Post Irma

I've been working like crazy to get back into the swing of things! On September 7th I was evacuated out of Key West due to Hurricane Irma. I thought, 'oh I'll be in a hotel for a few days at most.'

Cue 15 days later.

Thank goodness I was informed I could finally return home tomorrow, and utilities are all back up. Hurray! But it has been a mad scramble of packing up my home, my sister's, moving to multiple hotels, and now the drive back to the Keys, on top of prepping for GRL, editing a holiday...

Snow & Winter 1 year anniversary!

Today is the anniversary of The Mystery of Nevermore being published with DSP Publications. Sebastian Snow and Calvin Winter have been bringing murder, mystery, and true love to readers for one year now. The first two books of this four book series have been made available as ebooks, paperback, audio, and soon to be translated into French.

None of this would have happened without readers like you. So thank you for your support and belief in one sarcastic, crotchety sleuth and his ever frustrat...

Monday Feature: Anne Barwell

C.S.: What do you write?
Anne: I write MM romance across several genres: contemporary, fantasy—urban, contemporary, and high—historical, and have dabbled in SF.  Often my books cross over genres too.

C.S.: Why do you enjoy these genres?
Anne: I enjoy them for different reasons, and also because I write what I like to read.  I love exploring what ifs, which is what fantasy and SF is all about.  I also love historical and the research that goes with it—I’ve learnt a lot about the t...

Monday Feature: Lex Chase

C.S.: What kind of projects do you focus on?
Lex: Primarily, character design is my jam. Creating a character’s look, and creating a story to go with them. Some authors pick out actors for their characters, I take it a step further and actually draw them. Also, when I get a chance, I love to participate in the Hannibal fan art events that run throughout the year. To be honest, I’m really just Hannigram trash.

C.S.: Why do you enjoy these projects?:
Lex: It’s actually the conversations I find mys...

Auction: one-n-ten LGBT youth center

The one-n-ten LGBT youth center in Phoenix, Arizona was recently the victim of an arson. In order to help them raise funds to recover and continue the incredible work they do with the community, a wonderful PA decided to start an auction and collect donations from authors, artists, bloggers, designers, and more within the community. The bidding has been going strong for a week now, and tomorrow (Sunday, August 20th) will be the last day to try and nab some amazing items and donate to a cause...

Excerpt: Southernmost Murder

I'm reading through the proof of Southernmost Murder today. This is it! The final round of production before the novel is packed up and prepared for pre-order. Are you excited? I'm excited. Very excited! I can't wait for you all to meet Aubrey and Jun (although if you read The Mystery of the Curiosities, you have an understanding of Aubrey already.) And since there is some crossover between this book and the Snow & Winter series (don't worry, you don't have to read that series to understa...

Monday Feature: CJane Elliott

C.S.: What do you write?CJane: I write contemporary romance with m/m MCs and a cast of LGBTQ characters.

C.S.: Why do you enjoy this genre?
CJane: I love romance because it’s the genre of hope and happy endings. I like exploring people’s inner barriers to love and what it takes to overcome them. But these days I have a love/hate relationship with the contemporary genre because of what’s been happening in our country since 45 took over. My LGBTQ characters have to be affected by the assaults on...
