Lavish – NaPoWriMo

There is a Lavish Beauty to You

I cannot deny;

A Magnificence that Charms and Lures

My every notion,

Clasping each Breath I Breathe

In Your Compelling grasp,

Drawing Shivers from the depths of me

While I stand,

Undeniably,

Inescapably,

Spellbound,

And Unreservedly Surrendered,

To You.

Though atypical, I have purposefully allowed this poem to stand alone, without an image to guide your interpretation or lead your thoughts.  Does the verse speak to you of a Beautiful Vista?  A Starlit sky? The Beguilement of a Lover? or the Enraptured Bliss of a newborn Child? or, perhaps, The Beauty of words, of Poetry, itself?

No Longer Twain

Hush Sweet Twilight,

Lift your lips to mine

In the Tender Embrace of Nighttide,

Sigh with my every Breath

While the gaudy Lord of Brazen Day

Bows his head in deference

To your Intoxicatingly Beguiling presence;

Close your eyes and drift with me

Upon the Silken River of Starlight

Until we are no longer Twain,

But One.

Cascading Torrent – NaPoWriMo

.

Tide of Softest Night

Slipping through my hands

Like an hourglass falling

Before the waking Light of day,

Cascading Torrent

Of Ethereal Majesty

Turning in the mercurial void

Undo the hapless, shapeless notions

That spin unhindered in the shades

And Shine in Triumphant Glory

Through every Breathless word

And Shivering Sentiment

These poor pawns of verbose suffrage

May spill upon the page.

.Though I have not been following the NaPoWriMo daily prompts, I thought to challenge myself last evening.  Sitting at my laptop, listening to the beguiling sounds of Adrian von Ziegler, I opened a word.doc, closed my eyes and simply wrote.  I did not pause until the words tumbling through my mind abated, and this poem was a result.

What is it about? What does it say to you?

And are you willing to accept a similar challenge to allow Inspiration full control?

The Harpsichord- NaPoWriMo

Waken my heart in the Velvet Shifting Hours

That Caress my sleeping mind

With unhurried notions and Breathless Beguilements;

Sleeping soft in these Lavish Waves of Time,

Splendid and Alluring,

While the Garden of Moonlight overhead

Blossoms with Visions Delicate and Thunderous in Beauty,

Transient and Breathless.

Waken the Essence of my very Soul

To beat in Unison with the Harpsichord of Time,

Chimes tolling in Harmonious Majesty

Unheard by slumbering, melancholic minds.

The Shadows Bloom in Indigo Hue

Dappled shade upon the wall

Twilight settling in Delicate Calm

As the Candlelight shifts and bends,

Spectral Temptation Whispering Your Name.

 

Midnight sips the Sweet Wine of Night

Entranced by her Tranquil Lover

As bespeckled tides of witnesses

Gaze in Rapt Wonder

Upon the Supple Splendor of Your Body.

 

Morning Bends her modest Gaze

Round the Blushing hills and Verdant rushes

Smiling as the willows Sigh

Breathless in her Secret Delight

As she Reaches to Caress You with her Beauty.

Golden Shimmer of Bejeweled Light,

 

Reaching to Beguile

All that once was robed in Shadow;

 

Warmth Caressing as a Lover’s Hand,

 

Prompting Long Reserved Sighs

 

From All that once was Hidden in Shade;

 

Delicate Touch of Ethereal Glimmer,

 

Entrancing, Consuming

 

All that once was Stolen by Darkness;

 

Sing Sweet, Compelling, Tantalizing Glow,

 

Mesmerize All, Deliberate and Slow!
