Arminius & Thusnelda Versus Rome

G'Day, Everyone, I wrote Arminius and Thusnelda because some women readers of "For the Love of Armin" asked me to do so and to include much more information about Thusnelda and her son, Thumelicus. Be aware that for some reason, Goodreads is yet again showing that my book has been written by the American author Michael Kramer. The reason I use my middle initial and my suffix is to allow people to distinguish between us. So, when buying my books, ensure that the author is listed as Michael G Kramer OMIEAust. I did as asked by the women readers, and the story is much expanded to allow for the new material about Thusnelda and the son of Armin, called Thumeicus. My website is now repaired and fully operational and secure.

Arminius & Thusnelda Versus Romee

G'Day, Everyone, The eBook (Kindle) of my new novel, "Arminius and Thusnelda Versus Rome" is available as a pre-order from www.amazon.com; www.amazon.com.au; www.amazon.co.uk; and www.mgkramerbooks.com; with delivery scheduled for 24/May/2021. The paperback edition is available now from the above sites. I wrote this book because some ladies contacted me after they read "For the Love of Armin". They all thought that it was a very good book, but they also said that they wanted to be able to read more about the wife of Armin or Arminius - she was called Thusnelda. Her amazing story of being a wife, mother, slave, Cherusci princess, has been bought into this amazing book about the wiping out of the Roman army in Germania in 9 A.D.

A Castle of Doomsday

When I wrote "A Castle of Doomsday" it was to mainly write English history in an entertaining way. The secondary aim was to inform people as to the origins and history of the castles in York that were built by William the Conqueror! I thank all readers for your response because I get the impression that all stated objectives in writing "A Castle of Doomsday" have been met. I just hope that everyone enjoys the book and the way it was presented. Those of you who have read the book will remember that the wife of Edward II, who was estranged from his wife called Isobella because of his homosexual ways; was finally bought to heel when Isabella raised an army, invaded England and removed him from power. I feel that has the makings of a great story and it may well become the next book after I finish writing "Arminius and Thusnelda Versus Rome". Kind regards - Michael G KramerOMIEAust.

Arminius & Thusnelda Versus Rome

When "For the Love of Armin' was published, it attracted 24 reviews averaging 4.4 of 5 stars!. Some reviewers' comments were: "A great historical fiction book full of information; however, large parts were in didactic form, making much of the story read like an encyclopaedia! Also, there was "A great story of an expansionary power which was ruthless in obtaining more power at the expense of people. However, I would have loved to read more about the wife of Armin or Arminius. She was called Thusnelda, and I want to know more about this powerful woman! It is my pleasure to announce that I have noticed what people say about my books, and all of the points raised by readers are being addressed in the new work entitled "Arminius & Thusnelda Versus Rome." Currently, there are 795,639 words written in the new work. I expect that to grow to at least over 100,000 words by the time the book has been completed. I expect the new work to be released by March/April of 2021. We shall see! This new book will be completed by the end of March, going by present progress. After that, the editing needs to be carried out, and that may take until April. Kind regards - Michael G Kramer OMIEAust.

Author Interview

Goodreads asked: - "Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?" Answer: -
"Studies in the German leanguage has spilled over into the history of Nothern Europe and a significant part of this was the struggle by the Germanic tribes for independence from Rome."
Goodreads asked: - "How do you get inspired to write?" Answer: - Writing has become a habit: (1) Decide on what to write about. (2) Prepare cards and/or computer files which have the names, dates of birth of the characters, their relationships to others in the book and marital status. These are used as quick reference in times of stress when the memory may become tired."
Goodreads asked: - "What are you currently working on?" Answer: -
"New historical fiction books about events in both Scotland and England. This will take in the coming of Norwegian Vikings to Scotland and the Danish Vikings England. It should start with the coming of the Engels (some people call this Germanic tribe, "Angels") and the Saxons, the fights between the Saxons and the Danish Vikings and then coming of the Normans. I plan on following that with the various kings of England to to King Edward 1 (also known as Edward Longshanks). So far, I think that this could well run into at least 3 to 10 new books. We will see."
Goodreads asked: - "What's your advice to inspiring authors?" - Answer: -
"Keep the text simple and entertaining. Avoid the use of long and complicated words which some people may not understand."
Goodreads asked: - "What is the best thing about being a writer?" - Answer: -
"The author can choose what to write about, what to research and how to write it in order to have a great story."

Overview of 'For the Love of Armin'

The Cherusci tribe were used to sending sons of the nobility to Rome for education and training. Armin and I did so and in return, he became a Roman officer, all the time learning their tactics which he used against the Romans with great effect. In 9 A.D., when he wiped out 3 Roman legions, numbering 20,000 men. 'For the Love of Armin' tells this story with great historical accuracy and it is fully referenced using the Harvard system. This is also the true love story of Armin whom Romans called Arminius and his wife, Thusnelda. After she was betrayed by her father for money, she became a slave. She was heavily pregnant when she was captured and she gave birth to her son called Thumelicus while in capivity. I time, her son became a gladiator who was winning fights, much to the dismay of Tiberius......
