Stone in the Sky Cover!
So excited that the USA Today Happy Ever After section featured the cover of STONE IN THE SKY. I wrote a little essay about loving the beast / alien to go along with it. Those of you who’ve read TIN STAR will get why.
Years ago, Tula Bane was beaten and left for dead on a remote space station far from Earth, her home planet. She started with nothing and had no one, but over time, she found a home, a family, and even love. When it’s discovered that the abandoned planet beneath the station is abundant with a rare and valuable resource, aliens from across the galaxy race over to strike it rich. With them comes trouble, like the man who nearly killed Tula years ago—the man she has dreamed of destroying ever since.
STONE IN THE SKY finishes Tula Bane’s story. The book is out 2/24/15 and available to pre-order now! Powells. Indiebound. B&N. And that other evil spot.
Signed pre-orders for Stone in the Sky (or for any of my books signed) are available at Skylight Books

Future Landscapes
Whether it’s a dystopian society, the aftermath of an apocalypse, or an unknown intergalactic landing point, the way YA novels envision the future is often complex and layered with problems and untapped possibilities. A dynamic group of authors including Emily Lloyd Jones (Illusive), Benny Zelkowicz (Foundry’s Edge), Romina Russell (Zodiac), Michael Johnston (The Heart of Dread series), Pierce Brown (Red Rising), Cam Baity (Foundry’s Edge), Charles Yu (How to Survive in a Science Fiction Universe), Benny Zelkowitcz (Foundry’s Edge), and Cecil Castellucci (Tin Star) discuss how they create their worlds of tomorrow, the architecture and outlining involved, and what we learn about our contemporary selves as a result of these future landscapes.
