For my book giveaway, there will be a multiple choice question about Sally, who is our heroine in Surrender. You will find the clue to your answer in this teaser below, enjoy!
Surrender: Coalition Mates 4 Excerpt:
Sally made her way down the hall to the great room and quickly noticed that she seemed to be the last one to join. Most were speaking quietly in small groups, and a few were talking with the alien women that had rejoined them. The hyper little woman with the pink hair from earlier, however, seemed to be waiting for Sally to emerge because as soon as she spotted her, she jumped up and rushed toward her in an excited waggle that reminded Sally of a crazed squirrel looking for a place to stash her nuts.
“Hi, Sally!” the vibrating dynamo squeaked out. “So did you figure out what you’re going to do? I’m going to study marine biology! I’m so excited I could almost burst. I’ve always wanted to go to university but could never afford it back home. Isn’t this just the greatest thing that could ever happen?”
It was all Sally could do to not laugh outright at how excited the odd little woman was. Devyn was literally out of breath and panting when she finally stopped talking. The little dynamo obviously should be medicated or something to bring down the ‘perk’, but what she’d said did make Sally think about what was happening. Was this the greatest thing that could’ve happened? Obviously not. But was it the worst thing that could’ve happened to her? Sally had to take a hard look at her life as a whole. She wasn’t really leaving anything behind on Earth, no job, no family, no pet even. The only real friend that she had was Evie and she would be here with her, so there was nothing to do but adapt to her new situation as best she could. That was one thing life had taught her, you adapt or you get left behind.
“Yeah, that sounds great, Devyn. I’ve applied to enter the courtesan guild here on Sirus, so I hope it works out,” she answered, sounding much less enthusiastic than her neighbor.
“Oh.” Devyn’s eyes grew impossibly larger at that information. “That sounds exciting. I heard that the Sirotians have some sort of mind-control abilities. Guess that’s why they’re supposed to be the best at seducing people, huh? I wonder if they can teach you that?”
That was news to Sally. But she had to assume in this situation that she was no longer the smartest person in the room when it came to learning about all these alien species. Good thing they were teaching classes! But one of Sally’s hard, fast rules in life was, even if you don’t know exactly what’s going on, fake it till you make it. Uncertainty was a show of weakness that Sally had learned from a young age that she couldn’t indulge in. Predators always went for the weak or confused in the herd, and Sally wouldn’t ever be prey again.
“Well, Devyn, in my experience, as long as a man has a penis, he’s generally not that hard to seduce,” she answered with a liberal amount of sarcasm loud enough that a few of the other groups of women were chuckling when they heard her comment.
“Ladies! Please take a seat, and we will begin with your cultural and etiquette lessons. Now, there is a large amount of information to absorb, so you will be taking these classes daily for the time that you are with us, along with the curriculum for whichever career path you have chosen,” Lady Samal said as she casually went to the front of the room. It was obvious from her demeanor and grace that she had a lot of experience with speaking in front of groups.
As the rest of the women found comfortable seats on the low couches, Sally saw Caric come back into the room and speak in a low tone to the older woman. Sally couldn’t hear what was said, but clearly, whatever it was surprised Lady Samal from the look on her face. Then, when both women immediately turned to look speculatively right at her, Sally assumed Caric had just informed Lady Samal about her career choice. She couldn’t understand why it was such a big deal, but if Lady Samal was involved in the guild of her choice, she had better turn the charm on right now instead of waiting for her interview. Better safe than sorry, right?
Sally immediately put on her game face, ready to dazzle and distract with charm and charisma. Never frown. Never let them see what you’re really thinking or feeling. After all, when you put on a show, people rarely look deeper than the façade that you easily offer up. Sally could only hope that it wasn’t only human nature that adhered to the “out of sight, out of mind” adage. So with her empty bucket filled with bravado and bullshit, Sally smiled brightly, volunteered to help with any demonstrations, and absorbed as much information as she possibly could for the rest of the afternoon. As the women walked back to their rooms after their dinner meal, Sal’s face actually hurt from smiling so much. She couldn’t wait to get into her room and close the door so she could actually breathe. It was exhausting being someone else all the time. For a fleeting moment, Sally couldn’t help but wonder if this new world might be an opportunity to try to be herself for a change, but almost before the thought was done, it was replaced by all of the cruelty and disappointment that had littered her childhood. No, she couldn’t take that risk again.

The Gift
Love is without reason.
But what need have I for reason when I find myself in your arms?
I want to lose myself to the softness of your caress and drown in the warmth of your scent.
Love is without boundaries.
But what need have I for boundaries when I feel the touch of your fingertips on my skin?
When my hand is in yours I feel as though I’ve finally found my home.
Love is without control.
But what need have I for control when the very sound of your voice leaves me breathless in anticipation?
Every tiny thought leads my mind to you throughout the day, making me count the seconds until I’m within your embrace.
Love is without end.
But what need have I for tomorrow when my heart refuses to look past the beauty of your face in front of me.
The future’s hurt has no room in today’s reality; the memory of love will always endure.
Love is a gift.
Be thankful when you have it within your grasp, and reach for it when it stands before you.

