Rogue God

[image error]NOVEL: This, believe it or not, originated from fan fiction.  I never much liked other people’s characters; the ones I created kept taking over, so I turned it into a story.

Anton Keymas is part of a magical Special Forces, the Vai, and blessed by a party goddess. His mission? Hunt monsters that no one believes in any more and try not to get killed.

But this new monster has killed two soldiers. Now that it’s gotten a taste of human flesh, it will be back for more.

Keymas has little time to stop a monster that is intelligent and cunning. He may have to do the one thing he has refused to do, and even that has a cost, especially when gods get involved.

Women at War: Stories & Poems

[image error]This is a collection of stories and poems reflecting my military experience.  There are poems written during Desert Storm.

Desert Storm war veteran Linda Maye Adams shows the diversity of what war is like for the women who deploy in this collection of short stories and poetry. The stories run from “First Night,” and “Between Black and White,” because war seldom ends when the war does.

The poems include:

A Woman Goes to War
Once Upon a Time
Only Questions
Little One
The Lonely Sounds of War
No Safe Places
Just Like Me
That Wish

Flash fiction stories and poetry collection available from your favorite booksellers.

New Robot Smell

[image error]This is a dark science fiction story, a legacy of my Desert Storm days.  I knew a person like the character’s friend in the story.

Technology is taking over the military. To help money, robots now perform many of the duties like cooking.  Private First Class Rachel Drake wonders what the next steps will be.  She doesn’t like the answers she is getting.  She thinks they will be replacing soldiers with robots soon.  But that’s far from what the truth will be, and far more dangerous.

Blink of a Moment

[image error]This was for an anthology call and provided the opening sentence.  Everyone was going to do first person or dialogue, so I wanted to be different and started with a tweet.

The world stops for Trey Howard, like a camera rewinding and then starting up again.  All he wants to is hide in his job as a janitor and pretend like he doesn’t exist, like can’t make the world blink.  Then the government finds him,  men who are not affected when the world blinks, and they want to talk to him…

Alien Traps

Thirty years ago, Lily Chun saw a UFO in the desert and the memory disappeared into a child’s fantasies.  But after a dream called to her, she’s back out to the same place, drawn by the emptiness of the life she’s abandoned.  A chance meeting with a stranger convinces her that maybe there’s a reason to be here now, and it isn’t just to see aliens.

The Remembering Warriors Bundle

[image error] Raise money for veteran charities and get good fiction and non-fiction. This book features my memoir Soldier, Storyteller.

One hundred years ago, in 1918, the Great War ended after four terrible years. Never had the world seen such a conflict. All touched by its scythe hoped we would never be thusly reaped again. Their hopes were but desperate dreams. Since that first armistice, there have been many more battles, and thousands have given their lives or their health to preserve freedom and escape from tyranny.

A hundred years after the first armistice we still remember and honour those brave souls. But still the soldiers fall, for the War to End all Wars did not.

10% of the royalties from the Remembering Warriors bundle will go to the Royal British Legion plus another 10% to Help for Heroes, two charities that support wounded and ex-service personnel and their families, in commemoration of the World War I centenary.

Pay a minimum of $6.99 USD and receive all 13 ebooks by:

Kevin J. Anderson

Writing Guides

I thought I would never do any writing guides, because I feel like I still don’t know enough yet to do one. But sometimes there’s so little information on a topic that it calls to a writer, and both of these did that. Links to blurbs are still being updated.

[image error]This started as a class for Forward Motion.  It was quite challenging…how do you explain the military to people who aren’t in the military?

[image error]This grew out of my frustration at how little there is on writing for people who don’t outline.  When I wrote this there were only 2 others on the topic ever published.  Now there are 4.

Mystery Stories

I grew up reading Nancy Drew, Trixie Belden, and Kim Aldrich. I could never get enough of girls having adventures with something exciting like solving mysteries.   Links to blurbs are still being updated.

[image error]When I was driving home, a white dog was standing up on his hind legs, feet propped up on a fence, looking like he was chatting with the neighbors. So I had to use him in a story.

Watcher Ghost

[image error]I was writing Crying Planet and just realized I had a series. I was still fresh on these characters, so I thought haunted space station and the rest is story.

This story won an honorable mention in the Writers of the Future Contest.

Hope Delgado specializes in alien ghosts in space.  But her latest mission to a space station is a challenge even for the woman who can talk to ghosts.  Because this ghost isn’t able to talk to her, and he’s escalating his efforts into frightening attacks.

Hope thinks he has a warning, but she is running out of time.
