Book News!

Here’s the cover of my next novel due out in August!

What do you think?

It’s Sam Daniels’ story. He has a good heart, but he’s always getting ahead of the game. He’s not too fond of patience. Is anyone really?

I’m looking forward to sharing it with you. Next time, I’ll share the back cover copy, and you can meet Sam and Merritt Hastings, too!

Not My Normal Post

I am tired of being politically correct and keeping my mouth shut.

Shame on me and others like me for watching in horror at the latest mass shooting and praying for the newest families who lost members to gun violence, then voting for people who can’t or won’t enact change.

Shame on those elected officials who refuse to find a way to protect innocent lives who are attending church or temple, who are listening to a band, who are watching a movie, who are buying groceries, who are trying to learn ...

Meet the Daniels Family Inspirations

The next installment of the Daniels’ family is due out in August. I’ll have more about that story soon, but since Ben, Heath, Sam, and Josie Daniels are based on Anna, Hattie, Lane, and Quinn Dougherty, I thought you might like to meet the inspirations. Yes, I know. The Daniels family, who first showed up in Forever Music, have three sons and a daughter, and we have two daughters and twin sons, but the love between them and the banter back and forth are definitely Dougherty-based.

All four of o...

Easter 2022!

Another Easter is in the books, and wow! It was a doozy!

Here are just the facts:

Fifty-two people attended.
Three to-go plates went out.
Eight children hunted for Easter eggs (plus two adults who will remain nameless, but we know your names!)
Three different languages were spoken (English, French, and Congolese)
Army and Air Force were represented. (Three Army captains, and I’m sorry I didn’t get the rank of the air force people!)
Three preachers attended, but Kevin said the bless...

Crochet Asymmetrical Cardigan

Oops. I guess I took a break from blogging because I missed the whole month of February, and here we are at the end of March. I’ve been focusing on other things (and sometimes not focusing at all to be honest). I’ve decided to share some pictures of one thing I’ve accomplished.

I began crocheting the motifs for this asymmetrical cardigan last June during our week at Deer Valley. Crocheting the motifs while we traveled and chatted with friends at camp helped me accomplish a lot in that week.

Then...

Happy New Year!

We’re halfway into the first month of the year, and I’m just now posting. I’ve been busy. These books might lead you to believe I’ve been on a cleaning frenzy. No, that’s not true. I’ve gathered my cleaning books–except for the FlyLady one I can’t find yet–for inspiration. I have started bagging clothes I haven’t worn in years, throwing away things that should have been in the trash long ago, and tidying up areas that have needed some attention for a while. I’m working with the mindset of releas...

My First Book Talk in Two Years!

The Senior Saints at my church invited me to talk about Candy Cane Wishes and Saltwater Dreams at their recent Christmas luncheon. The decorations were spot on. Don’t you agree?

My mother introduced me!

Talking with my hands!

Unfortunately, I didn’t get pictures of my mother or the team of wonderful people who made the event happen.

I spent several minutes trying to place all these pictures just so, but I really have to get to more baking! I’m better w...
