Weekend Roundup
Friday was cardio day, and boy did I get my heartrate up, LOL! So it’s been really hot here, and Maggie and I went out early for a walk. We hadn’t been walking long, when I spotted something in the road ahead of us.
I enlarged it a bit here:
I stopped cold, and said out loud, “That’s a snake. That’s a snake.” I guess I had to repeat it to make it sink in. To be clear we were pretty far back, and I zoomed in a bit on the first shot, using one hand because no way was I letting go of Maggie’s leash.
I have no clue if it was dead or alive, and I sure as h*ll wasn’t getting close enough to find out, especially since that appears to be a rattlesnake. Nope, when it comes to snakes, I’m all about social distancing! Anyway, we backtracked, took another path out of the field, and we haven’t returned since then. There’s a lot of grasses and weeds growing in the field from all the rains, and too many places I wouldn’t even see a snake. I stay on the roads this time of year, but I just don’t want to risk accidently getting too close. I’ll let the snakes have the field to themselves until I feel more confident.
Otherwise, the weekend was good. How was your weekend?

Friday Five
TGIF!! It’s time to share five random things about our week:
It’s HOT here. In the 90s! Last week was cold and rainy. Crazy. The upside is everything is green and pretty.
I’ve been able to get a little writing done this week. It’s been a fight to carve a path for the last quarter (maybe a third) of this book. But one step at a time. I’ve tried varying things to find ways to write with my physical issues, and some things have helped!
Speaking of changes. At the beginning of the year, I tried some different things with my diet to help my stomach, and to my utter surprise, it’s improved probably 30 or 40%. It’s unlikely my stomach will ever be “perfect” for…well…reasons. But three things helped, cutting way down on artificial sweeteners (diet coke

I ordered a new inexpensive chair from Target for Maggie. The old chair is literally disintegrating. We ignored it for weeks, but last Friday I was fed up and ordered the chair. We’re still waiting for delivery… LOL! Who knows when/if it’ll show up these days.
This is me surviving CoronaVirus. I’m just embracing the low maintenance vibe.

So that’s my five, now I’d love to hear yours! I hope you have a great and healthy weekend.

Weekend Roundup
Another exciting quarantine weekend
Friday, at least I got to see Biker Witch (my sister) for a few minutes. We didn’t touch or kept six feet between us, but it was nice to see her. I stopped by to drop something off for her on my home from my doctors. It was nice just to physically see both her and her Biker Hubby. Again, we stayed outside and kept a distance. We both had masks too.
Saturday, I went to Youngest son’s to pick up some masks we need. We did the same thing–stayed outside and kept a safe. distance. But the hilarious thing about that? One of his big dogs was going back and forth between us, and we were both petting her. Um…FAIL. LOLOL! It’s okay, we were aware of it. The way we look at it is all about mindful, calculated risks. But still, I didn’t hug my son when I left. So I’d quite literally hugged his super affectionate dog, but not my son. Probably no Mom Of The Year award for me
Sunday, was Oldest’s Son’s birthday. We were really, really close to going out there just to see him, and our grandson. But at the last minute, we recalculated the risk and decided we’d have to wait because Wizard will be seeing two family members (for essential reasons) this week who are very high risk. Oldest son understood.
And I did a little writing this weekend, so that’s a win. It’s time to adjust to the new reality and work. If people around us stay safe and healthy, I’ll write more this week!
That was my weekend, how was yours?

Friday Five
Another week in our New Reality, and time to share five random things about our week. Here’s mine:
This week, I ran to Costco for some stuff, and Wow they were organized! It’s the second time I’ve gone during this pandemic, and both times, they kept things moving. I’m wearing my mask, being careful and washing my hands

