New Short Story

Every once in a while, a crazy little plot-bunny gets into my brain and I am just useless to any of my larger stories until I stop, and get the interloper saved onto WORD.

Good example of one such plot-bunny was the Beauty Stone Beast series. Well, everyone watch out, cause the next short story series just attacked me a week ago!

The first of this new series is completed, I've gone through it five times t make sure it reads how I want it to, and I sent it to my publisher early this morning.

I feel a little strange about this one because it involves Alien abduction and being sold as a sex slave to a world filled with strange sexy men, who all share ONE common trait. different crazy skin colors and . . . get this... No hair... ANYWHERE... Like a bunch of Vin Diesel's running around looking positively sinful...

Of course, as in ALL of my stories, there is an interesting plot twist to this. But, well, guys... if your interested, you'll have to just wait and see! I promise, it'll be worth the wait!

Hmm... Food for thought...

How many creative people out there are influenced by their dreams? I know I am! I think of all the stories I've come up with and the truth is, MOST of the stories I write have come to me in my dreams. I'm so influenced by them, I have been known to wake up in the middle of the night after having had one and turn on the light to write it down. Otherwise I might forget.

My Eternals came to me that way. Actually, I remember the first dream vividly. I was sitting in a cafe, with a cup of coffee. (I didn't even drink coffee at the time) I saw this BEAUTIFUL man with long black hair and silvery grey eyes come in to the place and when he saw me, he came straight up to me and introduced himself. He told me he just knew I had to be told his story.

And he sat there, talking to me while I drank my coffee. He introduced himself as Shameer and said he wanted me to know all about him, his brother, and the two women he loved. Well, needless to say, that was the night The Eternal began to take form. It was my FIRST attempt at a book and I cannot tell you how many times I quit, restarted, reworked, tore the first drafts up, only to start over. I loved the guys, mind you. I thought they were great! But I just couldn't seem to do their story justice.

Then the day came when I actually FINISHED their story. I remember feeling disbelief, relief, surprise, and shock. It was finally over? LOL, Yeah right! Until about a week later when the next dream came. Darmetheus tapped me on the shoulder and gave me a sexy crooked smile and said, "You only thought you were through... Honey, this is just the beginning.

Now, I'm on book four, and honestly, I'm not sure if The Eternals will EVER be done with me!

Writing, Dreaming, and wondering how close the two are …

How many creative people out there are influenced by their dreams? I know I am! I think of all the stories I’ve come up with and the truth is, MOST of the stories I write have come to me in my dreams. I’m so influenced by them, I have been known to wake up in the middle of the night after having had one and turn on the light to write it down. Otherwise I might forget.

My Eternals came to me that way. Actually, I remember the first dream vividly. I was sitting in a cafe, with a cup of coffee. (I didn’t even drink coffee at the time) I saw this BEAUTIFUL man with long black hair and silvery grey eyes come in to the place and when he saw me, he came straight up to me and introduced himself. He told me he just knew I had to be told his story.

And he sat there, talking to me while I drank my coffee. He introduced himself as Shameer and said he wanted me to know all about him, his brother, and the two women he loved. Here is some REALLY nifty news!

I FINALLY have a website up and running! Yes, this is a part of it, but basically all I can get this site to do is act as a Blog. So, I have now set it up here my new website, http://shilohdarkefantasies.weebly.com  links in to my blog, This site. So, now, you can go through either to get to the other. Fairly easy, once I figured it out how to do it! LOL

So, in other news…. I’ve been neglecting my Eternals and other writings by my Shiloh pen name. I’ve almost made it to thirds through the second story in Awareness; Sensations,  my YA series, which is writing by my alter-ego, Rowan Shannigan. Please, people, believe me, I DO have multiple personalities! They come out in my writing! I have got several stories in the workings of my imaginations, as well as, Eternal Night, the fourth in the Eternals series, I am almost halfway through.  I’ve just fallen off the radar as far as keeping people in the know on what’s going on! I’m sorry for that!

That’s just a snip-it of news, I know, but it i important to share!

TTFN, and be sure to check out the website! Oh, and leave me a note on how you like it!

So. . . I've been had. . .

Have you ever wanted something so much that you give in to the desire and do something without investigating it thoroughly and making sure that you're protected?

I wanted my stories made available to the public sooo badly that I went for it when this person contacted me, (over two years ago now) and asked me to submit my work to this NEW publisher that was opening.

I was so excited! Published? ME? Really? It was too good to be true. I had to keep pinching myself to believe I wasn't dreaming.

Well, now, five published stories later. . . the dream has turned into a nightmare. Why, you say? Well, the CEO of the company has been stealing from her Authors and pocketing all profits to MMP.

How do I feel now? Sick! Used! Abused! and yes, even STUPID!

I don't even really know how much sales I was really making during all this time, because after MMP took out their 60% cut, I was left with what seemed to be only pennies.

So, the authors of MMP have banned together and have started fighting. It took us a week and many, many emails, letters, and notifications, but today is Monday and Mystic Moon Press' website is officially down! Our works can no longer be found there, or at Fictionwise or Mobipocket. We are still working hard at getting Amazon to take our stuff down, but it will only be a matter of time.

What will I do now? Well, I have to wait it out until my stories are no longer available through all these places and be sure that all rights have reverted back to me.

Then, I can once again begin the painstaking process of searching for a new publisher. Or maybe, I will just look into publication on my own. I am not sure yet. But, if I were able to do it myself, and I fail, then the only one I can say let me down is me. Right?

Actually, I think I may use a little of this time off to work on some of my fanfictions. I used to enjoy writing them so much, but when I got published I abandoned those that read them to work hard on promoting my own works. I actually miss it now. I wonder if they will have me back long enough to finish some of my forgotten works?
