Ask Me Anything #48



After a brief hiatus "Ask Me Anything" is back.
You can ask me any questions you'd like, whether it's about my work, opinions, influences, favorites, least favorites, this Summer's crop of movies, or anything else you think I might have an answer for. Questions can be posted in the comments section below, and I'll either answer them there, or in a separate post sometime later in the month.
I've been asked a lot of good, thought provoking questions in the past as well as some really banal ones, all of which I tried to answer. Time Waster

Someone sent me the link to one of those click bait "articles." You know the ones: "10 Celebrities Who Were Born in a Tow Truck" or "The 15 Most Terrifying Spider-Clown Hybrids." In this case, I was actually included on the list among some distinguished company. If you have nothing better to do, check out "10 Shocking Reasons Marvel and DC Writers Quit." For everyone here, this will be old news.

Grim Gallery Turns 5



My companion blog, The Grim Gallery, devoted to all things monstrous, is now in it's 5th year. If you like monsters, go take a look. There are now well over 1400 images of monsters to dig through, some of them quite rare, and all from my personal collection.

Opening Tonight



if you live in Los Angeles, like art, and are looking for something to do tonight you might want to attend the opening of The Idiot Box 2 tonight at Gallery 1988: West. Dedicated to artwork inspired by television you'll find a lot of great work by a bunch of talented artists. A Boy and His Dragon



Here's a look at "A Boy and His Dragon" depicting Eddie Munster taking his pet, Spot for a stroll around the block. This is cut paper and a whopping 9" x 33" in size and will be featured as part of "The Idiot Box 2" at Gallery 1988: West, opening Friday, May 1st from 7:00pm - 10:00pm and running through May 16, 2015.

Opening Tonight


The "Postcard Correspondence" show opens tonight at Gallery 1988 (West). Lots of original art will be on hand as well as very affordable postcard reproductions. Scroll down to the previous post to see my own contribution to this show which will be available both as the original, and in a signed limited edition of 50 postcards. On Exhibit at the Zissou Society Aquarium



I created the above piece from cut paper for the "Postcard Correspondence" show which opens at Gallery 1988 this Friday. The image depicts the Crayon Ponyfish from The Aquatic Life of Steve Zissou  and is meant to be a souvenir that could be purchased at the gift shop of the Zissou Society Aquarium.

Both the original piece, and a limited run of 50 signed and numbered, as well as very affordable, postcard reproductions will be available at Gallery 1988 once the show opens.

"Postcard Correspondence" opens at Gallery 1988: West, 7308 Melrose Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90046, on Friday, March 20, 2015 from 7:00 - 10:00 PM and runs through April 4, 2015.
