The New Dresden Files Book — I Can’t Be the Only Person Who . . .
Oh dear. I’m not as far in this series as the other readers that shared their thoughts, but this is a sad state of affairs! I did touch upon fantasy authors in one of my other blog post (https://adaratrosclair.wordpress.com/2018/01/17/the-war-of-the-genres-and-why-fantasy-writing-isnt-for-everyone-i-feel-your-pain-george-r-r-martin/) and I’m glad that I’m learning more before I delve deeper into the series. I want to create a fantasy series with all of the fun and none of the trauma! #amreading...

JuNoWriMo 2020 Days 16 and 17
Yesterday, I wrote only 984 words. Boo hoo hoo!
Today, I did a little bit better.
I love cats. And though I love cats that doesn’t mean I don’t have a place in my heart for dogs: especially HUSKIES! They’re sooo cute!
Yesterday and today, I was researching different types of cats that would work well for a special character in my WIP. I chose the Ragamuffin cat due to their docile and playful behavior. They also grow to be quite large and fluffy!
I love how Neil Gaiman had one particular cat in ...
Why are some repertoires of contention more effective than others?
This is an interesting and deliciously thought-provoking post. It got me thinking about the often insidious countermeasures and fatal actions that certain groups and/or individuals: “Although this choice of repertoire may not have achieved the ‘ultimate goals’ of the movement and some Buddhists disapproved of it, the novelty element played a strong role in attracting media and public attention (Biggs 2013: 417).” For example, the public assassination of Martin Luther King, Jr. and the government...

Monday Notes: The Black People in Front of You
This resonates with me: “Some black people will not encounter police brutality, but we will encounter white people in other spaces that weren’t initially created for us”. I’ve been teaching for almost twenty years. There’s no denying that I’m good at what I do. In fact, my classroom was chosen as a model for newer and older teachers to observe and learn from. Unfortunately, one of my colleagues chose to undermine and disrespect me during a collaborative meeting between our school and a visiting ...

Quick Sip Reviews’ Take On “Bondye Bon”!
This review is a more than two years old, but it’s a timely one for me for obvious and perhaps not so obvious reasons.
One, I missed seeing this review the first time it was published in 2018.
During that time, I met so many amazing authors and readers.
And two, my other author website http://www.moniquedesirauthor.com had an untimely death, so a lot of the reviews I compiled there will have to be excavated from the web and added here. You see, when you have to choose between buying groceries an...
