, was totally different from the one he had just experienced.  Only his toes touched the floor as the strength in Anthony’s arm held him aloft. Anthony’s tongue forced Luke’s lips apart. They battled briefly until Luke gave in to his lead. Anthony kissed Luke hungrily, rubbing his body against his blatant erection.
The savage possessiveness of the connection overwhelmed him. Dormant sexual urges within him came to life responding to Anthony’s wanton aggressiveness. A rush of heat infused Luke’s being leaving his skin electrified. His nipples pebbled, his sphincter clenched and his cock throbbed at the feel of Anthony’s hard-on pressing against his own. The sensations were thrilling, captivating and over far sooner than Luke wanted.   As if he had been running, Luke’s breathing was harsh and choppy when Anthony lowered him to his feet. His heart raced and his knees felt wobbly at the abrupt withdrawal. Anthony left the house without a backward glance. Luke held his head trying to gather his wits. His knees finally buckled and he fell heavily into the couch.
“Holy shit.

Welcome Backlist Hoppers!

Hello everyone! Welcome to the Backlist Blog Hop!
For those who have never been here before I am Jaxx Steele, author of erotic gay romance. I would like to share with you one of my earlier best sellers, Papa Knows Best. It is a story that is close to my heart. So much so that the main characters Dominick (Papa) and Brad have made cameo appearances in a few other May-December type books I have written.
I enjoyed doing this book and I think its success was due to the over all feel that age doesn't matter among consisting adults. Once you get to know a person you fall for the person not their age. In some cases the age of the person is a factor, but only f you make it so. As the author of many books, my personal opinion has slipped into a character from time to time, but that is not my usual policy. My characters have gone against me and have expressed opinions of their own that are very different from anything that I feel, but in Papa knows Best that is not the case.
Though there are situations where your age may matter in your relationship, I do not think it should make or break it. Common ground needs to be found on which you can build trust and then a relationship can grow from there. This is the very thought of the aggressor in this tale when he sets out to get his man. My hope is that new light is shed on Papa knows Best from this hop giving you another book to enjoy. It will always be a favorite of mine.

Dominick “Papa” Pappas was a handsome, young photography teacher at Indiana University given to impulsive behavior and an overwhelming passion for his craft.             Professor Bradley Louis taught philosophy at the college and had the reputation of being the sternest and most unsocial of all the teachers on campus.            When Papa first laid eyes on Professor Louis it was love at first sight. Professor Louis was handsome, intelligent and twenty years his senior. Papa approached him, but the professor turned away from his advances claiming they had nothing in common and belonged to two different generations. Because of that he didn’t think they had a chance to survive as a couple. Can Papa convince him of otherwise or will Professor Louis’ theory on May-December relationships prevail?
Here's a peek at Papa and Brad's first meeting.

EXCERPT:
"Just a few more seconds...almost in position...”
“Papa, what the hell are you doing? You can’t just take pictures of people without their consent,”came an urgent whisper out of nowhere.
Startled by the voice, Dominick jerked the camera to the side. “Damn it, Ben. You made me lose the shot.” He sat up and flipped through pictures on the camera.
“I told you before, man, you can’t do that. This isn’t that small college you used to work at. Everyone knew each other there and didn’t mind when you walked around snapping pictures. They knew eventually it would end up in the paper somewhere and they would have their fifteen minutes of fame.”
Pleased with the latest shot on his camera, he greeted his friend. “I’m having a great day, Ben. How are you today?”
“Papa, are you listening to me? Seriously, you have to stop snapping pictures of people you don’t know, especially that guy. You don’t want to be messing with him. Do you know who that is?”
Ben’s uneasiness brought Dominick away from his camera again. “No, do you?”

