4.10 :: Fantastic GALLA Festival

The 2nd Annual Gay & Lesbian Literary Arts Festival wraps up tomorrow in Ft Lauderdale at the Stonewall Library, Museum & Archives. The past two days have been jam-packed with stimulating panels on writing, editing & publishing. The lesbian fiction flag was carried this year by JM Redmann, Susan X Meagher, Lee Lynch, Ali Vali & Joanne T Lewis. As a member of the Board of Directors, I was honored to be part of the host committee, and really enjoyed moderating two panels, Making the Case for...

3.23 :: Auction item for Starship Hospital

If you've followed my blog, you already know that I came to lesbian fiction via the Xenaverse, as a writer of fanfiction from the TV show Xena: Warrior Princess. The show has been off the air for 9 years, but the fandom is still going strong. At its heart is its devotion, not only to the show's stars, Lucy Lawless & Renee O'Connor, but to their charitable causes. Each year the inimitable MaryD, owner of the Australian Xena Information Page (AUSXIP) hosts an auction to raise money for these...

3.17 :: Big news from Stonewall Library

First, let me apologize for letting so much time pass between updates. We had a wonderful Y Tour event in Ft Lauderdale last month, but I took no -- zero, zilch, nada -- photos the entire week. I was waiting to steal someone else's but never followed through. Bad thief. Lots of folks posted pics on Facebook, but linking those is only useful if the pics belong to your FB friends, in which case you've probably seen them already. For a rundown of how much fun we had without you, check out this...

2.11 :: On the eve of the Y Tour

We're kicking off things here in Ft Lauderdale tomorrow -- 6 p.m. at the New Moon Bar in Wilton Manor. Owner Carol Moran is throwing us a welcome party with free beer, wine & snacks, and we're determined to meet everyone who comes in the door. In attendance: Katherine Forrest, Karin Kallmaker, Dillon Watson, & with her very first book bowing this week, Amy Dawson Robertson.

Saturday is a workday at Stonewall Library & Archives. Director Jack Rutland has promised he'll have work for everyone, ...

1.30 :: California, here I come!

It's time for the annual Xena Con again, when I get to see dozens of longtime friends and celebrate that which brought all of us together -- a quirky, campy love story of a warrior woman and her bard -- Xena: Warrior Princess. I'll be signing copies of my latest, Photographs of Claudia, along with Sea Legs and others. If you're planning to go and want me to hold something in reserve, drop me a note through the Contact Page here.

In case you missed it a couple of weeks ago, Missy Good, Linda C...

1.15 :: Fantastic news from Bella Books!

Wondering what you'll do this weekend now that you've exhausted your supply of new books? Photographs of Claudia won't be released until next Tuesday, so you can cross that one off your list ... or maybe not.  If you're eager to read the story of studio photographer Leo Westcott and Claudia Galloway, the subject of both her portfolio and daydreams, the waiting is over. I'm *extremely excited* to announce that all of my ebooks -- including this brand new release -- are now available through...

1.5 :: Photographs of Claudia ready to order

I know they're stocked in the warehouse already because Ray the UPS Man stomped onto my porch last week and dropped a box at my door. It's even more beautiful in my hand. Now you know I'm not above tossing a bit of gratuitous nudity on the cover to get your attention, but there's something special about this lovely pose -- it's a scene from the book. I swear it, see Chapter 20. That Claudia is a hottie! If you haven't already done so, skip on over to the Book page and read an excerpt.

You...

12.28 :: Yet another Top 10 list for 2009

Top 10 lists are a staple of the final week of December, and I hate to go against the grain. Besides, I did it last year so now it's a tradition. Here's a list of my 2009 highlights. Thanks to those of you who were a part of any, either attending an event, or just picking up one of my 2009 releases.

10. Getting a book out is a big event. Getting out 3 in the same year earns a spot on the Top 10 list. Not sure I'll ever pull off that feat again.

9. Back in June I rolled through the Music C...

12.14 :: Updates on the Y-Tour

... but first, click on that gorgeous cover above and read the excerpt from Photographs of Claudia. :-)

The Y-Tour is hitting the road in February. Escape the winter doldrums and join the Bella authors in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida for a weekend of partying, volunteering, and best of all -- booking! I announced our tentative plans here a few weeks ago but we've had some changes. Our headliner for the event is none other than Katherine V. Forrest, and she'll be joined by Karin Kallmaker, Ruth...

12.2 :: Excerpt from Photographs of Claudia

My upcoming release, Photographs of Claudia, has cleared the editor & proofreaders, so I'm ready to share a bit of it.  Normally I post Chapter 1, but I've skipped over the intro to the book so you could meet the main characters. Leonora Westcott -- Leo to her friends -- is a studio photographer working in Monterey, California. While taking school photos, she meets Claudia Galloway, a teaching intern, and they hit it off. If you enjoy those stories where love blossoms from friendship, I...
