My thought for today is that I don't understand all the Fifty Shades of Grey haters. Yes, E.L. James created a character that used Domination to control his own anger, and emotional distress that came from being an abused child. I don't think people should judge the character in that respect unless you've walked a mile in that mans shoes and understand for real where he is coming from. I think the character of Christian Grey is very real. For those of us who are in a relationship we know that there are always up and downs. And the truth is aren't we all fifty Shades? What I mean is, there are so many different and intricate aspects to a persons personality and the way we deal with things. If we were all the same wouldn't that be plain old vanilla? For me it would. I've had a rough few years in my own life and I can definitely say that when the shit hits the fan so to speak we react in a very different way than we would when life is smooth sailing. It's a chance to learn about ourselves and discover our strengths and weaknesses. Of course the rough road of life is always easier when you have a partner who will stand by and support you through the tough times. To me that was Fifty Shades of Grey. Christian had a rough start to life and he met his match in Ana. Yes, she put up with some crap but don't we all when we love someone. Eventually his character evolves through Ana's care and support and his own realizations, but no matter what he's inherently fifty shades. This isn't ironic, apparently our personalities are completely formed by age twenty-five. But what does that really mean anyway? Personalities, wants and needs are so multi-faceted. What we want at age twenty may not entice us at age thirty or forty. So I say kudos to fifty shades and E.L. James. I think her story holds a much larger lesson about love and acceptance.