Echoes
Every breath has me remembering the taste of your mouth.
Every touch is feeling the echo of your skin brushing against mine.
Every smile has me seeing the curve of your lips.
Every thought has me wondering what you would think.
Every laugh makes me want to share it with you.
Every night is filled with the longing to hold you.
Everything I am is missing everything in you.

Just a little poetry for you this Tuesday morning, thanks for reading!

Hello there! Today we have the new release from the lovely Elena Kincaid, the first in her new Pack Warriors series. I personally loved her previous books, so I’m looking forward to checking this one out!
Blurb:

A fiery passion blooms between Gemma and her men, one that heals her body and soul, but a dangerous war still lies ahead. Will they be successful at stopping an evil tyrant before another girl goes missing or will Gemma pay the ultimate price? With her life!
Check out the book trailer for Alpha Blood by clicking here!
Excerpt:
Gemma still ached all over, but the pain was now dull and tolerable. She knew her reprieve would be short. More pain waited for her throughout the night. Something was different, however. Warmth surrounded her on both sides as she rested on what felt like a soft bed. A pillow cushioned her head.
She opened her eyes and bolted upright when a warm, calloused hand brushed her cheek.
“Easy, you’re safe,” said a deeply rich and sexy voice. “Lie back down.”
She looked around the spacious bedroom and even through the muted light could see the room was tastefully decorated with dark wood furniture matching the dark wood bedposts. A creamy white chaise sat in the corner with a cozy-looking rich brown throw blanket dangling off the side of it. She imagined herself lounging on it with a good book and a glass of wine sitting atop the small side table next to the chaise. Gemma did in fact feel safe, safer than she had felt in a very long time. She complied with the gentle command to lie down, pulling up the chartreuse-colored sheet that had pooled around her belly when she had sat up and she sensed a blush creep onto her cheeks while doing so. The memory of what had happened earlier in the forest with the two gorgeous men beside her came flooding back to her as well. They had given her a ray of hope when she had none left.
At first she was on her guard, wary of anyone who dared approach her lest they were part of Pollux-Moon or in allegiance with them. Then she became angry that two complete strangers thought it their right to order her around, to touch her without her consent. She’d been in too much pain to realize that they only wanted to help her. So in agony and unfocused as she was, at first she hadn’t even realized that they were her mates.
Mates. I have mates. She closed her eyes briefly and savored the delicious scents that surrounded her. Her pain had been reflected in their eyes earlier when she had locked gazes with them after she realized who they were to her. One of them had hair the color of midnight and eyes of gold. His hard gaze had softened when she stopped struggling and let him examine her. She found him looking at her when she opened her eyes again.
“What’s your name?” he asked. He had a slightly deeper baritone than the one who commanded her to lie down.
“I’m Gemma. But my friends call me Gem.”
“You have a beautiful name, Gemma, Gem.” His smile was breathtaking. He looked so open and friendly, a complete contrast to how he had looked earlier when he was being bossy and commanding. “I’m Jordan. Alpha of the White-Moon pack. This is my brother and beta, Kane.”
She looked over at Kane—hair nearly as dark as his brother’s, but eyes a mossy green—and managed a small smile. Both men were large and muscular and exuded a power hard to miss. They had identical tattoos on their left pectoral—a wolf’s paw print with a wolf face inside it. The eyes of each wolf, however, matched its owner’s. A full white moon stood out behind the paw and the White-Moon pack insignia, in elegant script, rested underneath. They both sported various other tattoos, but that particular one was breathtaking.
“You had us worried there, little wolf,” Kane said. “How are you feeling?”
“Like I just clawed my way out of hell for a temporary breather.” She hadn’t meant to say that out loud.
Kane looked suddenly angry. “Who did this to you?”