The waitress reappeared with her pad in her hand. “Hello, Ben, can I get you something?”
“Yeah, whatever the special is today will be fine with a large Dr. Pepper. Thanks, Deb.” When she was out of earshot, he answered his friend. “That’s Professor Louis, he teaches psychology. He’s been here forever.”
Papa put the camera on the table and sent a glance over to Professor Louis. He was still sipping his tea and reading the paper.
“Psychology, huh, what else do you know about him?” Papa asked as Ben reached over to take his Coke.
“Well, I hear he’s a very good teacher. He’s brilliant and he really knows his stuff, but he has the reputation of being the grumpiest professor on campus and he isn’t very social, either. He’s never been seen at any faculty functions, big or small,” he said with a chuckle, then took a gulp from the glass.
Papa chuckled, too. “Really? What else do you know?”
“What,” he said, putting the glass down. “Uh-uh, I know that tone.”
“What tone?”
“That ‘I want to get to know him, so tell me everything you know’ tone.”
“Come on, man, I’m not using a tone. I’m just asking a question.”
“Papa, that man is old enough to be your father, shit, your grandfather!” Ben said in an astonished whisper.
Papa sat back in his chair. “Geez, Ben, I just wondered what else you knew about the man. It’s not like I asked if you knew if he was gay or not, or if he had a lover or even where he lived.” Papa sent another quick look over to the professor and then leaned back on the table and added, “Unless you know any of that stuff and want to tell me.”
Stunned anew, Ben looked at him wide-eyed and then laughed. “Uh-uh, no way.”
“Come on, Ben, I just want to meet him.”
“No, I’m not getting into that. Do you know how much trouble you could get into? It’s not good practice for teachers to be fooling around with one another. Well, unless you were married or already fooling around before you got here. This school is bigger than the last one you taught at, but it’s not big enough to hide a scandal of two male teachers getting caught fooling around.”
“What the hell do you think we’re going to do? Sneak kisses in his office or walk around campus holding hands like two giddy school kids? Get real, Ben.”
Dominick glared at him. Ben held up his hands.

“Okay, okay, I’m sorry. I’m not trying to say you don’t know how to be professional. I’m just trying to look out for you. When you and Rick were first together it was kinda like that, all carefree and unconcerned about what anyone else thought.”
“That was a long time ago, and there is a time and a place for that. Rick was all about PDA and breaking rules. I wouldn’t put mine or Professor Louis’ career in jeopardy like that.”
“You’re right. I'm sorry. I know you better than that.”
“Look, think about it like this, you’ll just be introducing two fellow teachers. This is my first year here. He could show me around campus and tell me where the good eating spots are. Besides, he teaches psychology, maybe he could teach me something,” he added, giving him a laughing grin.
That familiar disbelieving look appeared on Ben’s face, telling Papa once more that he was full of shit. He had seen it many times over the years. He and Ben met in college when Papa was a freshman and he a sophomore. They were in the same photography club. Ben liked taking pictures, and Papa had a gift. Their teacher helped get him a job as a freelance photographer to help pay his way through school. With his friend being an education major, the teacher thought it was a good idea if Papa took his gift and shared it by teaching others, and thus he followed his friend into teaching.
With two other Dominicks in their group of friends, it was Ben who started calling him Papa as a play on his last name. It had been twelve years since he graduated from college to pursue his teaching career behind his friend. They were the only ones in their group who stayed in touch and became as close as brothers, leaving Ben the only one to still call him Papa.
“You don’t even know if he’s gay, Papa. You go over there and approach Professor Louis like that and he’s not gay, that’s going to freak him out.”
“Yes, yes, I know, but one knows his own, Ben. I got a good feeling about him.”
Ben glanced conspiratorially at the professor. “I don’t know, Papa. Even if he is gay, you know how those old schools are. They grew up in a different time. Most of their generation isn’t very tolerant of ours.”
Papa sighed. “I know, Ben, but there’s just something about him. Look, I’m not going to do anything crazy. I just want to meet him, that’s all. Can you introduce us?”
Ben sighed and picked up Papa’s Coke again. “All right, all right, I’ll see what I can do. My freshman English class is down the hall from his office.”
“Thanks, man.”
The waitress returned with Ben’s lunch and they ate quietly. Papa continued to look over at Professor Louis to keep up with his progress. When Papa finished the half burger and the few cold fries that were left on his plate, he wiped his mouth and stood up abruptly.
“Where are you going?” Ben asked with his mouth full.
He picked up his camera. “I’m going to ask permission to use the pictures I took of Professor Louis, like you said. He’s almost done and I have a class in half an hour. So it’s now or never, right?”
Papa walked away before Ben could swallow and talk him out of the move he now deemed stupid as he stood in front of the man trying to find his voice.
Professor Louis looked up at Papa over his glasses. Papa continued to stand there mute for several long seconds until Professor Louis leaned back in his chair, wiped his mouth, and held out his hands gesturing toward him.
“Well, are you just going to stand there watching me eat or did you actually have a reason for coming over here?”
Papa’s lips moved, but no words came out, then suddenly the audio connection to his brain returned. “My pictures!” he blurted out.
Professor Louis raised an eyebrow. “Eh? How’s that again?”
Papa cleared his throat and tried again. “Mind if I sit?” he asked as he pulled out the chair and sat down.
A smirk showed on Professor Louis’ lips and his eyes glistened with amusement. “Obviously not. What can I do for you? Are you a student?”
“What? No, no, I’m not a student. I’m a teacher.”
“Is that right?”
“Yes, my name is Dominick Pappas. I teach photography here,” he said and held out his hand. “I came from another school and…”
Professor Louis shook his hand and leaned on the table, cutting him off. “Yes, yes, that’s quite the tale. What does all that have to do with me?”
“Oh, yes, well, as a photographer I take lots of pictures, you know.”
“Really?” Professor Louis said with false astonishment, muffling a laugh. “One would never have guessed.”
Papa paused, staring at the professor for a moment, then sent a look to his friend, who was peeking at them from behind the menu Papa had earlier. He took a breath before addressing the professor again.
“Yes, well, I did have a reason for coming over here. I took a few pictures of you and I wanted--"
Professor Louis’ face no longer appeared amused. He straightened up in his chair. The stern look he landed on Papa held him in place and stopped his words.

