Today

Good Morning,
My nephew graduates from high school today. He is that last of the first cousins in that generation to make this leap. I suppose I am getting old. This morning I am working on my new book: "The Chief." It is a dystopian political thriller reflective of today's politics in the U.S. I am really enjoying writing it. The writing is quite different from the meticulously researched historical fiction I usually write.
If you are one FB i invite you to like my author page to keep up with what I am working on.

Bataan Death March

Since it is Memorial Day I decided to start my first ever blog by remembering my dad's first cousin, James Eugene Perry. When WWII broke out in Europe he wanted to help. Against their judgment, he parents permitted him to enlist in the Army at 17 years old.
Cousin Gene went to the Philippines. He ended his Army career as one of about 100,000 defenders of the Bataan Peninsula. He was there at the surrender. He started out with 70,000 comrades on the famous Bataan Death March. The family never heard from him again.
Fair winds and following seas. -Dave