Guest Blog- Maia Dylan new release! Blessed with an Angel
Today I’m hosting the very talented Maia Dylan for her latest in the Grey River series, Blessed with an Angel. If you haven’t read any of the previous four Grey River series, they’re a fantastic read full of shifters, great action and enough steamy menage to keep you squirming! I guarantee once you start with this series you’ll need to read them all!
BLESSED WITH AN ANGEL – GREY RIVER 5
Blurb:
Angel Navarez came to Grey River looking for a better life for her and her son, but she hadn’t counted on having to fight a man looking for revenge to live it.
Noah and Chris Carson both recognized Angel as their Fated mate the moment they met. But Noah firmly believed that his past actions made it impossible for him to have a future, so he left fully expecting his brother to find happiness with their mate without him.
But that changes when Angel is threatened and Noah drops everything to be there to protect her. Chris convinces Noah that he’s worthy of their dream, but he can’t fight for their future if he continued to fight his past. They must work together to earn back Angels trust and convince her that they can be the mates she deserves.
Just when their dream is within their grasp, the past catches up with them and the threat becomes very, very real.
*************************************************************************************************
I remember noticing Noah when the Alpha’s talked about him in the first Grey River series, thinking that he would make a very interesting hero, so I’m excited to read his story!
Are you ready for a story excerpt? I sure am!
STORY EXCERPT:
“Oh God, Chris, I don’t know if I can do this,” Angel sobbed and Noah felt a pain settle in his heart at her distress.
“Angel, of course you can,” Noah tried his best to channel the soft and encouraging tone his brother had been using.
“Noah’s right baby, you are one of the strongest women I know! You want to meet your baby boy, I know you do, and I can assure you he wants to meet you too,” Chris moved lower and Noah watched his hands working to help Angel birth her baby, and from the way she was tensing again, Noah knew a contraction had just hit her. He leaned into her, pushing her forward like she wanted and took her weight for her.
“That’s it, Angel! Here he comes, baby, here he comes… I’ve got him!” Chris announced as Angel collapsed, sobbing uncontrollably against Noah. A few seconds later there was a small cry, then a full-on wailing as the baby screamed his displeasure at what had just happened. Chris tore of his shirt, wrapped the baby in it and then immediately moved to place the bundle on his mama.
“Oh, my god, oh my god,” Angel cried as she wrapped her arms around the precious bundle and stared into the wrinkled little face. “Hi! Hi, baby boy, I’m your mama. Oh! You are so beautiful,” she whispered as she pressed her lips to his little forehead. Noah had to agree, he was looking at a strikingly beautiful baby, despite being fresh out of the oven and covered in…stuff.
“Fresh out of the oven,”—Chris’s laughing voice came down their link—“I dare you to say that out loud!”
Noah sent him a small smile and shook his head. He might have only just met Angel, but he knew that she wouldn’t find that description flattering at all. He had registered the sirens in the distance in the final moments of Angel giving birth, but hadn’t paid it any notice. Now he felt relief when he heard another ambulance screech to a halt outside the house.
“The ambulance is here, Angel,” Chris said tenderly, and Noah watched with a heavy heart as Chris leaned over and pressed a kiss to first Angel’s forehead and then the baby’s. “They are going to take you straight up to Labor and Delivery to get you cleaned up and I’ll meet you there, okay?” Angel’s head flew up and whatever Chris saw in her gaze had him reassuring her. “I promise, baby, I will only be a couple of minutes behind you. I need to talk with Noah for a moment and then we’ll come up and see you.” Angel nodded hesitantly and Noah knew she would have rather had Chris go with her.
“Go with her, Chris.” Noah used their link for the first time, in a very long time. “She’s scared and she needs you.”
Chris was quiet as his gaze bore into Noah and he felt almost stripped naked by the intensity of it. “There is nothing I want more than to go with her, but I think you and I need to have a conversation first.”
The next few minutes were filled with people moving quickly and efficiently to get Angel onto a stretcher and then they hustled her to the front of the house. Noah stayed back and out of sight. His head was spinning now that the adrenaline of the moment had faded, and it reminded him that he had recently suffered significant blood loss, still had three bullets in his back and a system full of jax. All in all, it was fucking surprising he was still on his feet.
“Noah,” Chris moved toward him, and Noah couldn’t stop himself from taking a small step back. He saw the pain on Chris’s face and immediately regretted the move, but Noah was worried about whether or not the poison could be absorbed by Chris if he came in contact with his blood. Until he found out for sure, he was keeping his brother safe. Just as he always had and always would.
Chris made a frustrated sound as he ran his hands through his hair, a move Noah knew very well. “Shit, Noah. You’ve been gone for eight months. Eight fucking months with no word from you! You closed yourself off from our bond, and like a dumbass little brother I kept talking to you. Did you even hear me at all?”
“No,” Noah felt acid boiling in his stomach. He had never lied to Chris. Oh, sure he had omitted stuff, but what older brother didn’t? But bald face lied to his face? Never. Not until that very moment.
Chris exhaled hard, as if Noah had actually punched him in the stomach. “Okay then, so you left and severed contact with me. Why?” The pleading in his voice and filling his eyes almost had Noah telling him everything, just to get Chris to feel better.
“I’m just not meant to be here, Chris.” Noah didn’t lie this time. He truly believed he wasn’t worthy of returning to Grey River. Working as an Enforcer, and taking out shifter assholes that break their laws was his penance. “I can’t be here.”
“What about Angel? I know you felt the Quickening, the same as I did.” Chris stepped right up and got in his face and Noah almost smiled. Chris was the healer, not the fighter of the two brothers, but for his mate, he would stand toe-to-toe with a killer, and that was exactly what Noah was. “Are you just going to turn your back on our triad? Everything we hoped for and prayed for growing up is right in fucking front of us for the taking. Are you gonna reach out with me, and grab a hold of her and never fucking let her go?”