“You did what? When?” he asked crisply.
“I, uh, well, while you were eating,” Papa answered in almost a whisper.
Professor Louis pressed his lips into a thin line and then pushed his chair back abruptly. “You did what?” His voice still held its crispness. “You had no permission to do so. I don’t know you and I don’t like my picture taken. That’s three reasons for not doing what you did. You will erase those pictures from your camera immediately, and I don’t want to see them anywhere. Is that understood?” He snatched his jacket off the chair and his ticket from the table. “Good day to you, photography teacher,” he said ending their conversation, and walked away.
Papa watched him as he paid for his meal at the register and left the restaurant without making even the smallest backward glance. He left the chair and returned to the table with Ben.
“Well, that went well.”

Hot Summer Nights Blog Hop s here!

Hot Summer Nights Blog Tour
Welcome Hoppers!I am Jaxx Steele, author of gay erotic romance. I will be sharing an except of  my cowboy story Part of the Posse. They have lots of Hot Summer Nights but here is the first they shared during a stormy summer night.
EXCERPT:Colt’s deft fingers gripped Les’s cock and stroked with knowledge and purpose. Colt alternated between stroking the full length and sucking on the head. Les moaned again, enjoying Colt’s bold touch. It felt good when he stroked his own rod, but having someone else handle his cock felt incredible. It had been a while since he had lain with another man. Colt continued kissing his body and sucking his dick until Les was breathless and in danger of spilling his seed prematurely. Les abruptly shoved Colt onto the hay. “Stop! Take them wet clothes off so I can fuck you.” If Colt took offense at the gruffness of his words or the manhandling, he showed no sign. Colt rose to his feet quickly to honor Les’s request, giving him a full view of his body. His light- bronzed complexion reminded Les of the expensive rum he had splurged on once in Galveston. Smooth and delicious, the best hooch he ever had. Les almost smiled wondering if Colt would be the best he ever had. Everywhere he looked, taut lean muscles. His body, hairless except for the patch of loose curls at the top of an erection lifting proudly toward the ceiling. Perfection. What’s a boy as young Colt doing with a big, thick cock like that? Les mused. His desire to know if Colt could wield such a tool made his dick jump with anticipation. When his gaze reached Colt’s face, he smiled eagerly. “Now you do the same. I want to see you.” Les hesitated, averting his eyes. He figured himself to be Colt’s senior by at least ten years, maybe more. Although he had no potbelly, his limbs and torso were not as tight as they once had been. When Les looked back, Colt’s gaze was impatient. Les stood and removed his shirt then pushed his pants and drawers off at the same time. Now Colt openly ogled him, and his cock throbbed under the intense scrutiny. “Nice,” Colt said finally. “Now let’s see what it can do.” Colt rushed at him again, plundering his mouth insistently. Les let the young man take the lead. Usually he took control with a lover, but he liked how this boy showed no restraint in wanting him. Colt’s hands gripped Les’s cock enthusiastically. His firm stroking made Les harder than he had ever been.Breathing hard, he pulled himself out of Colt’s arms and reached to the ground for his saddlebag. He withdrew a small bottle of oil. Colt laughed.“Are you always prepared?” “I’m a man that travels without companionship. This stuff makes it easier during my one on one time,” Les explained with a grin.“Smart. I like that quality in a man.” Les smacked Colt’s hip playfully. “Turn over. I want to see that tight ass in the air.”Colt lowered himself to the hay and rolled over, raising his bottom. Les glided his hand over the roundness of his firm butt cheeks before he poured a stream of oil down the crack between them. Watching the stream disappear made his cock pulse. After tossing the container toward his bag, Les slipped his finger between the brown muscles. He located the hole within and directed the slickness to it. His middle finger slid back and forth several times before penetrating the opening. Colt moved readily, backing into the motion. Les’s mouth went dry at the sight of