A Tattoo And A Review Featuring, R. Thomas Brown

On Friday, one of our favourite customers David, came by Malefic Tattoos for a six hour session. Yeap, that's right, I said six hours. David is a fiend when it comes to getting tattooed. He'd be in every day if he could.

During his tattoo David read from R. Thomas Brown's collection of dark stories, Mayhem

I think it did help to distract him, not so much from the thirteen magnum needles penetrating his skin at 120 times per second, but from how pissed his was at the guy who's suppose to be pain...

A Tattoo And A Review, Featuring Paul D. Brazill

British author Paul D. Brazill has a fantastic new collection of noir short stories out called Snapshots, published by Pulp Metal Fiction.

Today, one of our favourite customers, Bill, came by Malefic Tattoos for more ink and got to read some of Paul's dark and twisted little tales of suspense. The first story in this collection, my personal favourite, is called "Seeing Blue".

Here's the opening line: "First, it all turns red. And then it goes black for a very long time. After that, everything...

A Tattoo And A Review With My Daughter Sam

Today my very own daughter Samantha came in for a tattoo. Actually, she was already here. She works with me at the shop full time. Which is great since she just moved out of the house and into her first apartment with her boyfriend.

Sam is working on her apprenticeship at Malefic Tattoos and going to art school part time. This spring we expect to get a tattoo machine in her hand.
She's been doing a lot of drawing in the meantime, creating some kick-ass flash designs and showing off her mad ar...

Meet James Ray Tuck Jr. His debut novel Blood And Bullets...

Meet James Ray Tuck Jr. His debut novel Blood And Bullets, a dark urban fantasy, has just launched with a big bang. I was thrilled to discover that James, like myself, is not only a fiction writer, he's also tattoo artist. A rare combination it seems. He owns Family Tradtion Tattoos in Marietta, Georgia and does some pretty nice work. I hear he's also passionate about guns and Jesus.

Recently I hit James up for an interview and just as I thought, he's a real down to earth, cool guy, big teddy ...

Who Is Scarlet Rose?

According to her estranged, drug smuggling, addict of a daughter, Suzanne, who once lived on the streets, Scarlet Rose is "the Cruella De Vil of mothers.... a drunk and a tyrant" who destroyed the lives of her children.

Her other daughter Fiona, a pill popping, dope smoking reluctant stripper, thinks Scarlet Rose was "ill-equipped as a young woman to look after herself, let alone a house full of children." She was also,"nothing but a menace."

And what would her murdered ex-husband Charlie say a...

A Tattoo And A Review, Featuring Pearce Hansen

Matt was at Malefic Tattoos recently to continue with his head tattoo. Want to know the book he read while getting tattooed? Why the phenomenal Pearce Hansen's Gun Sex. Now that's a title that will stop you in your tracks and make you say, "Whoa."

Matt says the first story, Girl Crazy, was his favourite. "It's pretty sexy. I actually think I might have to go see a priest on my way home."

Matt says that Pearce Hansen is a fantastic writer and the stories kept his eyes glued to the iPad.

"Have I u...

A Tattoo And A Review, Featuring Keith Rawson

Teresa was back at Malefic Tattoos to have some more work done on her amazing Japanese sleeve by Fabien. Teresa enjoyed reading Keith Rawson's ebook short story collection, The Chaos We Know, by Snubnose Press.

Keith's collection is pretty sick, I have to say. Sick meaning good, like how bad means good, and cool means hot, err... yeah.

Teresa really liked it and says, "The stories are so raw and realistic."

One of Teresa's favourites was The Blood, The Shattered Glass and all the Rest (love th...
