I  read a new Amazon review today for The Dragon and the Apprentice. Yet another person commenting on all of the big words in the book. He felt the dragon’s large vocabulary slowed the story down to a glacial pace. Well, I think I came up with the perfect response.


Dear Sir,

Thank you for the review. I’m sorry you felt The Dragon and the Apprentice moved at a glacial pace. Dragons are quite large and fearsome. One doesn’t dare try to rush them, especially old ones like Sir John. Fear not! The second book is finished and set to be released later this year.    I’m Sully Tarnish. If you’re not familiar with me, I’m the author of The Dragon and The Apprentice. An epic fantasy about who is stronger, dragons or wizards. Welcome to my blog! I shall endeavor to post updates here on a semi regular basis about my comings and goings and stories I’m presently hard at work on. I wanted to relate some exciting news about the next book in The Chronicles of Sir John the Worm. The manuscript is almost complete. There are only two chapters left to write. For now we'll call it The Apprentice Prince. This installment will feature all of the characters from the first book as well as some new faces, which include a pirate named Captain Tall Tide and his feline first mate Mr. Underfoot.

I wanted to let all of you know the second book in The Chronicles of Sir John the Worm is almost finished. Look for it sometime in 2018.

I'm delighted by the response to 'The Dragon and the Apprentice.' I believe this is precisely the sort of book that will grow in popularity as time goes by. We're off to a terrific start thanks to everyone here at Goodreads.

Cooking While Writing

I'm making apple empanadas and working on the second book in 'The Chronicles of Sir John the Worm' toady. I like to cook and write at the same time. Cooking allows me to take a break from writing, recharge my batteries, and stay in creative mode. Sitting on the toilet is another favorite past time when I'm writing. The solitude of the privy is uniquely condusive to imaginative thinking.