the rotating hips. He licked his lips watching Colt move his lithe body erotically to increase his own pleasure. Colt’s moans rose into the air as thunder boomed outside, as if trying to drown out his cries. Lightning flashed and lit up the loft.Colt’s heavy breathing and adamant grinding turned Les on. He found himself torn between continuing to finger fuck him and burying his staff inside the hole. “As—As good as this feels, ahh—” Colt paused, panting. “I want to feel your cock in me instead of your finger.” Les gasped. Colt’s breathless plea broke his self-control, making up his mind for him. He withdrew his finger, positioned himself directly behind Colt and− with one well-placed thrust− buried his pole deep inside Colt’s willing tunnel. Colt groaned when Les was fully seated. Les savored the shudder gliding over him from Colt’s body. Long moments passed before he could move within the slick passage. Colt’s ass was the sweetest he’d had in a long time. He had hoped to make the encounter last, but already that delicious feeling tightened his balls, warning him of an imminent climax. Colt worked his hips in a deliberate circular motion, drawing Les’s pleasure from him. Les pumped faster, harder, driving inside the younger man, angling his hips to bring the most pleasure. The sound of their flesh slapping together, mixed along with the heavy scent of sex in the air, drove Les crazy. When Colt’s accommodating movements and satisfied groans increased, it was his undoing. “Shit!” Les yelled as his orgasm took over. Les wavered, dizzy from the strength of his release. He leaned forward onto Colt’s back, letting his cock slip from his lover’s body. Colt eased them onto the hay, allowing Les to roll off him. Les lay motionless as he tried to catch his breath. So far, his notion had been right. No one had made him feel so good or come so fast before. Les rose onto his elbows, turning to his new lover. Colt lay resting with his eyes closed, his half-hard cock lolled on his left thigh. Over the years, Les had taken pleasure in noticing the differences in his lovers, especially their dicks. They all basically looked the same to him, much like his own—some longer, some shorter—but that wasn’t the case with Colt’s. Its golden brown color was beautiful, like none he had ever seen before not even Juan. Les couldn’t help but wonder if it would taste different too. His mouth watered at the prospect of finding out. After staring at Colt’s cock for a few more deciding moments, he nudged Colt in the ribs. Colt turned questioning eyes to him. “Stand up,” Les said.
Les and Colt's story continues in Part of the Posse , now available at Secret Craving Publishing.

Welcome to the Magic Touch Hop and Swag Bonanza!

Hello Magic lovers!

With over 70 authors and sites participating thank you took the time to stop by my little space on the World Wide Web.

I am Jaxx Stele, author of gay romance. I love magic books as a whole. It doesn’t matter to me if the character was born with it like n the Xanth series or whether the learned it somehow like Harry Potter. The mystery, the flair, the adventure hat usually goes with it…it’s all good to me. I couldn’t wait to do one. Unfortunately none of my character told me they wanted to be magical so I had to wait.

I am a slave to my characters’ will. As much as I may like something, if they are not feeling it I cannot write it. They refuse to let me force a personality on them and when I do they story never comes to fruition. Once I have a story come o mind and the characters for that story start to grow, they tell who they are. Once I know who they are they tell me what’s going to happen next. As the author I know the beginning, the middle and he end of the story, but it is the characters themselves that tell me how I get to those points.

I couldn’t have been happier when Cameron came to be. He had a rough social life. He was hooked up with a nut in his first real relationship. You know the type, jealous for no real reason, controlling, knows he’s not good enough for you so he tries to keep you away from people so you don’t notice what a dick he really is, yeah that guy. Anyway, although leery and cautious, Cam was not bitter and fearful about being in another relationship. So when Reynaud came along he didn’t run from the possibility of them being together.

