Next book is done, but release will be in a few months
My next book is done! More or less. It's being copyedited right now. The title is A Safe Space and I'm still working on the synopsis (it's kind of up on Goodreads, but I don't like how it reads at the moment). It is basically the sequel to Break It Up, but it stands alone just fine. The lead character is Lizzie Warner, roommate to Kyra Armijo, and her story really has nothing to do with Break It Up or the rest of the Fairytale books. It just occurs in the same universe.
Things will be a little different with this launch. I have a publicist now! I'm very excited to be partnering with WordSmith Publicity and they will be doing a lot of the launch details coordination, while I'll still do my ARC mailings and such like always. They will schedule the cover reveal for the book and the release date will be no less than two months after the cover reveal, so expect it in July at the earliest (right in the middle of when I'm moving house. Am I crazy to do that? No. I just really like having an excuse to get out of the packing. My husband and I have a deal. He does the heavy lifting, and I don't complain about anything that gets broken or lost or left behind. And if I distract myself with a book launch, I likely won't even notice or remember.)
And while the gears are in motion for the launch of A Safe Space, I'll get back to writing the third Fairytale book, The Hunt for the Big Bad Wolf.

Back, and consolidating!
Any of you patient people who are my fans know that I've been away from this site for a while. I started a business, formatting books, and it took off WAY faster than I anticipated. Were I doing this alone, it would be a full time job and I'd be making a living. Fortunately, I'm not doing this alone, but instead have three other amazing formatters to team up with. We're at www.emtippettsbookdesigns.com.
These last couple of weeks we turned an important corner. I'll still likely be up into the wee hours of the morning a lot of nights and such, but the business has fallen into a rhythm that is sustainable, and I can finally pry my hands from their death grip on the proverbial wheel and return my attentions to other important things, like this site.
Looking over all my online presence, here's what I'm going to do. I won't divide my blogging between here and www.emilymah.com anymore. Emily Mah is who I began my blogging life as, and that's where I'll stay with the regular updates about random stuff like my art and life and writing mentality and all that, so for anyone interested in this kind of thing, I'll direct you over to www.emilymah.com to follow that blog. This blog, in the meantime, is going to become just a news update feed for my E.M. Tippetts career, with information about what I'm working on now and what's next.
So in the spirit of that, I can announce that the next book that I'll release has the working title, A Safe Space, and is another Fairytale spinoff. This one follows the life of Lizzie Warner, Kyra Armijo's roommate. It's another child-star coming of age piece, and I'm releasing this one next because it grabbed hold of me and wouldn't let go. Lizzie's the former child star who never had time for a love life or even a date, but she's working on a prime time drama series that will require her to do things like kiss her co-stars, and she is so not ready for that.
Enter Devon, a personal trainer at her gym with smoking hot looks, a perfect body, and a massive ego. He doesn't do relationships or even second dates.
Part of this will be predictable to you: He seems to have a thing for Lizzie, as the bad boy willing to be good for her. But I'm not interested in the cliche plot. I never am. Right now the book is to the point where the characters are alive and talking and the scene order is all falling into place. I plan to get it to the editor in a couple of weeks. I think you guys will like Lizzie and Devon! I certainly do!
Meanwhile, hello again. My posts won't be frequent, but I'll draft one whenever I've got news.

Pieces of Jade by Lani Woodland and Melonie Piper

by Lani Woodland and Melonie Piper
Sentenced to death by the man she loves . . .
Jade has no control over her future. She is the Emmía, the girl whose magical blood keeps her kingdom’s cursed soil fertile and ensures the survival of her people. But her destiny is ruined when pirates take her magical medallion, the loss of which is treasonous, and the prince she loves is honor-bound to sentence her to death.
Forced to flee to the pirate she hates . . .
Jade escapes from prison, but her sister is captured and will die in her place unless Jade returns with the medallion still on the pirates’ ship. In disguise, she joins the pirate crew where she finds herself drawn to the first officer, William, and his claims of the crown’s hidden brutality in the kingdom. But when Jade learns the fate of every Emmía before her, she is finally forced to choose her own destiny: die a martyr or live a rebel.

The book file is complete. The preview function works, this is a NOOK Press error. Anyone who's had this please contact NOOK and get the file updated. If they won't give it to you, email me.
I'm VERY sorry this has happened. It's a bug that's popped up lately and also hit Caisey Quinn's Keep Me Still.

New covers for Fairytale and Damsel live!
It's past midnight as I type this, and I'm tired, so I'll keep it short and sweet. Fairytale and Damsel now have new covers, and I reformatted the interiors to match. So far only the ebooks are up, paperbacks to follow.
These covers were done by Sarah Hansen of Okay Creations. She came up with a concept that would have never occurred to me - which is why I prefer not to design my own covers ;-)

Launched! Break It Up
Yes, I'm posting at 4 a.m. Been formatting books all night. But it's time to celebrate the launch of my latest book, Break It Up!

Kyra Armijo is making a few changes in her life. One of them being, she's no longer going to give it up to every guy who looks at her twice. And she's putting her hopes and dreams for her future first. When the aspiring photojournalist gets the opportunity of a lifetime to tag along with international boy band sensation, Triple Cross, she can't pass up the chance.
The only problem is that she's in love with one band member, dodging the unwanted attention of another, and desperate to keep her turbulent past under wraps. Triple Cross have "nice guy" appeal, approved of by parents the world over, but have just let go their longtime manager, who controlled their clean image and media exposure with an iron fist. When Zach Wechsler, the object of Kyra's affection, begins to show interest, she has to be careful.
Surely one girl can't destroy a band that's been together for ten years... only what if she can? Kyra knows she's one bad decision away from ruining everything she's worked for, and taking the hottest act of her generation down with her.

Layla Flaherty had the perfect life, or close to it. Until a stranger gunned her parents down right in front of her, leaving her with seizure inducing PTSD. After years of trying to pass as normal and failing miserably, she resigns herself to being invisible. But new to town Landen O’Brien sees her, and he likes what he sees. Much to Layla’s surprise, he doesn’t freak out when she has a seizure in front of him. He does the exact opposite, calming her until the tremors subside. But Landen has secrets of his own. Secrets that both bind them together and tear them apart.
Scarred by loss, Layla leaves her hometown of Hope Springs, Georgia, hoping to put her painful past behind her and start over in college in California. When she runs into Landen at freshmen orientation, she has a choice to make. Reinforce those steel walls she's built up around herself or give the only boy who can keep her still a second chance.
Landen’s more than ready to tear down those walls but this time when they come crashing down, they might bury her.
