This is the Thane Talopali of old with the shivling in the lotus instead of the big temple that stands there today

There used to be a time when bikes in India sounded different. There were two strokes on the market even 10 years ago. Each brand had its own distinctive note. King among those in the 100 cc category was the Yamaha RX 100 with its robust voice. And then there was the emperor - the likes of which we aren't likely to see again - the Yamaha-Rajdoot RD 350. The parallel twin when revved up was a treat to the ears. And what power! With due respect to the green movement, four strokes just aren't 'it'. Except for the glorious Bullet, they all sound similar and characterless. Even worldwide, two strokes are dying out. Most nations probably don't allow them on the roads for all I know. Even Grand Prix racing no longer has 500 cc two stroke V4s at the top end. Somebody bring back the two strokes please.

Saw one of the best ever races yesterday. The 2006 Malaysian MotoGP. Valentino Rossi and Loris Capirossi swapped the lead so many times, that the commentator said something like "... that's more overtaking in the last lap, than all of this year in F1 ....". Couldn't agree more. F1 is more glamorous than MotoGP. But just the commentators repeating things like ".... and the drama continues....", or "...what great strategy..." and so on, doesn't make the race any more exciting. Who do they think they are fooling? The 125cc races are probably more fun.
But, apart from the Rossi-Capirossi fight yesterday, having not seen much of the other races this year, I don't know if MotoGP is any different. The last two years were mostly a procession with Rossi in the lead. And there was Mick Doohan sometime before that - Michael Schumacher on two wheels. It got pretty monotonous after a time, unless you were a Doohan and/or Repsol Honda fan. It was more interesting to watch the fight between Tetsuya Harada and Max Biaggi in the 250cc class.
So, bigger is not necessarily always better. In fact, apparently, people find NASCAR more interesting than F1, though Juan Pablo Montoya leaving F1 for NASCAR doesn't necessarily prove this.