I had a medicine refill mistake that was 50% my fault and 50% the pharmacy’s. Just to be clear, I’m fine and no harm done. When I took the medicine in and explained the problem, they quickly refilled it correctly. I know they are slammed with panicked, and in some cases, irrational and demanding people. Yet they are still working hard and handling things professionally.
I refuse to engage in the white noise going on with the self-appointed experts on social media. We just trying to keep ourselves healthy, and we do small things to help others since neither Wizard or I have any medical and otherwise essential skills. But we can shop for high-risk relatives, take them to medically necessary appointments, little stuff like that. And each day, I try to find one person who was targeted by an idiot and say something positive in the comments to counterbalance cruel and stupid trolls out there. It’s not much but it makes me feeling like I’m doing something, as opposed to nothing.
So far, I’ve resisted baking, but I will be making chocolate chips cookies soon, like possibly even today.
Yesterday I called my doctor’s office. I’m NOT sick. However, I’ve been watching a very small skin lesion, and decided I’d better check with my doctor before I let this go too long. The office was incredibly fast and organized, I called about 8:30 am and they schedule a tele-visit at 10:40 am. My doctor called way earlier than my assigned time because he’s the type to just get things done, LOL! Once I explained, he switched to a video conference. After seeing the small lesion, he determined the best course of action is to come in and have it frozen off rather than wait and see. So I’m going in this morning. I am very impressed with how well they handled this, even assuring me that they were seeing few patients and taking all precautions in relationship to Covid-19. I wasn’t even worried to begin with

So that’s a few things about my week. Now I’d love to hear your five random things!
Stay safe and well, and have a nice weekend.

Quarantine Weekend Roundup
I can sum it up in one word–boring
We had as nice as possible under the circumstances Easter. We watched videos of, and video-chatted with, Turbo. Turbo mostly likes seeing Maggie when we video chat He thinks watching her race up and down the stairs is hilarious. For dinner, we made tri tip, rice and green beans, and opened up another bottle of wine.
In other news, Wizard and I have agreed we’re going on a wine-tasting trip once we’re freed from this hell, uh, safe-at-home quarantine. We rarely ever open our good wines, and this is the 2nd bottle we’ve opened in a weeks, LOL! Gotta enjoy the little things. And be grateful for the big things, like the fact that so far, we, and our family and friends, are all well and safe.
I don’t have much to share today, but I hope all of you had a wonderful Easter and we’re able to communicate with your loved ones. At least technology gives us more ways to stay in contract.
So how was your weekend?

Friday Five
Sorry, guys, this is all I got this week:
So. Much. Rain. It’s more of a steady rain with breaks here and there rather than a torrential downpour, so flooding is less of a worry. But we rarely ever has so much rain this time of the year. It’s just weird.
Anyone else feel like they’re living in a dystopian novel? Where is the love-sick teenager who will save us all?
Wizard commented that I’m managing to stay busy. Um…yes I’m at the computer for hours a day, but I’m pretty much chasing my tail with a trying to fit 22 plots into 50 pages, then deleting the mess and starting over again. And again. And again.
Maggie sits at the back window staring at the rain, then she looks up at me with pleading eyes as if I can make it stop. I actually apologize to her for the weather like it’s my fault Mother Nature can’t find the off switch.
Here’s a pic of my grand-puppy Jett laughing himself silly when I told him the plot for my latest book idea. Good thing I love Jett, LOL!

That’s my stuck at home and a little depressed Friday Five. I bet your five is much more interesting than mine! I hope everyone is healthy and enjoys the weekend!

Weekend Roundup
First, Wizard, myself, and the family all are well (at least as of last night when I wrote this). I hope the same is true for all of you.
Wizard had a decent Pandemic Lockdown Birthday. And there’s a phrase I never thought I’d use, LOL! We had ribs, apple pie and half a bottle of Merlot wine. With the help of youngest son, we managed to get him some gifts, and the thanks goes directly to all the people out there packaging and delivering under truly frightening circumstances. Youngest son made me promise I would not go to Home Depot to pick up the gift myself
Just when I think things can’t get any stranger, our county declared that we cannot leave the house without masks. And it will be enforced with up to a $1,000 fine and/or possible jail time. Two law enforcement officers died from COVID 19 this last week, and they are not messing around. From what I’ve been able to ascertain in the confusion–they are expecting an explosion of COVID 19 here in Riverside County of California. It’s surreal. Wizard and I will comply because this is one of those safe is better than sorry situations. I don’t want to get sick and I really don’t want to get anyone else sick.
But then…plot twist! Now we are under an Potential Flood Watch for today. So we’re on lock down, can’t go outside without masks and we might have to evacuate…to where exactly????? Bwhahahaha!!! I can’t make this crap up
Now just for a little fun, let’s play “I have Quarantine ____ “(fill in the blank as many times as you want). Here’s mine:
I have Quarantine….
Bangs. (Wizard has offered to cut my bangs, LOLOLOL!! Umm, no, thanks)
Gray roots.
Snacking disorder.
ADHD.
Okay, so what about you guys? How was your weekend, and do you want to play “I have Quarantine _______.”?
Stay well!
