Have you ever returned a book for a refund?

August has been an interesting month when it comes to reading. I've shared some wins at finding some old favorites in digital format, but I've had some fails as well. Especially when it comes to new books. New books I have paid money for.Sigh. I hate to be one of *those* readers. But you know what? I am. Yes, I have returned 4 books this month for refunds. Books I wanted to like. Books I wanted

Another Friday?

This week has cruised right on by! If you live anywhere in the state of Michigan you will chuckle at that sentence. This is, after all, the 2nd week of the Back to the Bricks celebration (last week was the "Tune-up", or simply another chance to cruise around) and the start to the Woodward Dream Cruise. We always make a point of getting out in the evenings to watch the cruisers and marvel at the

How about a little #ThrowbackThursday with Through the Mist? Available for free from Amazon.com

Today I’m going behind the scenes of Through the Mist. This short story holds a special, if bittersweet place in my heart as it was written for the Wishing on a Blue Star anthology in celebration of author Paric Michael. It was a special project by Dreamspinner Press & ManLoveRomance Press and edited by Kris Jacen. There’s so much to love about this anthology, and no matter how much is said, I

What's on your reading list?

It's going to be a good weekend for reading! First on my list, Bookshare.org (see my post in July) has come through with lightning speed and I've already downloaded a digital copy of Merlin's Keep from their library. So very excited to reread this old favorite.I'm also excited to find another old favorite in the Kindle store and ready for my desktop app or Kindle Fire to read to me. Here's a pic

When's the last time you took a day off?

Not just an, oh, I'm behind/I can only do my minimally viable plan, but an actual day of doing nothing. For those of us here at Chez Munder, apparently far, far too long ago!  We took yesterday off in to celebrate (more on that in a bit), and spent the day napping. Wow. did that feel weird. The weirdness told us it had been a while and a check of the calendar confirmed. Here's a visual if you

Squirrels 1. Sunflowers 0

Dashing by with a quick share and a laugh. It's not the best picture, but the squirrels have found the sunflowers. LOL. This determined fellow wrestled that sunflower head off the plant and carried it off the deck.

Isn't this embarrassing?

That garden needs some weeding! Will I get to it? Nope. Still editing. Even with the overgrowth, the blooms still make me smile.

And the edits continue.

Another week. Another round of edits in my life. Sometimes, my friends, I wonder if I remember how to draft new work. Because I feel like I have been editing all year long. With another 2 or so stories to go. Granted, these are rewrites and expansions of stories, and it's great to revisit the characters and worlds, but it seems the editing never ends.Lucky for me, I just completed the Writers

Raising the white flag on my day.

Yep. It's been one of those weeks. And, one of those days both yesterday and today. You know the ones where every time you touch something electronic it cackles at you and then dies a fiery death? I have left a trail of items needing to be looked at. But that's all problems for Future!Chrissy. Present!Chrissy has completed her minimally viable plan and, with dinner in the oven, will sit back and

For anyone who asked what we will do with all the sunflowers...

In keeping with my sunflower pic from yesterday. Did you know EVERY single part of the plant - stalk and all, is edible? And, you know damn well I'm going to use this info somehow, someway when I finally write my post-apocalyptic novels.Research, people. This is research. But yes, I am going to be trying this cookie recipe.