Cam’s Best Friend tells the beginning of their story.
Cameron Gamble was a simple man who ran away from an awkward life. He found a new city to start over in, a new job and the perfect best friend, Mel, a large chocolate lab. It wasn’t long before they were inseparable and Mel had a permanent place in Cameron’s heart. One night, as Cameron recovered from a nightmare, the bright light of the moon revealed Mel’s true nature. All was well in Cameron’s world from that day forth until his ex-lover showed up with the intention of bringing him home.
Available now at Silver Publishing

In this story you follow how they came to be from Cam’s view point and get glimpses of Reynaud’s and his magic abilities as well.

Reynaud’s Redemption is the continuation of their story one year later. With Reynaud’s magic restored this book has much more than glimpses.

Reynaud had everything he ever wanted with Cam and yet something nagged at him. He hoped going ‘home’ would ease his weariness, but it was apparent that things had changed during his absence. Friends had lost their places and enemies had gained power. Will the final confrontation with his past destroy everything Reynaud had in his present preventing him from having a future with Cam?
Available now at Silver Publishing

These are my first magic based romances. I enjoyed them very much and I hope you will too. You can find them at Silver Publishing and all our eBook outlets like Amazon, B&N and Are. Leave your comment below for a chance to win a copy of Cam’s Best Friend and see how it all began!

Welcome to the Cocks and Shamrocks hop!

Hello Hoppers!May the luck of the Irish be upon you as you go through this hop to win prizes! You will be exposed to lots of great authors giving away some fantastic prizes. And let’s not forget the super grand prize!
For this hop I want to talk about my book Marked for Life . Though it has nothing to do with St. Patty’s Day I will be giving it away as a gift so wanted to give you a peek inside. In Marked for Life Victor is just an infant when his parents are killed by an evil wolf shifter. Another wolf saves him and takes him for a mate. A tree sprite promises to raise Victor and keep him safe until he is old enough for Mark De Lonco to claim. Mark waited twenty-five years for the chance to make Victor his, but many obstacles stood in his way. He had much to overcome to prepare a place for him and Victor to be safe.

Victor Bradley was raised by a tree sprite after the death of his parents. When he became an adult he moved to the city, but the pull of the forest never left his heart. He took a leave of absence to take care of the only mother he ever knew, but was it his concern for her that brought him back to the forest or was it fate?
Excerpt:Victor remained in his position until a knock at the door roused him with a start. He looked about taking in the changes in his environment and yawned. He must have fallen asleep without realizing. The room was dark and the light outside the window had dimmed. Victor rubbed his eyes and stood up to stretch. He walked in the living room and hesitantly cracked the door open. His eyes darted from left to right peering through the sliver past the man who stood on the other side.
“Are you alone?” Victor asked.
“Yes.”
Victor’s head tilted. The man was not one of his neighbors. “The people who stay around these parts at this time of year usually stay to themselves. What do you want?”
“I am here to speak to you, Victor.”
Victor jumped inwardly. The stranger knew his name. He was sure he didn’t know the man, although something about him seemed familiar, but he couldn’t put his finger on what it was. Curiosity made Victor widen the crevice to openly scrutinize his visitor further. The man remained silent and didn’t move, seemingly content with letting Victor examine him. Squinting, Victor craned his neck forward. Something about this man was definitely memorable. Looking at him was like putting together pieces of a forgotten dream.
The stranger was taller than he was, and extremely attractive. The black tee shirt he wore fit snugly over the bumps and ridges of his torso. His wavy dark hair hung low on his brow, but was tapered at the back of his head. Victor had not seen such a handsome man before. His features were striking in their masculine beauty. The high cheekbones, strong jaw and long nose were unique to anything he had ever seen, but it was his angular shaped eyes that caught Victor’s attention most.
They were golden brown and filled with a raw intensity that held Victor in a trance like state as they looked back at him. The glistening orbs were truly windows to his soul, for Victor could see right into him. Something there called to him, to his heart, to his soul and to his groin. Many emotions were revealed as he took in the sight of the man before him, lust, longing and love. His brows knitted in confusion. Victor knew this man, but he also knew he had never laid eyes on him before.
“How could”-
“May I come in?”
The soft spoken request cut into his contemplation. The coolness of the late evening air blew across his face bringing the sweet smell of honeysuckle. He blinked rapidly and shook his head to snap himself out of it. Victor stepped to the side and opened the door in invitation. The man walked toward the living room where he sat on the couch. Victor sat beside him. Together they sat silently ogling one another. Finally, Victor leaned back and draped his arm casually across the back of the sofa.
“So who are you? Why do you seem so familiar to me? Have we met?”
Mark smiled and relaxed back as well. “Yes, we have met, but it was many years ago.” He looked around the room. “Where is the sprite?”
Victor’s eyes widened and he sat up with a gasp. “How do you know about Yaya?”
“The sprite and I have met before on several occasions. I am Mark DeLonco. Has she told you about me?” he asked extending his hand.
Victor took his hand and opened his mouth to speak, but gasped instead. At the moment their hands touched, images formed in Victor’s mind. He closed his eyes, trying to get a lock on something he could concentrate on to bring understanding to what he was seeing. They were mostly incoherent pictures, flashes of wolves and men that he didn’t recognized. He was dizzy from trying to decipher the knowledge. Suddenly the imagery started to slow and some things started to make sense. Victor’s heart sped up as things fell into place. As a child he dreamt of a black wolf all the time, but thought nothing of it, but now”
Mark is the man and the black wolf… he thought with a gasp.

