Was Mary Magdalene the wife of Jesus?

Mary and Mary Magdalene weep at the mocking of Jesus
Mary and Mary Magdalene weep at the mocking of Jesus,
originally uploaded by DrBacchus.I'm glad to say that all 19 short videos in my series "Women in the Bible" are now available for viewing, on my website and/or on Youtube. I got "Mary Magdalene" on-line last night!

Was she the wife of Jesus, the 'vessel' of his semen and children, the authentic 'Holy Grail'? Did they father a line of Kings?

Who Doesn't Understand This?

A Washington Post article asks, "Can you believe in religious freedom but not believe the mosque is appropriate?" Why is this even a question? Can you believe in religious freedom but not believe a Ku Klux Klan cross burning is appropriate? Isn't this fairly obvious? I don't understand why this is a question!! "Legal rights", based on sound Constitutional principles (that protect ALL of us), are by no means always synonymous with what most of us would deem "appropriate behavior". Who at the W...

But This Particular Mosque?

Masjid Sultan (Sultan Mosque)
Masjid Sultan (Sultan Mosque),
originally uploaded by judhi.President Obama weighed in last night with his opinion that a Muslim group has the right to build a Mosque on the site of the 9/11 attack. He based his opinion on America's principle of Freedom of Religion, and noted that in the past the building of Synagogues and Catholic Churches have sometimes met with similar opposition. "But time and again, the American people have demonstrated that we can work through these issues, stay true to...

lotfollah mosque, isfahan oct. 2007
lotfollah mosque, isfahan oct. 2007,
originally uploaded by seier+seier.Freedom, for America's Founders, meant that all Americans would have the right to pursue wisdom and truth for themselves, with no political or religious constraints imposed by the government. This is the basis of Freedom of Religion, among many other things. It's what makes America special. The disgusting calls that have been heard of late, to completely ban the building of mosques anywhere in America, is anti-American bo...

The Shattered Soul

Humpty Dumpty Sat On a Wall
Humpty Dumpty Sat On a Wall ,
originally uploaded by aturkus. It is a hard truth for human pride to swallow, but here in the realm of illusion where we spend the great majority of our lives, there is really no soul at all. There are only the broken and scattered remnants of the soul, dispersed from the level above, like the Tablets that were shattered when Moses descended and saw the golden calf. The work of Spiritual Evolution begins with 'putting the soul back together again'. This is the gr...

Why Did God Bother?

The Return of the Prodigal Son, 1667/1670
The Return of the Prodigal Son, 1667/1670,
originally uploaded by leoncillo sabino.Spiritual teachings say that we are supposed to "find our way home again": that is, we must seek spiritual Truth and become enlightened. But if we started at "home", what was the point of sending us "down here" just so we can find our way back to where we started??

Perhaps one of the best explanations was given by Christ in his Parable of the Prodigal Son:

A father had two sons. The elder of these remained always ...
