June & July Reads

It's been a rough summer and my plans for more pleasure reading and reviewing throughout 2019 were pretty severely thwarted. I ended up very, very sick in June and July with debilitating migraines that needed to be dealt with at the ER, immediately followed by a bad ear infection, then an awful reaction to the prescribed medication!

Unfortunately, all those events made reading extremely difficult. So I only have two suggestions. That being said, they're pretty great books! Below are the BookBu...

2 months left!

We're two months out until the final book in the Snow & Winter series!

I'm so unbelievably excited to share The Mystery of the Bones with all of you, but of course it will be a little bittersweet saying goodbye to Sebastian and Calvin. The way I look at it—those two deserve a vacation away from me. And I do hope that while the men of the Memento Mori series are quite different, readers will give them the same chance they gave a snarky amateur sleuth and his ever-patient partner.

Memento Mori soundtrack

For the past month I've been outrageously sick. Everything fell to the wayside during that time—editing, administration, marketing, writing! Book 1 of Memento Mori got caught up in that disaster too, but what can you do? I'm back now and ready to write. And what better way to find the mood and feel of a new book than listening to music? Here's a tentative playlist to my next mystery-romance series. It's a bit all over the place, but then again, I'm still figuring these characters out.

Publishing Anniversary

June is a pretty cool month for me.

It's my birthday, Pride, and my publishing anniversary! And with this month: I'm now thirty-two years old, another year gayer, and it's my fourth year fulfilling my dream as an author worthy of you—the reader's time.

In 2015 I published a little short story with Dreamspinner Press called, Love Has No Expiration. It was sweet, cute, and full of food puns. I'd received the email from my now-editor that I'd been selected to be included in their summer anthology...

May Reads

As you can tell, given the date, it's been pretty nonstop here at Chez Poe. May was a busy month with a lot of projects all in various stages of post production. There was also some struggling on my part to reign in my creativity, which tends to go into a slump midyear. But I'm taking a deep breath now, and can share a few reviews I wrote a while back for some lovely stories.

Here are the BookBub links, if you're interested! These are mirrored at Goodreads, if you prefer that site.
