Rumors Against Women
Just wondering, where did the idea come from that women are too emotional, not rational or logical? Where did the idea come from that women are bad drivers? Where did the idea come from that women's brains aren't built for math? Where did the idea come from that women are clumsy and terrible at sports? When did it start and who spread these rumors?
As Virginia Woolf wrote, "The history of men’s opposition to women’s emancipation is more interesting perhaps than the story of that emancipation itself.”

Beat the Heat Hiking in the Mountains
Recently, I enjoyed a cool day beating the Denver heat and hiking at altitude 10,396 feet at Brainard Lake Recreation Area. It's located 90 minutes from Denver in a glacially carved valley with spectacular panoramic views of Brainard Lake, surrounding subalpine forest, and high peaks along the Continental Divide. Usually, there's a bit of snow left even in August.