Happy Birthday TRR!

Jaxx Steele here to share my pirate book with you, A Day on Plunderer’s Pride.
I have always loved pirates and cowboys. They are usually tough ruggard men with work hardened bodies by their chosen professions in life.
Cowboy law is simple and just. “Don’t fuck with mine and I won’t fuck with yours and if you do...I get to kill you.” Simple and to the point. I love that! There are no misunderstandings when a man comes to you like that.  A pirate’s code however is a little different, but still I love the simplicity of it. If they want your shit they’re going to take unless you’re man enough to stop them and that includes your woman...or in my case your man! LOL
I finally had to write a book to show my love for these life hardened men. So, here is a look at my first pirate story A Day on Plunderer's Pride. I had Chris Hensworth in mind when I created Captain Hazard and L.L. Cool J in mind when I created Nigel, Julian's right hand man in all that he does.

"A pirate’s life is for me!"
Life is hard, but worthwhile on the pirate ship Plunderer's Pride. Follow Captain Julian Hazard and his band of ruffians as they go about their daily business. As you endure their daily struggles and nightly rewards you may find that a pirate's life may be for you, too.
Excerpt:

“The men are on standby, Nigel?” he inquired as they walked along the pier.
Julian knew the answer even as he asked the question. Nigel was an exceptional quartermaster. He knew what Julian expected from him and his crew and he had not been disappointed since Nigel officially took the position.
“Aye, sir, waiting for my call.”
“Good man.”
The governor’s house was not far from the shoreline but away from the denser streets filled with taverns, homes, and the noise that filled the heart of small coastal city. In a short while they were on the stone pathway that led them directly to the door of his stately two-story home.
“Good day, Captain Hazard. You are expected,” a servant told him. “Please follow me.”
The governor was an Englishman with all the comforts his position afforded. The house was large and immaculately decorated. Crystal chandeliers hung from the vaulted ceilings, plush crimson carpet covered the floors, while the walls showed the succession of the men in his family in large golden frames.
“The governor will be with you shortly.”
The oversized room they were left in was scarcely furnished: a few cushioned chairs and small tables to separate them and a circular staircase leading to the upper level. The ceilings and walls were as bejeweled as the rest of the rooms they passed. Captain Hazard looked around the room, frowning before he turned his gaze to his companion.
Nigel stood unmoving, staring straight ahead. His sturdy legs were spread as he stood erect with his chest out and hands clasped behind his back. A light sheen of perspiration glistened faintly on his bald head in the light of the room. His wide chest rose and fell steadily under the tattered tan shirt he wore. Julian glanced at Nigel several times as he paced the floors, admiring his quiet patience. Luckily, before Julian’s intolerance for waiting wore too thin, he heard the clump of heeled shoes on the steps. He turned to the sound.
Sir William Pendleton smoothed the ruffles on his pristine white blouse as he descended the staircase slowly. Two large silver buttons on his abdomen closed the black satin overcoat that swayed along the back of his calves. He exaggerated each step, overextending his legs, causing his foot to hit the stair heavily.
“Greetings, Captain Hazard. So good of you to stop by.” His voice was light and jovial.
“I am here at your request, Governor,” he stated just as cheerfully, walking over to meet him.
“Quite so. Well, in that case, I thank you for answering my summons,” the governor amended, offering the captain a limp wrist handshake. “I am a blunt man, Captain. I will come right to the point of this meeting. You have a reputation of attacking other ships, taking whatever riches they have on board, the crew as well. Is there truth to this accusation?”
Captain Hazard wrapped his arms around his chest and raised a brow. “Aye. I take what I want and trade what I don’t need.” Irritation tinged his voice as he confirmed the allegation without faltering.
The governor raised his hands in surrender. “That is not a criticism, my good man, by no means. I ask because I am in need of such skills.” Governor Pendleton produced another scroll from a nearby desk draw. “This is a Letter of Marque. I would like you to stop a trade ship on its way back from the Americas. It is a Spanish galleon that makes birth out of Santa Domingo. It is said that they carry gold, silver, spices, silks, ivory, and the like. Whatever the cargo is I want it.”
Captain Hazard looked over the letter and nodded. “What is my cut?”
“Bring me half of the goods, and the other half is yours. That seems fair, does it not?”
Hazard thought on his offer. “What of the galleon’s crew?” he asked with a raised brow.
Sir Pendleton waved away his question. “Do what you will with them. Lay waste to whole lot for all I care. They are of no concern to me, only the treasure matters. Do we have an agreement?” he asked impatiently.
Captain Hazard looked over his shoulder at his companion. They had been sailing together for many years. He could read the man very well. Julian looked for signs of caution in Nigel’s handsome but blank expression, but saw none. Satisfied, he re-rolled the scroll and handed it over to Nigel before turning back to the governor.
“Aye, Governor, we have an accord.”
“Excellent! My spies tell me that the ship was due to leave the Americas just this morning in route to Santa Domingo loaded to the brim with my riches. If you leave with the rising sun you should be able to intercept them as they move past Cuba toward Haiti. I do not wish them to return to Hispaniola with riches I have already determined to be mine, Captain Hazard. Do not disappointment me,” Governor Pendleton added pointedly with an air of arrogance before turning on his heels to return to the stairs, abruptly ending their meeting. The captain and his mate left the room quickly.
“Gather the men and meet me on the ship, Nigel. We leave before dawn.”
“Aye, sir,” he said, lagging behind him, already in motion to do his bidding.

