Manga Monday #2: What is the scariest anime you ever watched?
I tagged myself to Manga Monday by Bailey of Nerd of New York.
Having watched Tokyo Ghoul and Attack on Titans, I never thought I’d see another anime that could scare me–more like disgust me in the process. It’s a story about this girl who has an insatiable desire to eat human flesh until she goes through a disgusting metamorphosis… simply reminds me of Franz Kafka’s Metamorphosis and the movie District 9, both I wish I could permanently delete from my memory.

Runners Up
Attack on Titan – the soundtrack and story line will distract you, I promise.
Tokyo Ghoul – the fight scenes are so awesome, you’ll love the ghouls!
I just remembered that the title of this Manga Monday is Scariest Anime, not the scariest anime you ended up loving (Tokyo Ghoul is FREAKING AWESOME). Ok, I’m going to stop now.

First Impression
“Yes.”
“I idolize you!!! I love your voice so much, you sound like a DJ.”
“…Thank you.”
My normal response would have been, “Yes, I know.”
But the situation called for a less personal response.

Bookaholics Anonymous – Book
I read The Inky Awkto ‘s answers for this book tag [which you can read by clicking on his name XD] and I found them fascinating so I went ahead and answered the questions myself. I’m so sorry if I can’t find the person responsible for this tag.
1. What do you like about buying new books?
The thrill it gives me, of course! I like sniffing my own books, which sounds disgusting to other people but I’m ok with that. So when I purchase new books, I always get excited thinking about how it smells. Also, I’m a hoarder so I’m always enthusiastic to build my collection.
2. How often do you buy new books?
Just when I feel like it… Or when I finish some from my stash. Or when there’s a completed series available in box sets. Yep, box sets get to me faster than a regular book would. There is something about a completed series that makes you think you deserve the set. The fact that it’ll look good on your shelf.
3. Bookstore or online book shopping – which do you prefer?
Bookstores. Traditional book hunting is my pick-me-up habit. Reorganizing shelves in bookstores gives me satisfaction that there was a time I seriously considered changing jobs.
4. Do you have a favorite bookshop?
Powerbooks because the selection is awesome and they have couches you can actually use if there is a book you want to read. They even encourage people to read available copies of the book so you don’t need to do it discreetly as in other bookshops with plastic film-covered copies.

However, since I also have a thing for pre-loved books, when my stingy self calls to me and tells me I can purchase good books for a cheap price, I go to the nearest Booksale.
5. Do you preorder books?
I only did it for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child and I don’t think I’ll be preordering any other books unless it is from J.K. Rowling.
6. Do you have a monthly book buying limit?
I don’t really think I do but my father often tells me that I buy books faster than I read them so maybe I should. Lol
7. Book buying bans – Are they something for you?
I don’t really ban myself from buying any book.
8. How big is your wishlist?
My wishlist tends to be very short because I end up buying the books I want the week after [Heads up, I failed the marshmallow test].
9. Which three books from your wishlist do you wish to own NOW?
Will 3 different covers do? I already have two sets of Harry Potter but I still want to purchase these because of the covers… I know I’m hopeless.

MANGA MONDAY
I tagged myself to Manga Monday by Bailey of Nerd of New York. To officially begin this, I enumerated the list of anime/manga that I love. Although my anime knowledge is particularly outdated, my top 3 remain the same (although I might feature runners up). I am not delving on my favorites since I will have to explain it again (topic #7 in Bailey’s list) so I thought I’d make a list of animations/manga that are really close to my heart:
3rd: ONE PIECE, Echiro Oda
The animation that made me review Japanese ^_^ It’s an ongoing series that I particularly love and I have no qualms about it apart from it being too long but that’s part of the fun.
2nd: Gundam Wing + Endless Waltz
The mysteriousness of the characters in this animation draws me to it, ’til now. Politics and war juxtaposed to love and peace are themes played well. Although for the target audience, I think it may have been too deep. I still love watching the anime and reading the manga.
1st: SLAM DUNK
Yep, I’m a sucker for boys on the court. I love the animation and the manga – I have watched the anime at least ten times, and read the manga, three. I can’t say no to the short basketball shorts either XP
