The Trouble With Trouble is 99p until 11th July

The Kindle of my new book The Trouble With Trouble is only 99p on Amazon in the UK until 11th July.

It’s a powerful erotic thriller set mainly in a Sheffield police station. The story follows on from The Trouble With Liam but it can be read as a standalone. When a forensic scientist invents a potent sexual arousal cream called Trouble, it causes huge problems for DCI Jeremy Cosgrove, his beautiful, sex-addicted liaison officer, Kate Pendleton, and two other women who work at the station. It’s a torrid tale of blackmail, lust, secrets, hidden identities, and murder. It’s a bit like Line of Duty but with plenty of explicit sex.

Be warned. As with book 1 of the series, The Trouble with Trouble is not a book for the faint-hearted or easily shocked. I’ve written two more books in the Trouble series which can also be read as standalones. I hope to publish book 3, Trouble In Cornwall, and book 4, Troubled, in late 2020.

The words were triggered by Mug’s entanglement with … let’s call him Michael. Mug was a recently divorced woman in her late forties. Michael was a complex, enigmatic Scottish baggage handler eleven years her junior who was hiding shocking secrets from the world.

Mug began writing a truthful book about their unusual story planning to give it to Michael for Christmas. When she let him read the first few chapters, he threatened to drive off a cliff. Nevertheless, she continued writing her book. After eventually discovering the truth Michael had been hiding for years, it was Mug who wanted to die. The purpose of her book then changed. It became her attempt to make sense of the bizarre events unfolding as she wrote it, and to help her and Michael deal with the aftermath.

Nanowrimo 2019 challenge

I’m raising my glass to author Linda Huber​ who, like me, reached 50,000 words today in the NaNoWriMo challenge. Well done us. Congratulations to everyone else who reaches 50,000 words or even half that number by 30th November.

It's the first time I've taken part in the challenge and found it a useful fun way of concentrating the mind. I'm looking forward to the celebratory meal on the 30th of November that the Oldham participants are holding.

The next challenge is for me to finish writing Troubled, book 4 in the Trouble series.