Forbidden Love? HA! Not anymore!

Hi everyone!Jaxx Steele here again to wish you all a Happy Valentine’s Day. I for one like Valentine’s Day. I have heard many reasons on how the holiday came to be. Some say the day is a conspiracy made by the candy company to suck money out of people. Others say its conception came from honoring a gruesome massacre that happened somewhere. I think that’s kind of creepy that you would buy gifts for your loved ones to remember a day where so many were killed, but *shrugs* to each his own, right? Anyway, I don’t care where the idea came from. I like to think some extremely busy guy was slacking on putting in the time needed to keep his lover happy came up with a special day he could put on his calendar and have his secretary remind him to go big with the gifts. LOL Either way I love it. I love it so much that I wrote A Year-long Valentine (inside Reflections of Love anthology available at Dreamspinners Press), Vegas Valentine (available at Muse it Hot) and Claiming Cupid. That’s the I’ll be focusing on today. Claiming Cupid is a story is about that forbidden love. You know the ones that are on the off limits list. The best friend, best friend’s sister, your play cousin, brother in all but blood, yeah, all of those people. They’re too close to being family, right? Well, unfortunately you can’t tell the heart what to do. Even if you tried it’s going to do what it wants to do anyway.Daniel and Max are best friends. Max is the lead singer in a band, a virtual rising star with all the groupies and drama that goes with it. Daniel is sick of hearing about the many episodes with the fly by night lovers, groupie sex and one night stands Max has had. After each one Max comes to him drunk and confusion expressing what he really wants and how hard it is to find it. As Valentine’s Day approaches, Daniel comes up with plan to shake some sense into Max.  I wrote this book to show that sometimes what you want the most is right in your face, but if you don’t ask, you don’t get. You know, that whole trees for the forest thing. Here is a peek inside Claiming Cupid.
Daniel was sick and tired of Max’s ‘boyfriends’ dogging him. He thought Max deserved better and wanted him to be his man so he could treat him better, but he was afraid to jeopardize their friendship by making any unwanted moves on. When Max broke up with his latest lover the day before Valentine’s Day, Daniel could take it no more. He put a plan of action in place to claim and protect the heart of his old friend.

