While at lunch, I took Lu into the restroom, and didn’t see her turn to go back in after we left. As a result, her tiny hand got squashed. :-(

After kisses better, and hugs, and band aids, we got into the car and I told her again how sorry I was.

“No problem, Mom,” she says.

“Is there anything I can do to help you feel better? ”

She goes quiet for a second, then says quietly, “Ice cream helps.”

Then ice cream it shall be.

Sometimes I sit down to write, and for a few moments, it just...

Sometimes I sit down to write, and for a few moments, it just feels like breathing. It’s effortless and I don’t have to think about it, and the words just come out. And I’m not worried about whether it’s good or bad because I’m just so busy getting all the words out.

I’m so thankful for the moments when writing feels like this. It keeps me going all the other times when it feels like trying to build a castle out of dry sand.

I’m getting so close to having a completed story, yet...

I’m getting so close to having a completed story, yet it’s getting more and more difficult to wrangle my thoughts into some kind of order.

I’m thankful for nights like tonight when words flow freely, and the world seems to dissappear for a time while I’m writing.

Even if I don’t use anything I wrote tonight, it all still brings me closer to the finished product.
