Black Gate does Wold Newton: #4 of 4

The fourth and final Black Gate post covering the recent Titan Books anthology, Tales of the Wold Newton Universe , is now live. In this installment, Christopher Paul Carey interviews me about the Wold Newtonian influences on my contribution to the book, "The Wild Huntsman."
[Philip José] Farmer’s world-building, drawing on the best in adventure, mystery, horror, thriller, and science fiction, made an indelible imprint on my psyche. Once one studies the source materials, Farmer’s Wold Newton genealogy, and his methods, one can join in on the Game, just as Sherlockians do with the Great Detective, and propose new genealogical connections or characters who exist in the wider Wold Newton Universe (WNU)
The WNU provides a ready-made storytelling backdrop, and it been my privilege to add to the tapestry with my tales of Pat Wildman and the hidden origins of the Wold Newton Family.
Check out the full post here.

VENUS ON THE HALF-SHELL by Philip José Farmer

My comps of the Titan Books edition of Philip José Farmer's hilarious novel Venus on the Half-Shell arrived today. This edition has a lot of extras and the final package came together really well.

It's a tad bittersweet, as this is the final Farmer book that Titan is releasing, but its been a good run, twelve Farmer books in three years. Farmer hasn't been this much in print in a couple of decades, and I'm very proud to have been a part of the initiative.

And I know that there's more Farmer coming from the good folks at Meteor House, as well as more international editions in the works from publishers such as Atlantis Verlag.

Here are the Venus extras. It's available now for preorder, so why not hop on over to Amazon or B&N and send the Titan series out with a bang?

Introduction by Philip José Farmer: "Why and How I Became Kilgore Trout"Preface by Philip José Farmer: "The Obscure Life and Hard Times of Kilgore Trout"Afterword by Philip José Farmer: "Jonathan Swift Somers III: Cosmic Traveller in a Wheelchair"Afterword by Jonathan Swift Somers III: "Trout Masque Rectifier: Now It Can Be Told Differently: The Truth About Trout"Afterword by Christopher Paul Carey: "More Than Real Life Itself"

New AVENGER ebook

I'm very pleased to see that the third Avenger anthology from Moonstone Books, The Avenger: Roaring Heart of the Crucible, is now out in ebook. The book has authentic tales about the pulp hero, The Avenger, by many great writers, and I was pleased to contribute a story, "According to Plan of a One-Eyed Trickster," which rounds out a storyline from the first and second books (my tales "Death and the Countess" and "Happy Death Men").

Honey West & T.H.E. Cat: A GIRL AND HER CAT - More preordering info

Since I posted a few days ago about the new Honey West/T.H.E. Cat novel, A Girl and Her Cat, being listed in the November issue of Diamond Previews, I've received some inquiries from interested readers who are not comics readers, asking how to go about ordering the book.

I've found some links to order the book (which is a signed hardcover and a Previews Exclusive) direct from some web-based outlets--and, bonus, most of these are offering the book at a discount!