Excerpt:Max chuckled and shook his head. "Clearly you don't know how fine you are, Danny. You are one of the most handsome men I have ever seen. That lean swimmer's body of yours makes everything you wear look sexy. Even what you’ve got on now," he said, gesturing up and down at the simple blue pajama pants and white tee shirt. Then he leaned forward on the table and pointed at Daniel. "You know, I always thought you had the same kind of eyes as my mother's cat."Daniel's eyes widened a bit before he laughed. "No, no I don't. That would be totally creepy."Max grinned. "Oh, yes you do. Don't get me wrong: my dislike for cats and the fact I think they're sneaky doesn't extend to you just because your eyes are similar.""Ooowee, what a relief!""Yeah, well, don't get cocky. Yours may be just as brown as your skin, but they're still feline-shaped. So instead of creepy they make you look…" Max's head tilted as he scrutinized Danny further. "I don't know… kind of exotic," he said finally with a shrug. "They look for tall men and you're just as tall as I am. If you wanted, you could have easily been in front of the camera instead of behind it." Max turned his attention back to the drawings.Daniel was shocked. Max had never said he found him attractive. He didn't even know Max looked at him like that. This news thrilled him and gave him the encouragement he needed to put his plan into action."I have the outfits for you to wear on your tour. Whenever you're ready to pick them up.""Thanks, man. I'll come by after lunch today." Max swallowed the rest of his cocoa and dropped the mug to the table with a soft thud. "Ahh, I love this stuff. Hey, I have a suggestion. Since we're both solo this Valentine's Day, what's say we just hang out together? Me and you, Danny. Just two crazy guys." He rotated his arms in a wide circular motion and bounced in his seat.Daniel went to the kitchen and took a few deep breaths, then returned with a small pot to refill Max's cup."Umm, I may have a date for Valentine's Day."Max's brows shot up. "Say what?""Uh-huh, yeah. As a matter of fact, I wanted to ask you for some advice.""Advice?""Yeah, I need some ideas on how to nab him. I want to make him my boyfriend instead of just a friend."Max's expression went blank. The color drained from his face, leaving his usually perfectly pink lips a bland pale shade. He lowered his drink to the table with a thud."Uh, yeah. Sure. I guess I can do that for you."Daniel reached out to tap his friend's hand. "Thanks, Max. You're the best.""Uh-huh. So who is this guy? Do I know him?"He gave Max an exaggerated shrug. "I don't know. You might. You know lots of people, being a superstar and all.""Whatever, man." Max leaned back, wrapping his arms around his chest. "Do I know this guy or not? I don't want you hooking up with some fool just so you can have a date for Valentine's Day."Max's sharp tone and change in posture gave Daniel pause. During the course of their friendship, he had seen Max go through many emotions, except for the one he wanted to see the most. As he eyed his friend over the small wooden dining room table, Daniel saw something he didn't recognize. Max's ebony eyes flashed wildly. He couldn't help but wonder if those shiny black discs looked the same way when they danced with passion. Max's nostrils flared as his breath filled, and he emptied his lungs quickly. He was angry, for sure, but if Daniel didn't know better, he could have sworn there was jealousy underlining it. The thought almost put a smile on his face. He cleared his throat and averted his eyes."He's not a bad guy, Max. We've been friends for a while."Max turned on him with a scoff. "What does 'a while' mean?" he asked with a raised brow. "We have been friends for almost ten years and—""And what?"Max pressed his lips together into a tight line of defiance. "And— and I know all of your friends," he said, turning away."Well, not all of them. I meet a few people now and then. You know, from the fashion shows. And the fittings. You're not into all that, and—""Uh-huh. All right, I'll give you that. So what's his name?"Daniel blinked as his mind went blank. "Reggie," he blurted out."What?" Max screeched, palming the table. "Reggie? That jerk that works at the warehouse you get your fabric from?"Shit!"No, no, not him. It's a different Reggie," Daniel retracted swiftly. "You don't know this one."Max returned to his former position and rolled his eyes. "Uh-huh, and you want my help to snag him? This other Reggie guy?""Yeah. I just need a couple of ideas, maybe even a few position ideas that will take him over the edge when I do them. I want something more out of our friendship."Max's neck turned slowly to land an icy glare that froze Daniel's blood. His voice lowered to a sinister level."You're fucking this guy already?""No!" Daniel said quickly, shaking his palms in the air. His heart thumped behind his chest at heart-attack rate. "No, nothing like that. Okay, forget the position thing. Just some advice is all I need."Max's glare became less intense and Daniel released the breath he was holding. He felt dizzy with relief. available now at Silver Publishing
